Ed,

in the original AP article I emailed to the TIP address, AP was making it very clear Palin had the ability to fire the Personnel Board members.

So AP wants to suggest, in the heat of this firestorm over supposedly improperly firing an appointee, that Palin will just fire the Personnel Board appointee's.

Oh yeah, that'll make the whole thing go away.

Meanwhile, state Democrats charge that the Personnel Board can't be trusted with an investigation because it is weighted with political supporters of Palin's.

"One donated to her campaign, one was appointed by her," argued State Sen. Bill Wielechowski of Anchorage. "It's stocked with people she appointed or supported her. . . I don't have a high degree of confidence in what they will issue."

Only one of the board's three members is a registered Republican, according to the state Board of Elections. The other two are undeclared. All three were initially appointed by former Republican governor Frank Murkowski; one has since been re-appointed by Palin. None of the board members responded to requests for comment.

Only Democrats, who get an investigation by a guy who promises an "October Surprise" would be dismayed at this next probe, which is the rightful spot for a personnel matter.

Rush used to do a great imitation of Hollings.

Read the docs, then look at the story… he is either a complete moron(which didn’t originally include statement from Team McCain) or purposely trying to shape a narrative…

Read the emails, even after that “authorization” got signed there was so much ambiguity about the trip and what he should be seeking… the only constant is that nobody likes what he is doing…

BTW, he is able to shape this narrative by putting up two quotes from Team Palin and the guy she fired so it devolves into a he said-she said but with the story written purposely to be negative against Palin... there is no way to do that if he would have quoted directly from the primary materials... he didn't even link to it...

What we are seeing happen to Palin is what happens when conservatives try to put somebody into office that hasn't been knocked to their knees pandering to the press and Washington elite.

After the election, she will blend off into obscurity being the gov. in AK, continuing to ignore the press after the embarrassing slanderous behavior they unleashed on her.

In a year or two, I'll be smacking people up-side-the-head when they say: 'Gee, why can't we just elect a normal, honest person instead of a media picked political puppet?'

Given French's hostility toward Palin, I wonder whether he'll get the legislature to cobble up a negative report before the election.

This year, MSM transitioned from its bias and spin mode of past decades into intentional distortion and propaganda.

I'm glad, as I think jumping this shark will hasten their demise... provided MSM isn't shielded by government from free market forces.

Knowles lost the 2006 election to Palin and surely is no fan, but I hope he's right. Petumenos' pledge to confidentiality is a good sign.

There is more to this then what ABC has reported.

The Board have promised to keep ALL confidential. Which mean even if there was a FOIA, it won't be able to be disclosed until after the investigation and the election.

I am much happier concerning this then with our so called Legislature. I have had it with them. But I am too damn chicken to run myself. I don't like being in the spot light.

It should be non-partisan. Having Obama supporters promising an October surprise is not exactly what I would call a fair form. http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/09/obamas-man-in-a.html

It will be interesting to see what happens to Hollis French when his next election rolls around. Trying to railroad very popular governor is not going to sit well with voters unless he happens to come from some small liberal enclave.

Maybe he was expecting to get job in Washington after he delivered his "October Surprise".

Surprise!

Good points Ed. Knowles seems to get high marks from the folks in Alaska, just not as high as those of Sarah(does anyone ever get 80% approval?)

What needs to be brought out about this, is that it is NOT a witch hunt to see if Sarah did something illegal (she certainly has the right to fire anyone she appoints, and did offer him a different and better suited job) but it is simply a civil service type of complaint to see if they could get Moneghan reinstated.
