Coleman ad: “Real”

posted at 11:35 am on September 18, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

Norm Coleman believes that the best defense is a good offense, and he uses that in his new campaign ad, “Real”. He responds to Al Franken’s attack by pointing out its inaccuracies, while using that to hammer Franken for his complete lack of experience:

Coleman left off one accomplishment — the investigation into the UN Oil-for-Food scam that costs tens of billions of dollars and made Saddam Hussein one of the richest men in the world. He should talk more about that, but perhaps Coleman’s campaign worries about how that will play in Minnesota. Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary-General who mismanaged the program, graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul. I doubt Coleman will get many votes from Macalester grads anyway.

His support for the Medicare Part D plan will not endear Norm to conservatives; McCain opposed the plan and lists it as one of the data points of irresponsible spending in Washington. Given Franken’s attack of Coleman not being sufficiently sensitive to senior issues, though, it’s worth pointing out in this election. I doubt that many seniors will identify with the foul-mouthed Franken, either.

If you feel like slugging it out with the best Moonbats™ that Minnesota has to offer (and we have many to choose from), go here. They have the same cultish behavior towards Frankenstein as Obama followers do: don’t worry about experience, just put a (D) after the name and they would vote for a dog.

Good ad IMHO.

TooTall on September 18, 2008 at 11:45 AM

Why doesn’t Coleman just run an ad telling voters that Franken is a loudmouthed has-been comedian and radio host who only excels in public displays of anger, hatred, and just being plain loathsome?

All Franken can do at that point is counteract with an ad that will display anger, hatred and just being plain loathsome.

At that point, Coleman will have made his point.

We call them ‘yellow dog democrats’ in Texas.

They would vote for a yellow dog so long as it was a democrat.

Best yet. Now to deal with the ton of other lies.

Frankens voters would say it’s a feature, not a bug.

They would vote for a Yellow Dog BEFORE they would ever vote for a Republican. It’s because they are gullible, yellow, sheeple.

Geee Whoda thunk it. It’s Frankenstins party that is holding gas prices up to get the (STUPID) Democrats to think it’s Bushes fault.
Just shows how dumb a democrat is. They accutaly believe the gas prices are Bushes fault.

Drill here Drill now.

“O” Dumby sayes he will tax big oil and give you $1,000.00.

DUH at $.75 a Gal less I will save $1,350.00 a year.

10 years = $1,000.00 from “O” Bumby
10 years at reduced gas prices Approx. $13,500.00 DUHHH

When is the live debate?

civilengineer on September 18, 2008 at 12:11 PM

Do we really want a Republican who voted for that Medicare mess?

Oh yea, THANKS AGAIN, BUSH FOR ANOTHER GREAT GOVERNMENT BOONDOGGLE! *Raises middle finger*

If I lived in Minnesota I would vote for Coleman. Al Franken just shouldn’t be allowed to be in the Senate. He would bring the level of discourse down.

terryannonline on September 18, 2008 at 12:18 PM

Also, Bill O’Reilly should invite Coleman on his show. O’Reilly hates Franken so much he can’t even call him by his name, instead, he refers to him as Stuart Smalley.

I’ve seen where the Coleman camp is just now opening another front on Franken having to do with Air America’s financial fiasco-the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club of New York charity which “loaned” Air America money to keep it on the air.
Michelle and Ed and Brian Maloney covered that mess well. At the time,I used to visit the “non”-official Air America blog and ask about the scandal. I was…believe it or not…treated impolitely!
Franken doesn’t mention his part in the fiasco, so it’s good that Coleman is letting Minnesotans hear the truth. They can make up their own minds, and I think Franken is sunk, even without this most recent black mark on his character.

…wait a minute…a bumpersticker is coming to me….

*OOOOOO-WEEEEEE-OOOOOO*

“C’mon, Minnesota. Send another smart-ass to the Senate. Vote Franken!”

If Ventura can be governor, so can Franken. Maybe we can get Bozo the Clown or Peewee Herman to move to the Land of 10000 Lakes. He’d be a step up….

Walmart has actually delivered lower drug costs to more people than Medicare Part D ever has or ever will.

And Walmart doesn’t cost us billions in taxes every year!

LESSON: Reagan was right!!! Government is the problem.

Frankenslime has got to go. How bout back where he came from. I wish a local reporter would ask him the question, “If you aren’t elected, where will you live after the election?”
The only reason he’s here is to be elected by his Hollywood comrades.

oakpack on September 18, 2008 at 5:48 PM

Of all the Coleman ads I’ve seen so far, that is BY FAR THE BEST! Good job by the Coleman campaign.

AL FRANKEN?? No way.
