Video: NRA drops four new ads on Obama

Currently airing in Pennsylvania and coming soon to a swing state near you. They’re all worth watching but here’s the one that should get the most attention. I eagerly await the media’s decoding of these very conservative, very anti-Obama, and therefore per se very racist spots.
Exit question: Does Joe Biden approve this message?

Biden is voting McCain, cuz he doesn’t want Obama to take his guns!
lorien1973 on September 22, 2008 at 4:25 PM
How awesome is the scary screech noise when they show obama in gritty black and white?
this. ad. is. awesome.
Vincenzo on September 22, 2008 at 4:26 PM
That man has blue eyes and blond hair; why is he so racist against Barack Alinsky?
carbon_footprint on September 22, 2008 at 4:28 PM

Well, these ads should make Michael Dukakis wet his pants more than he already has.
Slublog on September 22, 2008 at 4:30 PM

Sue on September 22, 2008 at 4:31 PM
That ad is a distraction.
Martin on September 22, 2008 at 4:31 PM
Looked at it again…the only black item in the ad…….a black dog…racist, racist, raciasto.
right2bright on September 22, 2008 at 4:32 PM
Obama is pictured in black and white. That’s raaccciisssst!
(Not to mention contrasting him with white people who live in white houses and go to white churches. I suppose picturing black people with guns would be racist, as it would have Willie Horton or gangsta overtones)
Can’t say anything about Obama and guns. Or you’re racist.
Wethal on September 22, 2008 at 4:32 PM
Great ad! Run it EVERYWHERE.
capitalist piglet on September 22, 2008 at 4:33 PM
Good ad, I’ll watch for it in Michigan.
Too bad that flag hanging on the church is hanging wrong…isn’t the blue field supposed to be on the top left corner? Other than that, it would be perfect!
ConMom on September 22, 2008 at 4:33 PM
Hell’s ya!
Need more of those..
And the Obama baby killer ones, too…
And the Obama raise yo taxes ones..
Chakra Hammer on September 22, 2008 at 4:33 PM
As much as I find that funny about Dukakis, I sure would like it to make run pee down the leg of the DNC pollster instead.
SkinnerVic on September 22, 2008 at 4:33 PM
Well, maybe Obama will run an ad of Joe Biden hunting with his Beretta (what does one hunt with a Beretta, anyway?)
Wethal on September 22, 2008 at 4:34 PM
Great,
but they should remove the house picture with the flag union in the upper right.
tomg51 on September 22, 2008 at 4:35 PM
He used the words “cling”, monkey cling to trees, cling to vines…code word for monkey…racist, racisit, raicite

The veteran one was the most powerful. “He wants to take away the very freedoms I fought and some of my friends died for.”
Awesome. These will play well in rural America.

Interesting statistics from the Federal government…
1. Healthcare
(A) According to U.S. Department of Human Services, there are 700,000 physicians in the United States
(B) There are 120,000 accidental deaths caused by physicians per year
(C) The ratio of accidental deaths per physician is 0.171
2. Gun Ownership
(A) According to the FBI, there are 80,000,000 gun owners in the U.S. (yes… 80 million, many in “swing states.”)
(B) There are 1,500 accidental gun deaths per year
(C) The ratio of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188
3. Conclusion:
According to the government’s own statistics, you are 9,000 times more likely to be accidentially killed by your doctor, than by a gun owner.

The 2008 election was close – so close, in fact, that the process established by the Constitution was useless. The House and the Senate, inspired by a suggestion given by Gov. Palin, determined that the election would be settled by an ice-fishing contest between the presidential contenders scheduled for December on Lake Wobegone in Minnesota.
Each man would be given the privacy of an ice-fishing hut; the one who had caught the most fish in a three day period would be declared the winner.
At the end of day one, Mr. Cain returned to the shore with 10 fish. Mr. Obama had none.
At the end of the second day, Mr. Cain racked up 17 fish and Mr. Obama still had caught nothing but the sniffles.
That evening he was contacted by Harry Reid, who was convinced that McCain was somehow cheating. He instructed Obama to sneak over to McCain’s ice-fishing hut on the final day and peek inside to see what sort of shenanigans McCain was up to.
The following day Obama did as he was told. When he returned to his own hut, he called Harry Reid on his cell phone.
“Well?” asked Reid, “How is he cheating?”
“The man has no shame – none at all,” Obama stammered. “He’s cutting holes in the ice.”
ManlyRash on September 22, 2008 at 4:44 PM
I thought the PA countryside was already for McCain. I thought it was Philadelphia that was for Obama, and thus ought to have been the target of this ad. How much does hunting appeal to city dwellers vs the self defense angle?

