Awesome: McCain’s acting in good faith in pulling out of the debate, says Clinton

Via Breitbart, here he is from this morning’s GMA, just a week after calling McCain a “great man” and mere hours before stressing how “personally, profoundly honored” he is to have him speak at his charity. This must be the first time since … ever that he and Gingrich have agreed on something. Think he’s enjoying feeding The One this turdburger in bite-sized morsels as thanks for all the racial demagoguery thrown at him during the primary?
The best part of this isn’t the “good faith” bit but his point — which he repeats, so that no one misses it — that Maverick actually wanted more debates, not less. That’ll be a handy riposte tomorrow if McCain ends up skipping out and the left starts accusing him of being scared. Exit question that’s really not a question: Dude, he’s totally voting Republican this year, isn’t he?

The phrase “good faith” and Clinton should never be used in the same sentence.

Who would have ever thought ol Slick Willy would have ever became one of our best friends but I have heard multiple semi-endorsements of McCain and Palin from him in the last week.
Although when it comes to Palin you know why he likes her, Slick Willy will always be Slick Willy!

I think Bill’s stretching it a bit to call it a national security issue. It reminds me of the stretching of the commerce clause that Congress engages in to gain more regulatory authority.

You know the Democrats keep asking for Bill Clinton’s advice but then they don’t take it? What is that about it is just dumb the man understands the American Electorate and how to appeal to them better then most. The Democrats can’t take his advice? They are going down that Progressive road?

If Bill Clinton is convinced that his touch is poison, he may be trying to hurt McCain, not help him.
njcommuter on September 25, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Short answer: Yes. Both of them (possibly Chelsea too).
Not because they both think McCain would be a better leader, nor a new found ‘country first, partisan politics later’.
But I state the obvious.

ManlyRash on September 25, 2008 at 11:06 AM
I totaly disagree with him about changing the debate to talk about this, or the economy, now.
A single mis spoken word by either side could derail this whole bill. Playing Presidential politics with it at this time would be setting any type of bipartisan bill up for failure.
In a debate, you HAVE to distance youself from your opponent… and this is not the time for divisivness.

Holy Mackeral.
Clinton is simply a genius at turning the screws. Some conservatives despise him so much that they are a bit blind to this, but the guy really knows what he’s about.
As with Hillary in her primary battle, I must grudgingly admit that there is something to admire here, just in terms of sheer craftsmanship of the political art.
JudetheFossil on September 25, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Clinton’s been one of McCain’s best surrogates this week. His appearances on the View and Letterman were also very helpful to McCain.

It’s politics; if Hillary were still in the race, Bill would be hammering the ever-loving shiite out of McCain on everything.
Still, it’s fun watching a talented politician like Clinton take the rookie dorkwad Obaby to the woodshed; his sly hits will help McCain by appealing to those rational dems who don’t know if they can trust Oboe.

Just a reminder, all this love we are feeling now, well that is not going to last come 2012. Or in the Senate for that matter. They are betting the bank that Obama is going to lose or obviously helping him lose. What is the price tag on this? Are they trying to appeal to voters that are more to the middle or to the Right so when she runs we or some might feel obligated to return the favor? Always keep one eye open with these two and yes, in front of you!
LMAO! Thinking the same thing! LOL!

Not having
muchone iota of faith in Mr. Clinton I suspect there must be something in it for him and/or his wife. Maybe McCain promised his wife something if he gets elected. Maybe’s he just got a whole big mouthful of sour grapes. In answer to the question though, yes, I would not put it past him to vote for John McCain. And after the fact, he might even tell the public that he did. He loves that media attention don’t you know.scalleywag on September 25, 2008 at 11:21 AM

Back on topic: underneath all the b.s., the Clenis has some praiseworthy instincts. He may have been a fool many times, but at least he is, at heart, a patriotic fool.
I don’t think this is about “supporting” McCain as it is about acknowledging McCain’s sense of duty.
Something, by the way, Osama Obama totally lacks.

I dunno about that. I think most conservatives–disagree with Bill Clinton as we do–recognize his keen political abilities. He wasn’t always wrong as president, nor is he always wrong now. It’s really nice to see him right about some important issues these days, however.

He may end up being a better ex-president then president (yeah, I know their are no “ex-presidents”).
right2bright on September 25, 2008 at 11:30 AM
At this late date, even if Biden drops out, its too late to change the ballots in most states.
Even though the ballot looks like you are voting for a “team”, you are not, you are voting for two individuals.
The vote counts for the Electoral College are seperate for the Pres and VP.
IF no VP candidate gets a majority of Electoral votes (which Biden can’t if he drops… and there is no write in spot on most ballots for VP), then it devolves to the Senate for a Vote… but they can ONLY vote for one of the TWO top vote getters in the Electoral vote… so… Palin or Green or Constitution candidate.
Its too late for the Dems to change VP candidates, or even for that VP candidate to get in on a Senate vote.
