Video: Palin referring now to “a Palin and McCain administration”

posted at 8:00 pm on September 18, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

Just giving the people what they want:

McCain did not mention the flooding during his brief remarks, which focused mainly on the country’s financial crisis. A steady stream of folks started leaving the rally when McCain started speaking, apparently they were there just to see Palin.

Speaking of which, any theories as to why she’s suddenly pulling out of sold-out fundraisers on the west coast? Washington’s not a lost cause but California is, so it can’t have to do with expectations of victory. Presumably they’re redeploying her to swing states? Colorado and New Mexico are suddenly looking dicey.

Beneath the clip you’ll find video of Mrs. The One taking her very civilian-minded potshot at Palin earlier today.

Michelle pretty much affirmed McCain’s claim that the Democratics are “me first”. She said people should vote based upon their self-interests, not what’s good for the country at large.

p0s3r on September 18, 2008 at 8:06 PM

People should make a decision on who THEY WANT and I DO NOT WANT OBAMA, even if he is cute and clean.

If we wanted a Chicago political machinist, we would have chosend Daley.

I can’t fault Palin for that blooper. After all, she has a “Palin Administration” in Alaska already. She’s probably just used to saying it that way. At least she had the presence of mind to include McCain at the end.

AZCoyote on September 18, 2008 at 8:09 PM

And the only way we can do that is if people are paying attention and neighbors getting in the face of other neighbors…

m064404 on September 18, 2008 at 8:09 PM

Any one know what the background noise on the Palin cut was?

So what if she mixed up the ticket. Admit it, many who are planning to vote GOP wish it were that way anyway. At least she didn’t ask someone in a wheel chair to stand up.

InTheBellyoftheBeast on September 18, 2008 at 8:09 PM

Were people heckling her? It sounded like it and Mr. Palin kept looking off to his left it seemed. It may have distracted her.

All the “experts” has written Iowa off for McCain. McCain-Palin was there today. Their internal polls must show them something we weren’t seeing until now.

InsiderAdvantage has Obama up by 10 in Colorado today. That seems a bit of stretch, but Colorado is a must win for McCain if he can’t pick off PA, MI, WI, or MN…or even NH.

Yep. McCain holds all his current states and picks up VA, PA and OH. He wins. I think he’ll get them too. Indiana too.

But still. Man. McCain needs to do something tomorrow to get the weekend news cycle.

I agree that the campaign must no something…or its just a headfake…

The polls are all over the place, but I have always liked and respected the Rasmussen polls more than others…the fluctuations are not as huge…it will be competitive, but I do believe that in the end, McCain will win.

But man, it would be nice to pick-off Pennsylvania and have an early night.

joepub on September 18, 2008 at 8:16 PM

Kinda makes you wish Colorado had adopted that god-awful “split the electoral vote along the lines of the popular vote” stupidity four years ago, eh? Boy, that was a genius notion. Ensure that the winner ends up with a net benefit of 1 or, likely at most, 2 EVs. Colorado would be completely irrelevant right now if they’d done that.

Red Cloud on September 18, 2008 at 8:16 PM

Obama is NOT up 10 in CO. Get real. InsiderAdvantage? Oh please!

McCain’s problem now is not fundraising at the moment. CA is a lost cause for the next century. Campaigning in NM and CO is more important at the moment to prevent Obama from solidifying these two. McCain needs to take both of these.

I know you’re exaggerating the prices, but there is a point to be made. I heard on a local morning show today that she the jacket she wore at one appearance (I think it said her RNC speech) was $2600.

$2600? Isn’t that a little out of touch with average Americans? I mean, eleven of those jackets and she could have afforded to have dinner with Obama in Beverly Hills!

malclave on September 18, 2008 at 8:18 PM

Spirit of 1776 on September 18, 2008 at 8:18 PM

Regarding PA, MI, Colorado:

I hope McCain is running ads of fathers and sons hunting together, families attending church and other church functions, neighbor helping neighbor in small towns with BO’s voice over “clinging to their guns and religion”…

How great would that be?

She needs to keep that swagger going. The way she was when she gave that speech at the RNC was the best I had seen here. Tough, confident, completely unafraid. She needs that attitude come debate time.

