As Reverend Wright likes to state….the chickens are coming home to roost. I think the truth is in the light of day and McCain/Palin just need to keep telling America how they will investigate the bums and get us back on track.

McCain: I asked for a commission to look into it and give the nation bipartisan recommendations on this crisis.

Obama: Just another ruse John. That accomplishes nothing. Only I know what to do because you just are part of the problem.

JM: In 2005, I co-sponsored real legislation. In 2006, you asked for a….commission. Sen. Obama, your record speaks volumes. Personally, I think bipartisanship is overrated, but let’s imagine for a minute that a commission was formed and it found that certain elected representatives weren’t deemed to be bipartisan enough (like Obama, but I digress) what happens then? How does it decide what is partisan and what isn’t? What are the consequences?

McCain needs to do something very bold on the credit crisis. My view is that he needs to blame government and blame Freddie and Fannie. You make corrupt bureaucrats and government actors the culprits, and that plays right into McCain’s maverick reformer streak. It also takes some of the heat off the GOP for the bailouts of AIG and so forth, which are beyond outrageous.

Anyway, this has to get spun as something other than Republican incompetence screwing up the economy. McCain needs to step up and stand tall on this issue, and fast, or he can kiss this election goodbye.
