Open thread: Part two of Palin on “Hannity & Colmes”
posted at 8:30 pm on September 18, 2008 by Allahpundit
Judging from last night’s ratings, Palinmania’s alive and well. Sound off below if you’re watching, which you are. She gets off a couple of good lines in the leaked excerpts, especially the one directed at Biden. For the record, she probably would have been in fourth grade, not second, when Greasy Joe was first sworn in. And The One would have been just warming up to junior high.
While you wait, a video treat courtesy of CNBC. Click the image and skip ahead to 2:55 to watch. Surely a man who’d just wowed the faithful with a ringing endorsement of Obama at the convention would seize the chance to lay waste to the Republican newbie, right? See for yourself. Exit quotation from the same interview: “I’ve never concealed my admiration and affection for Senator McCain. I think he’s a great man.” Awesome.

“I think she’s got good int-er-ah…”
We know what “good” things you think she has, Slick Willie. We know. Don’t care.

Ha. Bill Clinton just makes me laugh sometimes. Good segment on Palin.
BTW, when is CNBC gonna make their videos embeddable!?!
CP on September 18, 2008 at 8:41 PM
LOL Meg Kelly giving it to O’Reilly right now.
carbon_footprint on September 18, 2008 at 8:43 PM
Allah, that was comedy GOLD. Nuance in the extreme.
fiatboomer on September 18, 2008 at 8:44 PM
Wild theory…
Bill talks about Hillary stumping, Hillary’s economic plan, complement’s Palin and stutters over “I…I…If something were to happen at the debates…”
Ya think Bill and Barry talked about throwing Hair Plugs under the bus if he louses up the debate?
Damiano on September 18, 2008 at 8:45 PM
Does O’Reilly even have a law degree? He’s pretty bossy for someone who doesn’t.

Prediction: Palin de-balls Biden by reminding the country that, for all his foreign policy experience, he had wanted to divide Iraq into 3 parts. Game over.
Godzilla on September 18, 2008 at 8:48 PM
One Clinton quote we can believe. “I did not have sex with that woman…..Ms. Palin. Not a single time… NEVER!”
She’s armed to the teeth!
roninacreage on September 18, 2008 at 8:49 PM
Perhaps that should have been eviscerated Biden…it’s not certain that he has balls.
Godzilla on September 18, 2008 at 8:50 PM
You know, you’ve got to hand it to Billy Jeff. He may be a nudge, but he has cool that goes a lot deeper than Barry can muster. If you could transplant his style, but not integrity into McCain, it would be a cakewalk.
Star20 on September 18, 2008 at 8:53 PM
That’s the winning answer to any Iraq question.
If I remember Biden’s record properly, he’s been on the wrong side of every foreign policy decision for 20 years. Wrong on the first Gulf war (voted against it). Wrong on Iraq – wanted to lose and split iraq into 3 parts. and wrong on the surge. And now he claims some sort of experience on the issue?
Too bad it won’t happen. Iraq is taboo. the media says it doesnt favor democrats therefore you shalt not mention it.
lorien1973 on September 18, 2008 at 8:55 PM
Clinton interview was good. Very presidental. Not a big fan of Clinton but if Obama could protray 1/10th of clinton’s character this election would be over. Next to clinton obama looks like a little child. I noticed that he only said Obama sould win because of circumstances not because Obama was a good canidate. he did give a shout out to McCain and Palin. A better endorsement than he gave to Obama. not alot of love there..
I’m just waiting for Clinton to endorse McCain at the end of Oct. After the debates.

LOL.
ManlyRash on September 18, 2008 at 8:56 PM
Bill O’Reilly had a good segment on Biden “we’re going to TAKE your money” and bashed Palin’s Canadian-press bashers. Looks like he’s working his way from sleeping in the doghouse to letting him sleep on the sofa. A lot of talk last night about Rachel Maddow besting Olbermann ratings wise but some might have missed Drudge had Hannity/Colmes besting Bill-O.

In my opinion the “Bush DOctrine” is a liberal title to Bush policies toward terrorism. There is no literal, bound copy of any document called the Bush Doctrine.

Poor Colmes. He looks like he lost his balls last night. Oh, wait! He did!
SouthernGent on September 18, 2008 at 9:08 PM
Maureen Dowd makes much of the fact that Sarah sometimes doesn’t enunciate – says “‘em”. Well, I’ve noticed that, depending on the audience, Barack gets into the black cadence and says a lot of “You tellin’ me that this economy is gonna be alrigh”. He does it for street cred. Which is worse?

Speaking of Biden, where the hell IS Joe Biden?

Okay… doing *much* better in today’s segment(s). (In my own tendentious opinion… :-)
Seems to me there’s a danger in mentioning Russia in the same breath with Iran et al, in the list of the world’s most troublesome countries. (In perceptions at least – in “ruffled feathers”, obnoxious follow-ups by MSM journalists, etc.)
Hope she meant to do it. But, I say, roll the dice & go for it! (It’s certainly true, so what the hell…)

Obama’s campaign website is telling democrats to remain registered in key battle ground states, and vote there, even though they do not live in the state anymore.
Obama is taking up ACORN’s playbook, huh?

Enoxo, Obama is in a full fledged PANIC. He’s asking everyone he can to knock on doors and argue on his behalf. So much for bringing the country together.
Too bad he can’t give them anything substantive to argue about.
cannonball on September 18, 2008 at 9:20 PM
I think she’s doing fine. If I have to criticize, she sounds a bit like the smart kid in class who’s trying to impress the teacher instead of controlling the interview.

Pasalubong on September 18, 2008 at 9:20 PM
If the McCain campaign is smart, they’ll have Lieberman play Biden against Palin in their debate rehearsals. As Lieberman and Biden are fairly close as regards social policies, Lieberman will be arguing from conviction–that will force Sarah to be even stronger in her arguments and will prepare her even more for the real deal. Plus, Lieberman’s foreign policy expertise will aid her.