Jaibones on September 18, 2008 at 8:29 PM

She doesn’t mean it in that way. She is not arrogant like Obama and his wife.
Now, McCain needs to be strong on his attacks against Obama if he wants the crowd to stay. I went to a rally of McCain’s in NY. Rudy pumped up the crowd and when he handed the mike to McCain, the crowd’s energy deflated. Lindsey Graham was signaling us (I was behind McCain) to cheer. How can we, when our candidate is making us fall asleep.

jencab on September 18, 2008 at 8:29 PM

Uh, I hope this stupid slip of the tongue doesn’t turn in to “news”. It’s good for a chuckle here, but if this actually gets “real” coverage, it’s going to be pretty obnoxious. Especially in light of the fact that the media has ignored the fact that Obama’s running mate said Obama isn’t ready for the job a few months ago, etc. etc.

BTW… what of the Logan Act that Ed mentioned the other day, in regards to Obama trying to negotiate with the Iraq FM. Will Bush be too much of a sissy to get the justice department to take a look at this potential felony?

I fear that McCain’s ego will not continue to permit Gov. Palin her popularity, and I fear that Gov. Palin’s naiveté will set her up as the sacrificial lamb in the lions den.

I hope I have misjudged McCain, and I hope Gov. Palin will be able to handle the traitorous intrigue that will surround her in Washington.

Loxodonta on September 18, 2008 at 8:51 PM

Mrs. Virgin Baby Momma seems to be speaking in the same vein THE ONE was speaking in when he said to confront your neighbors and “get in their faces”. And they both also are echoing this line of thought that Americans or in particular Conservatives are stupid. We just vote on someone’s looks and do not pay attention to the words coming out of their mouths. There is that bit when he spoke in front of Planned Parenthood where THE ONE said as much when he said we did not listen to the right radio programs or did not read the right books.

I have read Mrs. Virgin Baby Momma’s college thesis. The same elitist ideology that was in it is still coming out of her mouth. Neither of them seem very mature at this point and they certainly have not grown in knowledge since their college days!

I have not been a fan of McCain, but his pick of Gov. Palin was genius. My fear is that it was only a political ploy.

This is an opportunity for McCain to actually accomplish the reform he trumpets so frequently, because it energizes the conservatives to rally to that cause.

If McCain will actually clean up the mess in Washington, I’ll become a convert.

rockhauler on September 18, 2008 at 9:01 PM

rockhauler on September 18, 2008 at 9:01 PM

I agree that Senator McCain’s pick of Governor Palin was genius. But I don’t think it was just a political ploy. There certainly were political considerations involved. This is politics. Yet, I also think that the two have much in common. They really are two Mavericks. And they seem to play very well off one another on the stump. I think there is a real dynamic between them.

Loxodonta on September 18, 2008 at 9:12 PM

Pulling out of Cali?

Awww sh*t. Honestly her presence would do WONDERS here. Don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to tell you that the Californian GOP is either on life support or pretty much dead at this point. I understand the political machinations behind it but at the same time it seems like a lost chance to take the defibrillator to Republicans in Cali. Lord knows it is depressing enough to be in a Purple state (you drive outside of Los Angeles/San Francisco you WILL hit red territory) where we don’t have seemingly any leadership to speak of (Ah-Nuld is NOT Republican leadership).

I think Michelle O was just trying to make an honest (while totally meaningless) point. The crowd is just so damn rabid they jumped on something they could interpret as an insult.

Palin made a small little verbal mistake. The fact that anyone cares about something to trivial shows the same rabidness in another form.

People need to lighten the f up!

Benjamin9 on September 19, 2008 at 4:41 AM

I know that Vice-President Palin will have to carry McCain’s water during the next amnesty debacle, but I hope she tries to maintain some distance from it. It will leave a bitter taste in the memories of conservatives and won’t help her when she runs for President in four/eight years. BTW, I never thought I could be more dismayed and disgusted at the thought of a Democrat president than I was at Clinton’s second term (after everybody knew what a lowlife POS he was and voted for him anyway). But the thought of Obama in the oval office scares the living shiite out of me.
