Goracle calls for civil disobedience to prevent construction of dirty coal plants

posted at 9:50 pm on September 24, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

The truly frightening thing? He’s actually to the right of a member of the Democratic ticket on this subject.

Nobel Peace Prize winner and environmental crusader Al Gore urged young people on Wednesday to engage in civil disobedience to stop the construction of coal plants without the ability to store carbon…

“If you’re a young person looking at the future of this planet and looking at what is being done right now, and not done, I believe we have reached the stage where it is time for civil disobedience to prevent the construction of new coal plants that do not have carbon capture and sequestration,” Gore told the Clinton Global Initiative gathering to loud applause.

“I believe for a carbon company to spend money convincing the stock-buying public that the risk from the global climate crisis is not that great represents a form of stock fraud because they are misrepresenting a material fact,” he said. “I hope these state attorney generals around the country will take some action on that.”

No word yet on whether he’s drawing the line at coal — and why would he? — or whether his “direct action” plan applies to industries across the board upon whose emission levels the Goracle frowns. Exit question: How much jail time will this sort of civil disobedience net you? Exit answer: In the UK, zero.

ONE: You shall have no other Oracles before Me.

TWO: You shall not make for yourself any carbon images–any likeness of anything carbon that is in heaven above, or of anything carbon that is in the earth beneath, or anything carbon that is in the water under the earth.

THREE: You shall not ever take the name of the Goracle your Oracle in vain.

FOUR: Remember my birthday, and keep it carbon free unless you have credits that you bought from me.

FIVE: Honor me instead of your father and your mother especially if they don’t believe in global warming.

SIX: You shall not ever malign me or else you be apostates.

SEVEN: You shall not commit adultery with my wife, but I can with your wife and your daughters.

EIGHT: You shall not ever steal my carbon credits.

NINE: You shall not raise any challenges to the most holy doctrine of global warming.

TEN: You shall not covet any of my mansions; you shall not covet my private jets, nor my SUV’s, nor my pizza, nor my Krispe Kreame dounuts, nor my Biggie Fries, nor my hot fudge sundaes.

Global warming might kill me, this I know,
Though my thermostat is turned down, oh so low.
Though my lights are all set on dim,
Still Lord Al bids me to scrimp more for Him.

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

Though my Honda is oh so slow,
With my mind in his hands I’ll go.
On through life, to others let come what may,
He’ll be fling in a private jet going His Lordly way.

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

Though I am no longer young,
I have learned so much which He’s begun.
Let me live in a cave like my ancestors did for The Goracle with a smile,
Go with Him the extra carbon credit pile.

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

When the days are hot and long,
In my mind He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
“Let Me be clear, I am The Goracle that you must hear.”

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

When His work in America is done,
And His bank accounts weigh a ton.
He will take my roof above,
Then I’ll understand all about His love.

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

I praise The Goracle, does he know?
Have I ever told Him so?
The Goracle loves to hear me say,
That I will buy His carbon credits every day.

Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
Yes, Global warming might kill me!
The Goracle tells me so.

Look over the descriptions of the following 2 houses and see if you can tell which belongs to “The one who calls himself an environmentalist.”

#1. A 20-room mansion(not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas, add on a pool(and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone(which the last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern “snow belt,” either.
It’s in the South.

#2. Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet(4 bedrooms) and is nestled on an arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling
system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected after then
irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist-AL GORE!

HOUSE #2. (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as “the Texas White House,” it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

Obstruct new nuclear plants – CHECK

Look for Goracle and his minions to demand a law banning hand cranked generators next, and to start teaching kindergartners that electricity will make their mommies explode.

well my city Springfield is building a new one… to go along with our current 6 coal power stations and 2 coal burning power plants… when Bush offered to pay for half and loan the full amount to build a nuke facility… and our local municipality asked for a vote on the issue of a new coal plant… got voted down and put it back up on the ballot again after more money being dumped into the “education plan”

after seeing the strip mining of the Appalachia I can’t like coal… if we were desperate maybe… but we could use nuclear energy. why not? it’s because there is an establishment of coal… and that does not want to change…

does that mean I agree with this raving lunatic Gore? absolutely not and I will never admit to agreeing with him on anything… even if he says grass is green…

I just finished reading the article about the trial in the UK — very scary stuff.

Protectionist trade policies causing famine and death in Africa? Vandalize the office of the think tank, pundit, politician, etc. pushing those protectionist policies. Abortion clinics? No reason to protect that property either since the folks that torch the building truly believe that abortions are much worse. If I truly believe that the UN is complicit in failing to prevent genocide in Darfur, does that mean I can trash UN offices?

