He clearly is not. No reasonable person has made the case that Obama is qualified to be President.

Yet they play defense on Palin. Every question about her qualifications should be immediately met with a question to the so-called “journalists” (i.e. pro bono media for the DNC), what qualifications worthless jackass Obama has? What has Obama accomplished?

Then go through what Palin has done. But if you immediately turn it around and fire back at the media’s candidate, neophyte Obama, they’ll get tired of asking it.

You avoided addressing the scenario I raised. Here it is again: the states that went for Bush in 2004 form a compact and declare their independence from the United States. Assume for this hypothesis that you are president of the Unites States.

Do you give them your blessing and wave them good-bye? Or do you put on a stove-pipe hat and announce that the Union must be preserved at all costs?

Maybe if the media were actually neutral informers of the public, and if the sample sizes were larger (and they were less frequently done), reported polls might have some relevance.

It’s going to be a battle the whole damn way, esp because Obama’s Chicago machine will do everything in their power to tilt the numbers in his favor.

But it will be less of a battle if McCain destroys Obambi in the debates.

It is a testament to the professionalism of our military that they don’t get caught up in silly things like dreaming up rebellions and civil war. The ultimate in discipline is to continue to press on even when you have doubts as you described.
We survived the Clinton years and the low regard they had for our military. If Obama gets elected they will do the same, I have no doubts.

Zero chance. It would take too many people and if the manipulation was ever revealed, lots of people’s careers would be finished.

The “weighting” used in the most recent ABC/WaPo poll (the one that shows Obama up by 9%) assumes that Democrats will reach record high turnouts and Republicans will reach record low turnouts. Most polls are using weightings around +3% for Democrats. This ABC/WaPo poll gets Obama up by 9% by assuming a +10% advantage for Democrats in turnout and an even larger advantage among leaners.

Hey. Maybe they’re right that 54% of the voters who show up at the polls in November will be registered Democrats — it could happen. But if they have reason to suspect that, that should be the lead. That would be a huge, huge story. Instead they bury that ASSUMPTION and lead with the obvious consequence of that assumption: Obama wins big if that happens.

My three decades and the last four deployments tells me there is at least a strong sentiment that we’ve been sold down the river. I don’t see anyone doing anything like that either, but ask an active duty guy right here how he feels about liberals, the media and the prospect of Obama, who played political games with this war, being my CINC.

As much as I like Bob Barr, it looks as though he has dropped dramatically in NH since Palin was picked. Which indicates Palin was a brillant pick to win over libertarians to the GOP.

Concerned? Yeah, I get that part. What I don’t get is how we on Side Street, (forget the WSJ Main Street hokie), can do anything about it other then hunker down. Whatever Congress decides to do is beyond our control. There won’t be any recalls before whatever passes for a bill is plopped on GWs desk.

NOT trying to be ugly, just very concerned-

I have very dear friends who are Democrats and they’re very fine people. And I come from a fairly liberal family who absolutely idolized John F. Kennedy. But I have long since parted ways with the politics of my parents and couldn’t be a bigger critic of the lefts unpatriotic behavior. I’m passionate and I don’t pull any punches in describing what I see as the overt and in your face actions of liberals that has bolstered the resolve of our enemies. My friends and family ask me constantly what it is that I think extreme liberals have done to earn the right to be called treacherous and seditious.

I’ve seen things on every deployment I’ve been on that makes me think that the Democratic Party and the MSM had it in for the war and thereby had it in for the military. I was in Iraq when the dems started their debates for the 04 election and no one can tell me the insurgency didn’t pick up after that. They get the news. They see our TV. We have captured intell that showed they followed our politics throughout the war. When Dennis Kucinich stood on a stage during a dem primary debate and said Pres. Bush cooked the war up in Texas and that it was illegal, me and my buddies just looked at each other in the DFAC in Balad Iraq and said OMG, does he want us to lose this thing? Then it was a none-stop who can outdo each other in deriding anything we did there. Abu Grahib and everything else was plastered on the front pages and any time we tried to push our gains or successes in battle to the press, it fell on deaf ears. We told them (the insurgents) to kill us. We told them in those debates and in the press that half of America didn’t think we even had the right to be there and that a smaller percentage of them thought we were criminals. I could go on for a whole blog.

But I’ll share one story with you that is the watershed moment for me. I was flying combat camera crews over Kirkuk and Erbel while Iraqis voted on the national referendum for their constitution. They said in the press that there would be violence and we were supposed to let these guys record what might happen in the cities to help understand enemy TTPs. The whole day there was nothing any of our crews saw but Iraqis pointing their purple fingers at our aircraft to say “Look at me. I voted on our constitution.“ Despite the heavy news coverage wailing about the carnage that would ensue, they went out in numbers Americans never dreamed of. My crew chiefs ended up being very excited and we were all anxious to get back to Anaconda to see the news. There was almost nothing. Less the next day. We as much told the Iraqi people in those days after the referendum we didn’t care about them. It was a milestone the press wouldn’t let the Bush Administration put in the plus column. Just one of many.
Liberal America wants us to lose to prove their point. So like I said, to a great extent, I blame them.”

John Murtha and John Kerry have both gone on the record to say our tactics in Iraq were in so many words, cruel or criminal. John Murtha convicted marines from Haditha almost before they even had their rights read to them. And by Kerry characterizing our looking for IED makers by night raid as terroristic, (And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the–of–the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not… ) I guess he prefers the sight of a burning US vehicle with the occupants strewn on MSR Tampa.

How long would it take for someone to list the endless parade of negative stories from just the New York Times about we in the military, the war in general and our country as a whole. I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say they and a good majority of liberal America sided with our enemies while we were on the field of battle.

I can guarantee we won’t forget.

Sorry so long. Keep the faith and don’t let them win!
