I suspose you voiced complaints when Obama claimed the mere fact that people who were once lobbiests were on McCain’s campaign proved that a McCain administration was going to be run for the interests of big business alone?

John McCain LED the investigation that revealed sleazy lobbyist Jack Abramoff and ended up with him and a high ranking Congressman in jail.

Actually Fitzgerald hasn’t been able to get to Mayor Daly himelf, so I’m OK with going after his brother instead. Some voters may remember Bill Daley as the guy who chaired Al Gore’s campaign that tried to steal the election in Florida. And Bill Daley IS a lobbyist, which blows the hell out of that stupid Obama ad going after Charlie Black and Rick Davis.

This is 10 times better than going after Jeremiah Wright. Again, I think Obama’s campaign is expecting a Wright attack and McCain should not give it to them. Hit the Chicago machine HARD.

I wonder if the McCain camp is dangling bait for Obama, so he can protest the ad in some way, then they can hit him harder on his reply.

This may be what the McCain campaign is doing with this ad, so that voters (and maybe some reporters) start asking questions about this ad, getting Obama on the defensive, to try to goad him into revealing something more damning, or at least open the conversation. There’s probably a mother lode of dirt on ChicagObama, but it needs to be brought out slowly and methodically, to keep Obama on the defensive until Election Day, and give the voters time to digest it (or more likely vomit).

And on that subject, here’s a bit from Bernard Golberg’s book, Arrogance; Rescuing America From The Media Elite, re Mr. Ayers. This is part of an interview he gave to the New York Times in early September, 2001, that ran on p. 1 of Arts;

“I don’t regret setting bombs,” Bill Ayers said, “I feel we didn’t do enough.” Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970s as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weatherman logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

In the rest of the article, he admits to involvement bombing NYPD headquarters (1970, the Capitol building (1971), and the Pentagon (1972), and said that he “wouldn’t discount the possibility” of doing it again. He closed with the statement;

“I was a child of privilege and I woke up to a world on fire. And hope and history rhymed.”

In one of the worst accidents of timing in their history, the Times ran it on September 11, 2001. As Goldberg observes, if not for the day it ran, it would probably have passed unnoticed as it is perfectly in synch with the ideology of the NYT, which is anything but “middle of the road”.

Meet Senator Obama’s mentor, folks. And consider that, in the vast echo chamber of “progressive” thought, where the Senator seems to have spent his entire life, these views are considered normal.

Where’s the ad about “Pelosi and Democrats fail to produce energy policy to reduce the price at the pump”???? When this “bi-partisan” bailout simmers down the stock market, the gas prices and longterm energy independence should be back in the forefront. Pocket book issues will drive the electorate to the polls.
