Greta on CBC columnist who called Palin white trash: She’s a pig

posted at 8:35 pm on September 19, 2008 by Allahpundit

Fair and balanced? No. Awesome? Indeed. Via Kathy Shaidle, here’s David Warren back on Fox for another go at the nasty progressive bilge his tax dollars are paying for. He’s kidding himself, of course, about Mallick’s column serving as some sort of wake-up call to Americans about anti-Americanism; she didn’t say anything in that piece we don’t hear every day from, say, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. But stick with it, as he wraps this up in a bow with a point about the Canadian “Human Rights Commission” that’ll be familiar to you but no less gratifying for its familiarity.

“Appalling” things are to be “welcomed”, because they get us talking, according to Greta’s Canadian guest.

jgapinoy on September 19, 2008 at 8:37 PM

Sounds like he wants a change in the Human Rights Commission in Canada and who gets brought up to them.

Gracelynn on September 19, 2008 at 8:39 PM

I loved that Greta called her a pig twice last night.

artchick on September 19, 2008 at 8:40 PM

Greta has really been stepping up in defense of Sarah Palin. The other night she was flabbergasted when the majority of her panel tried to say that Palin was asking to be hacked by using Yahoo.

No objectivity at all, glad to see Greta calling it out.

ctmom on September 19, 2008 at 8:40 PM

A pig without lipstick.

Fletch54 on September 19, 2008 at 8:40 PM

It;’s not enough for Hater Mallet to live on Canadian tax dollars. She wants to get famous–& richer–by doing evil, because she knows lots of folks love her kind of evil.

Greta loves Palin.

Wait a minute, it’s a good thing that she said such vile stuff because it points out that people really think these things but they just don’t say it?…now that it’s “out in the open” we can talk about it? Is that what he’s saying???

I see people “talking about it” every day. There’s no secret there.

Akzed on September 19, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Finally. This time, it almost seemed as if Warren actually had a bit of outrage over this, rather than the continual “Yeah…it happened” attitude. I can understand that he might be intimidated by the assault on free speech up there, but if he’s going to cower, maybe he should consider another career.

Although, he has irritated the hell out of me twice referring to the article as “lively”. That’s a pansy cop-out. The article is bitchy, wenchy, and the rantings of a worthless dried-up set of ovaries.

MadisonConservative on September 19, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Not a “pig”?

The CBC columnist is a POS…
(Best not to compare people to animals even those you disagree with)

Now calling or comparing someone to fecal matter? That’s OK..

Still, I can’t say that I regret having at least one or two journalists on our side.

This idiot woman and Bernhardt and the rest of these hateful women – it’s all very disturbing to me.

I hope she can get through it.

Bravo Greta! Malice is very disturbed as are an increasing number of leftards. These are the same leftards who would have you hauled before the HRC (in canada) and preferably jailed if you spoke with such vitriol about radical minorities. In the leftard mind, it’s open season on Conservatives and Christians or anybody who believes in serving or defending their country from those who beg to destroy it. It’s shameful.

That liberals embrace Muslims (who, had they the power to do so, would slaughter them first) and attack Christians as the enemy of the planet is all the proof any sane person requires that contemporary liberalism is, indeed, a mental disorder.

Greta’s husband was a Hillary supporter and has already announced that he is voting for McCain/Palin. I know it isn’t always the case but they both feel that way. Besides I think the Palin family is just too nice not to like if you spend time with them and Greta has spent quite a lot lately.

The problem that virtually all the people here in canada that object to Mallick’s column have is not that she wrote it – it is that she wrote it on the taxpayer’s dollar.

I agree- let them speak. It allows the conservative base to see what they’re up against. I know a lot of people who are shocked when they hear this stuff like that- they aren’t regular web rats, and they need to be afraid of the rabid left.

anniekc on September 19, 2008 at 9:06 PM

Actually, I watched this last night. Warren was not trying to say that the “journalist” was trying to do something noble. He was trying to make the point that he would prefer to see the discussion of civility on the table and that it can only be done when people know what is being said. He stated that the author was not being objective and that she was simply playing to her crowd. I think if Greta had given him more of an opportunity to speak, he would have said that it is now the responsibility of conservative journalists to refute what was in the article and that he’d like to see the discussion evolve into one about civil behavior.

Connie on September 19, 2008 at 9:06 PM

If she had said those things about a terrorist financier, she would be dragged before a Canadian tribunal. Canada is cheap version of the trash that now occupies what used to be Briton.

Spirit of 1776 on September 19, 2008 at 8:53 PM

I give Greta enough credit to know what a strong woman with solid principles looks like.

A strong woman accepts that it’s better to say “no” before the sex act than to put yourself in a position of weakness by relying on a government to ensure your right to say “yes” to infanticide later, all because you screwed up due to weakness.

I think lib women equate Palin with the popular cheerleader in high school, and since they are so damn insecure and uneasy about their place in the world, as evidenced by their obsessive pathology regarding abortion rights, Palin puts that insecurity which stretches back to adolescence and high school right back in their faces.

When liberal women think, “I could kick her ass in the Octagon” instead of “She’s really a threat to our legal protections,” well, maybe liberal women won’t seem like such unattractive sheep to me anymore.

Camille Paglia comes to mind as a left libertarian type who isn’t projecting political principle from a point of weakness. The Left Dem types that hate Palin because she’s a successful woman need to look in the mirror to find the source of their own misery.

Don’t these liberals realize that we white trash may squabble among ourselves but when attacked from outside we stand together. There is nothing like realizing that you are hated to make you come out and vote against the ones supported by those that hate you.

If liberals just keep telling rural America what they think of us like Obama did, we may win Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado yet.

Although it’s obvious the columnist is swinish, the column itself is simply catty. Absent any actual point, she’s left to call Gov. Palin a porn actress wannabe with estrogen-enhanced lips and botoxed eyes. Her description conjures up a strange mental image that’s equal parts Jenna Jameson, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Pelosi. Oh, and I suppose we need to throw in a dollop of Bill Clinton for good measure. (Hey, you have a better example of ‘white trash’ to offer?)

It’s been my experience that this sort of imagery can only be spawned in two places: the mind of a militant feminist or a junior high lunchroom table. Different age groups, but same intellectual subset. Different agendae, but remarkably similar codes of conduct.

Huge props to Greta for calling a pig a pig!

D: She’s Canadian: so why do we care? E: Hello, it’s CANADA. Who gives a crap about Canada? Does anyone actually pay attention to what happens in Canada? F: who would ever choose to live in Canada if they had the choice to live in the US? Even their crappy music “artists” – all crap – live here once given the chance. Except maybe the guys in the band, Rush. (My husband made me say that because he is a Rush fan.) G: She’ll probably die from some easily curable infection someday because she’s CANADIAN and is at the mercy of their socialized health care system. Exactly. It’s mind boggling how many people on here don’t understand Warren’s point. He’s saying not only is it good for the so called middle of the road to see how truly nasty and hateful the left is, but it may even open up the eyes of the idiot left in this country who would agree with the insults about Palin in their own little group but may see it a little differently when infused with malicks anti-Americanism. To see that the canadians and europeans hate all of us, not just conservatives. Of course liberalism is a mental disorder so we can’t expect them to be cured but maybe the enlightenment will spur them to seek help.
