New McCain ad: Meet the guy Obama wants to chat with; Update: English version added
posted at 2:37 pm on September 19, 2008 by Allahpundit
I’ll leave you to guess which swing state with a Castro-hating, Spanish-speaking population this’ll be airing in. The English transcript:
ANNCR: Did you see who Obama wants to talk with?
CHAVEZ: Go to h*ll, you filthy Yankees!
ANNCR: Barack Obama says that he would meet Chavez without conditions.
CHAVEZ: Filthy Yankees, go to h*ll hundred times!
ANNCR: He said he would meet in his first year in office.
CHAVEZ: The United States which is behind every conspiracy against our country.
ANNCR: He said it was a disgrace that we haven’t spoken with them.
CHAVEZ: If any aggression were to come against Venezuela, then there will be no oil for people or the government of the Unites States!
ANNCR: Do you believe we should talk with Chavez?
CHAVEZ: We, you filthy Yankees, know that we are resolute to be free, no matter what happens, and at any cost!
ANNCR: In November, you decide.
The One reiterated his willingness to meet with Chavez as recently as May, just a day before he turned around and called for the isolation of regimes that support FARC — like, um, Hugo Chavez’s. A gaffe like that would destroy McCain or Palin, but in Obama’s case it’s merely further evidence of how supple and nuanced his intellect is. If Maverick’s rolling this out now in Florida for Cuban-American consumption, it can’t be long before we get an English-language ad along the same lines about Barry’s willingness to meet with Iran, possibly timed for early next to coincide with Ahmadinejad’s appearance at the UN. The sooner the better, as anything that moves the debate from the economy to foreign policy can only help McCain. When it does come, expect another round of whining from Obama shills like Joe Klein about how the Messiah never said he’d meet with Ahmadinejad specifically, since, after all, he’s not the one who holds real power in Iran. True enough. Here’s the latest from the guy who holds real power. See if that makes you feel better.
Update: Ah, here’s the English version.

Or democrats.
Republicans, at least, eat their own when they turn into buttwipes. Democrats keep re-electing them.

As someone who has married a Venezuelan and has been to that country four times in the last five years (once for my own wedding), and I know many Venezuelans thru my wife who live in the Twin Cities, I can personally attest to this.

Hugo Chaves is a very dangerous guy. He is spending a lot of money to broaden his communist agenda in South America. So far is working.
pukara61 on September 19, 2008 at 4:33 PM
¿Obama, puede reunirse con Chávez? ¡ Si se puede!
AverageJoe on September 19, 2008 at 4:35 PM
The only thing Hugo Chavez deserves is a bullet. It should be delivered in the style of Che Guevara shooting a kid, just to make a point.

The gene pool is seriously diminished among lefties. Perhaps they are evolving into rabid weasels?

I honestly think that Chavez is a drug addicted crazy person.

I think these ads could work states beyond Florida. The Univision and Telemundo networks are clearly in the tank for Democrats, but even they have an aversion towards Hugo. Chavez is a joke and he pokes a lot of people in the eye. This could work with a broader Hispanic demographic.

Why wouldn’t Obama talk to him….obviously,as BO himself stated, he never heard the rantings of a lunatic, US hating, bigot, Commie. This is attested to by the fact that he never heard similar remarks given in the same fashion while he was sitting in church over a 20 year period. Hell, all his mentors/friends were commies/socialists or, ahem, “PROGRESSIVES” who have no love for the country, and certainly no love for anything resembling free market capitalism. Nope, no problem talking to US hating people anywhere…like having coffee with old friends.

Maybe Hugo attended Rev. Wright’s sermons, too. Check those photo archives. And maybe he was at the table sitting around drinking and smoking with BO, gramps and good old Frank, discussing politics. If they ever kick his ass out of Venezuela, I’m sure BO could find him a spot as a community organizer.

More than 10% of your oil comes from that loco as*hole in Venezela.
Are McBush and the Disasta from Alaska going to cut that off as one of their first acts as P and VP?
Not even remotely likely.
But Hotair people always love to pound their chests and shriek FU*K VENEZUELA! FU*K CHAVEZ! McCAIN WILL NEVER TALK TO CHAVEZ! When in fact America actually does a staggering amount of business with the country. Chavez is a first rate idiot, but your thirst for oil has always trumped your little internet-blog-based outrage at his antics.
America wants/needs the oil, so suck it up, deal with the annoying dancing with Chavez the Crazyman, and get over yourselves.

Or, as you guys seem to like to do, invade.

I’m really surprised that we didn’t hear “Soy Juan McCain y yo aprobé este mensaje.” at the end of that clip. I mean if you’re going to pander you should just go all in right?

Reread the post. It’s running in Florida, targeting the large Cuban population, which is generally fiercely anti communist and more willing to vote for Republicans than other Spanish speakers. Most Cuban Americans are pretty grateful to this country and very loyal patriots.
In any case, I like the smirking McCain pose at the end. I’d love to watch a no-holds barred debate between him and Obama, expletives included.

Get over our selves??? Perhaps when you’re done pontificating.
Highlighting Chavez’ rants makes clear the urgency of moving away from oil as a fuel.
That being said, oils value as a chemical feedstock for the polymers that make up much of our modern life may exceed its value as a fuel, so Stalinist clowns like Chavez, or atavistic Arabian sheiks will always have a ready market.

All the more reason to start the uranium-a-fission, drilling off shore and in Alaska for more crude (and there will always be more crude), pump that natural gas, damn those rivers, lay those solar panels and throw more coal in the burner!
Not a bad idea. Invade, ship Chavez to a SuperMax where he can shower with Noreiga in the wee hours of the morning, install a democratically elected government who will actually improve the plight of Venezuela. This will have a ripple effect as FARC, already on the ropes in Columbia, will now have to watch its back and be denied sanctuary in Venezuela, hastening its demise which will help Columbia. This will also blunt any Russian and Chinese plans to establish a presence in Latin America, as they are trying to do with Chavez, remove an ally of Iran’s and hurt the narco-trafficers. Not to mention the nice bout of piece and quiet we will all enjoy with Chavez’s mouth shut. A win-win situation all around.
Dave, spreading democracy is good for humanity period.

You just gotta laugh…Chavez is complaining about the ad, saying he was taken out of context!
