Video: Megyn Kelly rips CBC columnist for comparing Palin to “white trash,” porn stars

posted at 4:21 pm on September 18, 2008 by Allahpundit

Blogs were all over this 10 days ago, but better late than never. Here’s Heather Mallick’s column on Palin if you missed it at the time; it’s the single nastiest attack on her you’ll find this side of Salon. Bear that in mind as David Warren — who’s a conservative and who agrees with Kelly about the filthiness of Mallick’s smears, do note — explains that Mallick’s only saying publicly what his Enlightened pals in the Canadian media are saying privately. Unlike our own media, of course.

Note to Megyn: I don’t know who told you that Canadians have freedom of speech, but it’s time to get a new fact-checker. Exit quotation from National Post columnist Barbara Kay: “Mallick is a national embarrassment that we all have to pay for. I have found my election issue.”

Only if we don’t let them vote. Otherwise the libs will never lose another election.

The term, “white trash”, is racist.

carbon_footprint on September 18, 2008 at 4:37 PM

Indeed. If that’s not the equivalent of the N-word for whites then I don’t know what is. Which goes to show that leftist don’t care about racism, they inject race into everything, THEY are in fact the racist. But we already knew that, didn’t we?

Maxx on September 18, 2008 at 5:33 PM

I’m not sure Megyn knows who David Warren is. The guy is brilliant and she should have let him speak instead of going off on him and putting him on the defensive. I love Megyn but she was rude to one of our own and her indignation is no excuse.

peacenprosperity on September 18, 2008 at 5:03 PM

Poor David Warren. It’s the first time I’ve seen him on television, and I had no idea he was so personally shy & diffident. His writing is much more powerful, and he is one of the top 5 conservative columnists in Canada. You’d never have guessed it in the interview, but he is very devoutly Catholic.

He’s been through hell, though…the divorce courts bankrupted him here (as they do many men).

Unfortunately, his personal on camera style made it seem like he was somewhere between tolerant and supportive of Heather Mallick’s point of view, vs. her “right to say it.”

As for Mallick, she’s been sliding down the food chain in Canada for years. She used to hold one of the top print media columnist slots in the country, and her stint on CBC Website is the last stop to blogspot.

As an American forced to live in Canada after the abduction of my daughter, Mallick’s opinions are more common than I would care to admit, but usually it takes 3-4 beers for that kind of garbage to start spewing out.

But there are enough fair-minded good neighbors here to make the remaining years of my exile in Canada tolerable, until I can make it home.

So noted, my Canadian friend. Thanks!

The son of state Rep. Mike Kernell has been contacted by authorities in connection with a probe into the hacking of personal e-mail of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Kernell told The Tennessean.

Kernell, a Memphis Democrat, said his 20-year-old son David had been contacted by authorities investigating the hacking of Palin’s personal e-mail account, the newspaper reported on its Web site this afternoon.

The FBI and the Secret Service started a formal investigation Wednesday into the hacking, according to the Associated Press.

David Kernell is a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Mallick should be a expert on white trash whores. She sees one every time she looks int the mirror. I see why Canada has hate speech laws. It is what happens when when the liberal illness goes unchecked and gets progressively worse here as time goes by. Now that the conservatives are back in power in Canada, there is a glimmer of hope.

What can you do about those Canadians with their flapping heads and beady little eyes. The Canadian version of Maureen Dowd still needs to light a match after she craps because she is, well, Canadian.

I do have to say I am growing tired of Kelly. As attractive as she is to watch the way she turns up the volume and interviews nearly everyone as if they are a predator is getting old. She is turning into Nancy Grace before our eyes.

He only seemed to explain away her actions as just part of the establishment without actually showing even one iota of disapproval.

Megyn kept cutting him off and then settled down towards the end. I guarantee a little voice came into her earpiece and told her to back off. Warren was trying to make the point that it’s a good thing to get that nastiness out in the open. All the charming “good Americans who just have a different philosophy about what’s right for America” are talking like that in private and then trying to manipulate the public about her. They do that with everything, it’s not new. Thats’s why it kills me to hear Ed say they are good Americans with a different philosophy or hear laura ingraham preface every story about a leftist by saying what a nice person they are. I’m sure most of the true conservatives have been sitting having dinner or coffee somewhere and heard people talking at the next table exactly like malick. I’ve heard “enlightened” progressives sitting in their yoga attire saying the meanest, nastiest things about conservatives. Warren’s point was that it’s good to get that nastiness right out in the open. It’s not his fault that he’s not a screaming talking head and didn’t shout down Megyn. She handled it wrong.

ManlyRash on September 18, 2008 at 6:28 PM

The thing that really gets about Mallick, is that she is a government of Canada employee. As am I. That being said, I know for a fact that she has had to take SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Racial Prejudice)training. Manditory for all employees. Three days of my life I am never getting back.

The difference in jobs? Well we know what she is getting paid for. Me? Brass tacks, to kill people…….. Dats right, I am employed in Her Majesty’s Canadian Forces and as such, when it comes right down to it I can be required to take the life of another human being, but I best not be calling them names if I do.

Anyone of the more tasteless terms and discriptions she used, would cost me a couple thousand bucks and a couple ranks. Minimum. Most of the ones she used would see me unemployed.

How come she still has a job?

