Of course, THIS Congress doesn’t know what to do. But you can bet they’ll go home and think about it, and then criticize whatever the Fed and Treasury do. This Congress is the most shameless group of second-guessers this country has ever seen.

Don’t ask THIS Congress to take part in a difficult decision….they might actually have to stick their necks out for once!

Is this what we elected them for? There’s are words for people who spend as much time away from the job as they do…Part-time and soon to be unemployed. I’ve got to say, I am not entirely unhappy at the thought of Congress heading off to Club Med or whatever it is they do. If they quit before that sham energy bill goes to a vote, I’ll be ecstatic. McCain needs to hammer this one hard — do-nothing Congress, financial crisis, told you this was coming 3 years ago.

He should have done it before, with the energy bill…
He couldn’t. Reid used a nasty trick of keeping the Senate in pro forma session, having a Democrat senator go into the chamber each day, bang the gavel, take notice of the fact that a quorum isn’t present, bang it again; lather, rinse, repeat.

And he’s said he’ll probably do it this time too. It prevents Bush from calling Congress back into session or making recess appointments (like Bolton).
