try to bring up Keating 5(1 Republican, 4 Democrats), Let them..

McCain was the only person in to testify AGAINST Keating, and got him convicted!

McCain is the only one that faced the press for HOURS on end and took questions until the press got tired of asking questions..

-----------

Obama will not Answer to questions about Rezko NOR did he testify AGAINST him!, Nor will he answer to questions about Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, and his contributions that he got and his associations to them.

Obama and the Liberal Media are covering up and being corrupt!

Hide your wallet!

The Bill Daley reference is a shot across the bow.

As Ed previously noted, Bill Daley was an in-house lobbyist for Fannie Mae.

Translation: Go after Rick Davis for his lobbying and we'll see you and raise you one.

“With friends like that…” is not going to cut it. It’s clearly a guilt-by-association fallacy worded that way. They’re going to have to make the case that Obama has taken patronage and gone along with the Daley machine.

I suspose you voiced complaints when Obama claimed the mere fact that people who were once lobbiests were on McCain's campaign proved that a McCain administration was going to be run for the interests of big business alone?

Another great ad would be a "compare and contrast":

"Multiple federal investigaations of corrupt Chicago pols.

Obama's answer: silence.

John McCain LED the investigation that revealed sleazy lobbyist Jack Abramoff and ended up with him and a high ranking Congressman in jail.

McCain: proven corruption fighter.

Obama: not so much.

Woohoo!! They need to run that HEAVILY in Philadelphia. PA and New Jersey voters are sick of Democratic corruption.

Actually Fitzgerald hasn't been able to get to Mayor Daly himelf, so I'm OK with going after his brother instead. Some voters may remember Bill Daley as the guy who chaired Al Gore's campaign that tried to steal the election in Florida. And Bill Daley IS a lobbyist, which blows the hell out of that stupid Obama ad going after Charlie Black and Rick Davis.

This is 10 times better than going after Jeremiah Wright. Again, I think Obama's campaign is expecting a Wright attack and McCain should not give it to them. Hit the Chicago machine HARD.

What took the McCain campaign so long to push the Chicago angle? I'd rather have ex-lobbyists running my campaign than a bunch of gnagsters. Chicago is synonymous with corrupt machine politics. Maverick needs to exploit this one for all it's worth.

It's a good start, although more detailed ads will be needed. Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and the Annenberg Files should be brought out of the closet. Maybe quote the Boston Globe article about all the money Obama gave to slumlords who let the tenements become rat-infested and uninhabitable--that's how Barry "organized his community".

I wonder if the McCain camp is dangling bait for Obama, so he can protest the ad in some way, then they can hit him harder on his reply.

This may be what the McCain campaign is doing with this ad, so that voters (and maybe some reporters) start asking questions about this ad, getting Obama on the defensive, to try to goad him into revealing something more damning, or at least open the conversation. There's probably a mother lode of dirt on ChicagObama, but it needs to be brought out slowly and methodically, to keep Obama on the defensive until Election Day, and give the voters time to digest it (or more likely vomit).

They need to run an ad that has Biden saying that Hillary would have been a better VP pick than he is, every day until the election also. - flytier on September 22, 2008 at 8:15 AM

Wouldn't be prudent at this time. They'll wait until the filing deadline for changing running mates passes - THEN they'll run it.

Dash on September 22, 2008 at 8:05 AM

And on that subject, here's a bit from Bernard Golberg's book, Arrogance; Rescuing America From The Media Elite, re Mr. Ayers. This is part of an interview he gave to the New York Times in early September, 2001, that ran on p. 1 of Arts;

"I don't regret setting bombs," Bill Ayers said, "I feel we didn't do enough." Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970s as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weatherman logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

In the rest of the article, he admits to involvement bombing NYPD headquarters (1970, the Capitol building (1971), and the Pentagon (1972), and said that he "wouldn't discount the possibility" of doing it again. He closed with the statement;

"I was a child of privilege and I woke up to a world on fire. And hope and history rhymed."

In one of the worst accidents of timing in their history, the Times ran it on September 11, 2001. As Goldberg observes, if not for the day it ran, it would probably have passed unnoticed as it is perfectly in synch with the ideology of the NYT, which is anything but "middle of the road".

Meet Senator Obama's mentor, folks. And consider that, in the vast echo chamber of "progressive" thought, where the Senator seems to have spent his entire life, these views are considered normal.

Great background for a potential POTUS, isn't it?

/yes, I'm being sarcastic, there.

cheers

And on that subject, here’s a bit from Bernard Golberg’s book, Arrogance; Rescuing America From The Media Elite, re Mr. Ayers. This is part of an interview he gave to the New York Times in early September, 2001, that ran on p. 1 of Arts;

“I don’t regret setting bombs,” Bill Ayers said, “I feel we didn’t do enough.” Mr.

FINALLY!!!!! McCain finally gets down to the real heart of the matter! Yes, B.O. is 100% a Chicago Democrat Machine politician, and all anyone has to do is read “The Case Against Barack Obama” to see that! Even better, just check out any edition of the Chicago Tribune or Sun Times to see how much of a mess Illinois is in politically because of Machine Politics, and then try to imagine those same policies being employed on the entire nation!

Not bad for a quick ad. Too bad none of those names are in the national news so that people will know who they are.

More to follow I'm sure ( I hope)

While this is a nice ad, it's still about economics folks.

Where's the ad about "Pelosi and Democrats fail to produce energy policy to reduce the price at the pump"???? When this "bi-partisan" bailout simmers down the stock market, the gas prices and longterm energy independence should be back in the forefront. Pocket book issues will drive the electorate to the polls.

They need to run an ad that has Biden saying that Hillary would have been a better VP pick than he is, every day until the election also.