This racism isn’t helping Michelle Obama’s children.
malan89 on September 22, 2008 at 4:47 PM
If Americans want to explode gun ownership, they might actually want to elect Obama.
Cause the first thing I’m going to do if Obama gets elected, is to purchase a handgun and a rifle.
I’ve never owned a gun, but there is no way I’m leaving things up to chance should this clownbag get elected and gets to appoint a lunatic cabinet of his choosing.
It’ll be harder for them to take all of them away and you know how things get lost during moves, etc.
NoDonkey on September 22, 2008 at 4:47 PM
Speaking of Barry’s picture…did you see the one of him in the NRA magazines last month? It is fantastic. Wish I could find it on the net and that Hot Air would use it.
Dingbat63 on September 22, 2008 at 4:47 PM
White, working class city dwellers sometimes do like to go hunting in the country. And they like to keep a handgun in the house to protect themselves. Which in Philadelphia, they need to do.
Wethal on September 22, 2008 at 4:48 PM
You’re right.
They should do an ad showing a bunch of gangbangers cheering for Ubama and flashing their guns…pissed off about Mccain allowing citizens to have weapons to defend themselves with..
SaintOlaf on September 22, 2008 at 4:48 PM
Clearly very, very racist.
This guy was a rural white male. Obviously they caught him on one of those rare occaisions that he did not have a white hood over his head.
Because we all know about those rednecks…. Don’t we?

That’s cute.
In 2005 there were 30,694 gun deaths in the US, according to the CDC. That’s about 20 times the number you are quoting. Your joke still works with the real number, so you might as well not make one up.
factoid on September 22, 2008 at 4:54 PM
You know, that was probably exactly the kind of “redneck” the professors out here were bad-mouthing the other day.
Count to 10 on September 22, 2008 at 4:55 PM
The soft on crime angle I like especially for the Urban city dweller.
Of course this will make liberal howl racism but the more they cry about it the better it is actually and BO campaign knows.
Why do you think he stayed away from the Jenna thing and never had Al or Jesse pop up on stage with him.
I would try to bait BO campaign into claiming racism.
Dog won’t hunt
kangjie on September 22, 2008 at 4:55 PM
The delightful dilemma is that Obama has to be careful criticizing gun owners, as he’s already had to back off his “bitterly clinging to guns and God” remark, since that lost him voters to Hillary. And he slipped up once saying he didn’t have the votes [yet] to ban guns.
Wethal on September 22, 2008 at 4:55 PM

The words on the screen were black! It’s racist coding!
Actually, I’m so sick and tired of being called a racist, even if I wasn’t already voting for McCain, I would now because I’m so sick of being unjustly accused.
Here’s my idea for an ad: Obama video: “Did I mention I’m black? I don’t look like the pres on those dollar bills” then show Obama doing the Hillary brush off, flipping her off, and calling Sarah Palin a pig. Then show John McCain: “Senator Obama, the only person that has mentioned race in this campaign is you. America is not racist, as is shown by your meteoric and historic rise. And quite frankly, the American people are being sick and tired of unjustly being accused of being racist, when they are not. They don’t want to vote for you because you want to take and squander $50 billion of their hard earned money on a global poverty program that will never help the poor. They don’t want to vote for you because you have never once voted to let them keep their own money. Also, the American people can add. They can add up how many times you voted present, how many times you voted to let babies die in closets, how many lies you’ve told on this campaign trail, and how many times you’ve snubbed America’s soldiers and first responders.
Senator Obama, race has nothing to do with it. As much as you want to have your face on the dollar bill, that design is already in place, and your face will not be replacing President Washington’s. The American people don’t like you, don’t trust you, and won’t vote vote for you based on your performance and personality alone. I’m John McCain and I approve this message.”
JustTruth101 on September 22, 2008 at 5:03 PM
I’m not sure if you are calling me a liberal transplant (which I am not) or you are living in an area populated by them. Either way, come take my gun.

Yup. When hanging vertically, the field of blue with the white stars is supposed to be in the upper left.
Excellent ad, except for the ‘let’s speed change the footage to a thousand percent about a dozen times in the spot’ effect.

As a side note, I’m getting my very first firearm ever soon: a Beretta 92F. =D Might get the newer 90-Two if I can get a chance to try it out first.
The downside? I live in New York. Imagine living in New York under an Obama Presidency. I’ll be lucky if I can shoot a water pistol then.
Feel sorry for me all. =(
Lincoln on September 22, 2008 at 5:10 PM
At the 25 second mark in the video. White house with the American flag improperly displayed. Any good NRA member should have been able to catch this. Not that this invalidates the spot, it’s just not approved to display the American flag that way.