As far as I’m concerned, it stops being “civil disobedience” when you start trashing someone else’s private property. It seems like every day someone’s figured out yet another reason why the rule of law shouldn’t apply to them.

How long ago was it that you saw that because I’m sorry I live in Appalachia coal fields of West Virginia and I have to say we don’t strip mine like they did in the 80’s now they revert the land to how it was before they came and got the coal and as for mountain top removal I see the new things that get built like airport’s and homes because they have flat land to build them on.
Take a trip here now and take a look because we’re building a new coal to fuel plant right here and its a wonderful thing new jobs, clean gas its a win win times have changed here in the hills.

3. Encourage civil disorders… and a soft government attitude toward crime
4. Divide the people into hostile groups (race, religion, etc.)
5. Get the people’s minds off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sex, etc.
6. Get control of all media
7. Destroy people’s faith in their leaders
8. Cause the registration of all firearms… to eventually confiscate

A reporter for the left leaning alternative news website The Huffington Post has been attacked by neo-con bloggers and phony right-wing patriots after pointing out that the current financial crisis is part of an intentional coup to transfer unprecedented power to the Executive Branch and place public funds in the hands of the global corporate elite.

Writer Larisa Alexandrovna, makes a number of salient points in an article entitled “Welcome to the final stages of the coup…“.

Referring to the Bush administration’s “Wall Street bailout bill“, Alexandrovna warns that a fascist coup is in it’s closing stages, describing the proposed legislation as “treachery being conducted in the light of day.”

Still making friends on this site I see, huh MB4. And of course he is a turd, FiveWays. Careful. The more time you spend near him, the more he smears you with his excrement.

Seems he can’t go a day without pissing people off. Quite the little game he’s got going on here. Must be so much fun for him.

wise_man on September 24, 2008 at 10:56 PM

It’ll be interesting to see how those flowery VW buses stand up to bulldozers and backhoes.

AubieJon on September 24, 2008 at 10:57 PM

I believe we have reached the stage where it is time for direct action to prevent the destruction of our civilization by Gaia-worshipping thugs.

Master Shake on September 24, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Good stuff, MB4. Are your parodies compiled on a website somewhere besides this one?

joewm315 on September 24, 2008 at 10:34 PM

Nope. Just in a draft email folder and here and there, here.

MB4 on September 24, 2008 at 11:03 PM

Of course, the Goracle won’t go anywhere NEAR any of these protests… he’ll get his Gorebots to do it. If he shows up at one, he’s likely to get whacked by a union guy who wants the work.
And, yes, he did take a bath in the recent Lehman Brothers meltdown.

Atlas Shrugged is coming to life before our very eyes.

dugan on September 24, 2008 at 10:45 PM

I feel that too. Gore is just pissed because that 700 billion was supposed to be his.

Are you two both still in kindergarten? You will never get promoted to first grade if you keep acting out like this.

MB4 on September 24, 2008 at 11:11 PM

Considering all of Gore’s investments in the green-industry I wonder if encouraging the harassment of his competitors might violate federal racketeering laws or something…

FloatingRock on September 24, 2008 at 11:16 PM

What exactly is the wooden blowhard advocating as civil disobedience? A bunch of granola-chompers handcuffing themselves to backhoes?

whitetop on September 24, 2008 at 11:17 PM

Would it be civil disobedience back at the protesters if the construction workers were to bulldoze them flat and entomb the remains in concrete?

What a terrible suggestion, you should be ashamed! If they did that the rotting corpses would weaken the foundation!

yeah wise man, and for those people who don’t think that MBTurd is a troll; then what exactly is a troll?

FiveWays on September 24, 2008 at 11:27 PM

Most coal plants are out of the way. Arrest them, fine them, hassle them, and only the rich ones stay. Even they eventually tire of it. Remember Martin Sheen? Even he got tired of getting arrested. It does get expensive.

I sorry for being so thoughtless. Would if they were simply bulldozed flat and left for the coyotes?

Bishop on September 24, 2008 at 11:31 PM

“Would”? “What if…”

Bishop on September 24, 2008 at 11:33 PM

Someone should pull a little civil disobedience at his Tn. mansion. You know, nothing violent, just take your dogs walking on his lawn. And lay down in his drive-way. It’s for the earth, man.

P.S. Gore is a geo-nazi.

Your comments in this thread directed at MB4 are excellent examples of troll material. Wise_man taking your side and piling on MB4 in support of your unprovoked troll attack at 10:06 is also a good example.
