Actually, it looks like there was one American killed.

Susan Elbaneh, 18, a U.S. citizen from Lackawanna, N.Y., who was recently wed in Yemen in an arranged marriage, was killed along with her Yemeni husband as they stood outside the embassy, family members said Wednesday. They were apparently there to do paperwork for the husband’s move to the U.S. when the attackers struck, said Elbaneh’s brother, Ahmed.

That isn’t the real Al Qaeda. There was no AQ in Yemen before we invaded. We should be focusing on Afghanistan. That’s where the real AQ is.

Ready for a laugh? I was re-reading the CNN transcript of the morning of the attack, and we have the CNN Correspondent reporting:

“The president had called his defense secretary, William Cohen. He also spoke with his national security adviser, Sandy Berger, the president instructing his national security team to do everything possible to track down those responsible for this attack.”

Hey, how’d that turn out?

Still no release of The Path to 911 DVD from ABC.

Last week over at counterterrorismblog.org they were talking about reporters being pulled out of the field to go and find dirt on Governor Palin. They said it was going to hurt the terrorist watching and were very upset about this nonsense in going after Palin instead of concentrating on terrorism.

The attack didn’t kill 16.

It killed 10 people – 6 guards and 4 civilians. The other 6 included in the overall number were the terrorists themselves.

I first noticed this trend with Columbine when they counted the animals that murdered people in with the fatalities. It’s a bizarre way to clump the dead together and externalize the cause of the problem.

The Israelites used to stone people to death and then burn their bodies in a pit, and not count them. Biblically sound due process as far as I’m concerned, and very applicable to Islamic terrorists.

Iran has a long history of sewing discord in Yemen. This may be part of Iran’s regional destabilization strategy–similar to the “strategy of denial” employed by the Soviets worldwide during the Cold War.

With Jordan reaching out to Hamas, and, prior that, Egypt being targeted with the wall breach, and now Yemen…
