Is anyone else getting the idea that the more McCain talks about Obama the worse he gets in the polls. I think it is time for McCain to do some positive ads about himself.

I like this ad, but more balance is needed. McCain’s been adept at causing Obama to lose points, but weak on gaining them for himself.

Palin and the convention were McCain’s only significant poll grabbers. People need to know more of “why” they need to support McCain.

- Positive ad on his prior economic work and plans for the future?
- Lexington Project?

The McCain camp squandered the post Palin/ convention lead. That would have been the time to hit with the positives and shore up the new found support.

In many ways, we choose our friends, if only by choosing not to rebuke them. Enemies, on the other hand, are generally earned by our actions.

As such, you can characterize a man’s judgment by the quality of his friends, but you judge his character by the quality of his enemies.

But it looks like he’s back on it. He’s suspending his campaign to get the details of this deal hammered out.

Of course this wont be considered leadership by the MSM. I’m sure that John would rather save the economy and lose an election than the exact opposite.

McCain is where he is in the polls because he has not attacked Obama hard enough on the economy.

I don’t think so. A rep from Gallup says that there is a percentage of people that simply respond with which ever name they’ve heard on the news most recently.

McCain is doing better in the polls, even the polls where the MSM is clearly weighting them in Obama’s favor, than any Republican I can remember in my lifetime.

Remember Fritz had a 18 point lead on Reagan. Kerry had a 20 point lead on Bush. McCain is doing very well.

I had that thought also, but we know that negative ads work.

So, I’m gonna wait for the debates. The MSM can’t obfuscate a clear Oslime-a failure when it’s on live TV.

but the DATES the statements were made should be put up on the screen.
