Reagan was also one of the oldest men to be elected to the presidency. Your argument reduces to one against age per se. Sarah Palin has achieved as much as someone her age possibly could, especially given that she did not come from either wealth, privilege or position. Her accomplishments are self-started, in an executive capacity and in both the public and private sectors.

Obama does not stand up to that level of scrutiny.

Let’s see now…city councilwoman for 2 years; mayor for 6 years and president of Alaska Conference of Mayors; Chair of Alaska Conservation Commission; appointed Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from which she soon resigned in order to expose corruption among members of her own party; governor of a state that produces 20% of our national energy during which time she has replaced the entire Board of Agriculture and Conservation because of conflict of interest, passed a landmark ethics reform bill, used her veto power to cut budgetary spending; C-in-C of the Alaskan National Guard; negotiated a pipeline contract with a foreign power.

Clearly no qualified enough to be president. Oh wait…she’s running for the office of vice-president.

How can this ever stack up against the breath-taking experience Obama has acquired over the years?

Let’s see now…Saul Alinsky-inspired “community organizer” who worked closely with the demonstrably corrupt ACORN group; questionable ties to the corrupt Daley political machine and unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers; got elected state senator in 1996 by using technicalities to clear the ballot of opponents; served in the part-time state senator job for 7 years, voting ‘present’ over 140 times; U.S. senator since 2004 after his opponent dropped out of the race. Since 2006 has been actively campaigning for the presidency of the U.S.

Those are some stats. Crikey…this guy isn’t even qualified to be the vice-president.

Palin is not all that you wish her to be. Sly comparisons with Reagan are the most laughable. She is better than Quayle — that is about as much credibility I will give her. Call me old fashioned but proving herself on the national stage when it matters versus scripted speeches is the real test.
It is kind of like the FredLove express that derailed so quickly. Too many are looking for Reagan’s reincarnation – many of those people weren’t old enough to really remember Reagan or to have even voted for him.

If it’s “too bad” if you hit the wrong button, wouldn’t that tend to slant things against Democrats? Like them “hitting the wrong button chad” in Florida in 2000 probably cost Gore the election.

We need to turn PA and/or MI for insurance. With the economy going the way it is, I see things going South for us. McCain needs a better message.

I think that McCain will do really well the first debate, Palin will mop the floor with O’Biden in the VP debates, then Barry will do much better the 2nd time around with McCain. I think the damage will be done after the first debate though. I remain optimistic.

McCain needs to remind everyone of Obama’s dismal judgment – in mentors like Wright, preachers like Pfleger, friends like Rezko, allies like Farrakhan and fellow-travellers like Ayers.

Barry’s personal incompetence in those who he associates with demonstrates his inability to do anything but pander, pimp, prevaricate and posture.

Hit him at his weak chink- judgment (on the Surge, etc.) and tear open the Empty Suit for all Americans to finally see.

Obama as Prez would be horrid, as the guy is a socialist. Our entitlements are 60 trillion in the red w/in 30 or so years. We just spend a trillion on the mortgage mess. Prez Obama will indulge himself with every welfare program [even his "tax cut" is a welfare program] he can shove down our throats. Socialized medicine will be a disaster.

Having said all that, I must accept that fact that it looks better than even Obama will win, so I must prepare my mind for it now, so in November it won’t be such shock.