Well, yes we do have other stuff to discuss Dave. How about your messiah’s pocket lining and destructive stonewalling in the housing debacle. Let’s see: Most money for time in Congress received from Fannie/Freddie, voted down McCain bill to do something about the “out of control” portfolios of Freddie/Fannie in 2006. How ’bout we discuss the bundled campaign donations that were just posted for $68M to Obama from mostly trial lawyer and financial groups.

That’s all just the top items and there are hundreds more so let’s get started Dave. I also have a really important question for you. How will you and your family be doing in a socialist government? Do you think you’ll have enough money left to feed the family? How will you feel when Obama’s Global Poverty Act (the one that is going to give our dollars in Billions to other countries while we can’t buy food or gas here) gets pushed along.

You really don’t seem like much of a thinker Dave, but I bet some of the folks here could discuss all this with you.

I read every e-mail response to that horrible article. The majority of those posting condemned the article and that included the Canadians. Freedom of speech and the ability to just put one’s thoughts out there certainly come with consequences. This is not responsible journalism in any sense of the word, but shock journalism, meant to be repugnant and repellant.

Janos Hunyadi on September 18, 2008 at 8:08 PM
———

JANOS HUNYADI
Hungarian statesman and warrior, was the son of Vojk, a Magyarized Vlach who married Elizabeth Morzsinay. He derived his family name from the small estate of Hunyad, which came into his father’s possession in 1409. The later epithet Corvinus, adopted by his son Matthias, was doubtless derived from another property, Piatra da Corvo or Raven’s Rock. He has sometimes been confounded with an elder brother who died fighting for Hungary about 1440. While still a youth, he entered the service of King Sigismund, who appreciated his qualities and borrowed money from him; he accompanied that monarch to Frankfort in his quest for the imperial crown in 1410; took part in the Hussite War in 1420, and in 1437 drove the Turks from Semendria. For these services he got numerous estates and a seat in the royal council. In 1438 King Albert II. made him ban of SzOreny, the district lying between the Aluta and the Danube, a most dangerous dignity entailing constant warfare.’with the Turks. On the sudden death of Albert in 1439, Hunyadi, feeling acutely that the situation demanded a warriorking on the throne of St Stephen, lent the whole weight of his influence to the candidature of the young Polish king Wladislaus III. (1440), and thus came into collision with the powerful Cilleis, the chief supporters of Albert’s widow Elizabeth and her infant son, Ladislaus V. (see Cillei, Ulrich; and Ladislaus V.). He took a prominent part in the ensuing civil war and was rewarded by Wladislaus III. with the captaincy of the fortress of Belgrade and the voivodeship of Transylvania, which latter dignity, however, he shared with his rival Mihaly Ujlaki.

Pcoop on September 19, 2008 at 6:46 AM

Wow. People are really getting bent out of shape about Canada.

Listen, Canada *does not suck*. They are a great ally, and I have always thought of the US and Canada as brothers…we might pick on each other a lot (calling each other names, teasing, etc.) but its due to love, family and friendship. When push comes to shove, we throw down and go to bat for each other no questions asked. Look in Afghanistan, we have Canadians and Americans killing and dying there for the same cause. I’ve been to Canada a few times and I’ve always had a great time there, the people are fantastic, friendly and their cities and land are beautiful (Toronto is the safest big city I’ve ever been in).

Focus your anger/ire in the right direction people! The CBC and HRC are the results of liberalism that went rampant in Canada. If anything, it should be a “scared straight” moment for the US to fight the government funding of media outlets (PBS, NPR, etc.) and to fight the Fairness Doctrine with everything we have. We see the results of socialism and liberalism, now we need to defeat them on every front.

God bless America and Canada (Mexico, not so much)!

Geministorm on September 19, 2008 at 7:44 AM

Warren sounds perfectly reasonable that exposing this trash to the light of public scrutiny will allow for the CBC, extremists, and liberal hypocritical bigots to be derided by the citizens of both countries. PDS seems to be even more effective than BDS at this…

In agreement with many poster’s. If one wants to see what happens when the lib’s get in charge of your life just look North.

This incident highlights that there is no moral or ethical character in the liberal mind. They can condone what you say as free speech as long as it is in agreement with the lib leadership mantra.

Hypocrisy is a tactic. To lib’s it is how they fight and remain under cover of freedom of speech. They say anything they want to defame or discredit those not in agreement with them. However, if their opponent uses the same language to describe their twisted mindset they go whining all the way home calling their opponents every profanity in the book. Thus, showing they have yet to be mature and are stuck at the the age 2 with a larger vocabulary.

No, it doesn’t sound heartless. It sounds stupid. You need to stop watching Lord of the Rings and pretending you’re Frodo. If we’re fighting for the future of mankind, and the best we can come up with is these two greasy politicians, than we might as well kiss the gas pipe because we’re doomed. Better to say it’s another farce election, or comic opera; we’re putting up the two most annoying clowns we could find to ride the tiny bicycle and juggle for a while. Maybe, one day, if the American people get serious, we’ll have some real candidates instead of oily shoe salesmen.

And I hate to agree with you on anything, but you’re dead on right about this. You can’t get through any Sarah Palin thread on HotAir without getting some sex starved adolescent saying something about her looks or what they want to do with her. She’s a mother of five and happily married. She’s also our nominee for VP. If you can’t find a bit of respect for her, at least respect the office she is running for. If she says something stupid about policy or takes a bad position, let her have it, but good grief lay off the sex talk.
