………………..The Maverick’s financial bail out of 2008………..

1. Allow the public to buy preferred stock, similar to what Warren Buffet got – via a mutual fund – in all the financial institutions that are in the bail out discussions.

2. Suspend permanently the capitol gains tax for preferred stock investors in these companies.

3. Suspend the mark-to-market valuation required by the Sarbanes-Oxley law for these companies and their liguidated assets.

4. Suspend the capitol gains tax for five years (5) on the assets that are sold off from the above mentioned companies.

Why?

Because he can get this passed with all the momentum in his favor in this election season.

Congress desperately wants to go home as well as they must pass a bill before the elections!!

I am normally against any government interference in anything but here I break my rule. Polls should be banned! I am totally tired of “polls”. They haven’t improved since the Literary Digest in 1936. They seem to be more orientated to pushing a position than actual numbers. Otherwise they simply mess up the sample or distort it with the questions. A poll free election season would be a major improvement.

These polls reflect the fact that most Americans have no idea of what to think about the current situation- except that it is bad, they don’t like it, and they are a little scared.

They really have no idea who to vote for, but are sure that they ought to feel adamantly about something, and so it’s no surprise that marginal voters are blowing back and forth between Obama and McCain.

Unless I’m forgetting someone, Dick Morris was *way* ahead of everybody else in predicting the Democratic Congressional takeover. He has a habit of detecting a trend or sentiment that he thinks may prove decisive, and then gambling everything on it. If he thinks this makes McCain look “hands on” while Obama dithers, it’s not something to write off glibly.

This Zogby poll, on the other hand, is obviously crap.
