Agreed. They will seize on the crisis to hold us hostage to their redistributive demands and advance their transformative agenda. Toward the end of this week, folks will see Congress becoming loaded up with poison pills. and markets will start unraveling again. I think we can count on it.

With a FDR-like restructuring being imminent, I cannot imagine a worse time to have a radical leftist President and a Congress led by the likes of Reid and Pelosi.

Perhaps the single most pointed question raised in these discussions and an excellent one.

On the one hand, the Drive-Bys have invested so much into the Obama campaign – to the point where they are obviously in the tank for him and equally obviously, don’t seem to mind all that much if flyover America notices.

On the other hand, the members of the Drive-By media share a liberal mindset, which means they are fickle, vindictive and narcissistic. In the past they have turned on chosen favorites who disappointed them, and, like a school of journalistic piranha, devoured the candidates in public feeding frenzies.

I guess the answer will lie in just how far in the polls Obama falls.

If he stays neck-and-neck with McCain, I expect the Drive-Bys will continue their Herculean effort to suppress the negative and accentuate the positive in the expectation that after he is elected he will revive the Fairness Doctrine.

However, if a seismic event occurs that triggers a sea change in public opinion and his poll numbers begin to plummet – if he should be exposed, beyond doubt, for the fraud he is and his defeat in November appears inevitable -my gut tells me the Drive-Bys will eviscerate him in a last-minute effort to redeem their credibility

I could be mistaken. Anyone else want to hazard a guess?

Actively supporting Newt’s proposals WILL do yourself the favor of telling your elected officials where your vote goes.

If you actually believe that the man who wrote that piece of infantilia or the people who appllauded him are even capable of rational analysis, you’ve got your head where sounds don’t reach.

Dodd, Franks, and Rangel should be relieved of their chairmanships on their respective vital committees. They have abused their power to the detriment of the American people. Jim Johnson, Raines, Gorelick, etal should be the subjects of full investigation for their corruption. If they are not breaking rocks in a federal prison and forced to return their “windfall profits”, there is no justice. The community reinvestment bills should be declared null and void. Pelosi and Reid should be relieved of their leadership positions; they are a big FAIL, interested only in playing politics in order to grasp power.

As far as the breaking “astroturfing” news is concerned, we can me sure that Axelrod’s past political “successes” can be attributed to this sleazy practice. In the minds of the astroturfers, this method is rationalized as their version of swiftboating, except that what the swiftboat crew did was to expose the truth, not to manufacture lies. Is it the use of astroturfing that made Obama and his surrogates so confident that “the gloves are off” and that THE ONE would have a mandate at the voting booth. Dirty politics, dirty people.

Utter noob question: does the treasury actually have this amount in cash, or do we issue a bunch of new bonds to cover this, or print money, or what?

If we’re generating 700 Bil ex nihlo to pay this debt, is that a big enough amount to have a measurable effect on the economy?

Last week Obama tried to deflect himself from the negative ads he was airing by suggesting it was McCain that was lying. It got tot he point at the end of the week that even the Media was saying that Obama was going overboard.

Of course not all of them but Fox was in the forfront and even CNN at times. the question is: If Obama continues to sink in the polls will the Media turn on him to save themselves. IT is what liberals do. Notice Kerry in any campaign events?

I think BHO and the media stepped over the line with Palin. And continue to do so at an alarming rate. the American people will not stand for it I hope.

the liberals are not helping their cause using the internet. First the Palin email hack, then the hack at Oreily’s website, not this astroturfing. Not a good thing. what the liberals seem to have forgotten is that the majority of AMerician do not consider elections WAR. They want and expect a friendly yet confortational election. I agree and we can only hope that it gets ratcheted up to a point where the MSM can’t ignore it and are forced to comment on it one way or another. The best thing that’s happened this year is that conservatives (as a whole) have finally caught up with and (IMO) surpassed liberals as far as using the Internet and other sources to get our information: We’ve had to because we know we can’t count on the liberal MSM to give us the straight story.
