If you READ to the bottom, I say that I don’t think it is WISE, but I don’t say it is UNLIKELY that that will be the M.O. Y’all might be right about BIDEN not dropping out, but this is winner take all to these Libs. Does ANYTHING they do surprise you?

One of my readers offered that if they slip Hillary in after the October debate, it would be a cake walk because she wouldn’t look like such a DYKE standing next to Sarah.

I have UPDATED MY ORIGINAL POST to reflect that news AND THE FACT THAT IT IS ESTIMATED THAT A FULL ONE THIRD OF VOTING MIGHT TAKE PLACE IN ADVANCE of November 4th.
This might be more reason than ever that they will hold the ticket as it is.

I heard one of the “talking heads” yesterday saying that the cost of the bailouts would render the grand plans of both sides unattainable. Would someone better versed in economics care to comment?

I’m not entirely sure, but that probably works on the theory that the bailouts are going to add so much to the debt that the country won’t be able to afford Obama’s spending or McCain’s tax cuts.
Of course, that still works on the presumption that tax rate cuts would decrease tax revenues, rather than recognizing that a marginal tax rate cut is likely to do the opposite.

Oh I doubt that. They know their numbers and the score.

I’m not at all condemning or belittling them or the site or their work. But the number of people in the US who read political blogs is pretty small. The number who post on them smaller still. And of course while it’s unfortunate it’s true that the Left has the Right beat by a good bit.

No, even though I get annoyed by Allah’s pessimism and I’d like to throttle him every time he makes a joke about the use of inhalants, my point wasn’t to demean Hotair. My point was–and is–that I hear much too often from way to many quarters from way too many people that the problem in the US is everyone who doesn’t do as they do and think as they do.

And that idea is never a good one in a free society.

Lets say we completely privitized the system for younger workers with private accounts in investment accounts.

Even if the Feds guaranteed the minimum benefits currently available in the case of stock market downturns it would still be enormously less expensive than the current program.

Freedom and private ownership is what the Democrats really have a problem with. Too bad they don’t have the guts to say it openly.

By all indicators, this is supposed to be a good year for Democrats with them poised to take over the White House and expand their majorities in Congress to the point that they don’t have to rely on political traitors like McCain to thwart legislative initiatives from the right.

The reality is that there probably will be some net gain but the Democrats are not going have the banner year they thought. Pelosi is pretty safe in her job because it would take an outright revolt of Democrats to dethrone the queen but IMO Reid is toast.

Yeah but see that’s my point: It makes no difference how you phrase it. The bottom line is you see yourself as part of an elite. In this case an elite that happens to be political junkies to the extent that we’re here today arguing minutiae on a website most people never heard of.

And over on the Left they do the same thing. But the point is the same–that the people aren’t capable of governing themselves–and I don’t like it, regardless of the form it takes.

Your response is no different than O-Bambi claiming racism every time someone disagrees with him. In pointing out that no informed, sane person would vote to elect O-Bambi doesn’t mean that I’m aligning myself with some elitist “they”.

There’s a big difference between people beikng informed enough to make the right decisions in an election and being able to govern themselves. Ironically, the folks who will vote for O-Bambi will be voting for someone to tell them how to live.

If I see this ad running in PA I am going to email every reporter and talk radio host in Philly and call every TV station to demand they take it down.

How much of this hysteria about getting Obama elected is really Democrats who see the very real possibility that they are going to lose the White House for the third time? Can the Democrat Party withstand a third defeat?

Probably not, in its present form. Combine an Obama loss with the poor leadership Pelosi and Reid are providing in Congress, and you’ve got a lot of pissed off Democrats. While I don’t believe Republicans are going to retake the House or the Senate this year, I don’t think the Dems are going to expand their majority either. I would not be a bit surprised to see a new Speaker and Senate Majority Leader in January.
