Woman with 14% approval rating: Just a reminder that Hillary’s supporters are backing Obama
posted at 8:07 pm on September 17, 2008 by Allahpundit
Is Congress’s approval rating still 14 percent, actually? I’ve been goofing on her for that for so long I’m sure it must be out of date. Let me check. Yep — out of date. They’re at 23 percent now, with a better than even chance of another downturn once Reid’s latest bon mot about no one knowing what to do about the economy starts to penetrate.
The 23% Speaker is technically correct here but misses the larger point: It’s true, a majority of Hillary fans are backing Obama, as would a majority of the supporters of any failed Democratic candidate. It’s also true that the minority of them who aren’t supporting him is sufficiently large that it might very well make the difference in the election. According to tonight’s otherwise dismal CBS poll, fully one-quarter of Clintonites are voting for McCain even at this late date despite their relative coolness to Palin, suggesting reasons for their support more substantive than simple gender identification. And speaking of which, remember all the whining from TNR and other leftists after Palin was named about the gall of Republicans in trying to appeal to women on the basis of identity politics? What the hell’s going on in this press conference if not precisely that? Did Pelosi feel she couldn’t pay proper tribute to the left’s new feminist pope with any men in the camera frame?
If you want to see a Hillaryite turned McCainocrat in action, click the image below the vid. Exit quotation: “There are millions of us out there who are connected and we’re getting out the vote for you. When the mainstream media says Hillary supporters are not going to vote for McCain, I tell them they are wrong. We appreciate your campaign reaching out to women.”

I’m so peaved that today’s townhall was only on fox for like 5 minutes. And cspan isn’t covering it. I wanna see the whole thing.
McCain did pretty good, even on a healthcare question, that I saw asked. Didn’t see Palin answer anything though :(

I am streaming Hugh Hewitt while I read HotAir, he is playing Sen. Obama’s speech at the Hollywood fund raiser from last night. He can bring his teleprompter to a rodeo ring but couldn’t take it there? You can tell he is totally assured of their love so they won’t mind if he unable to speak. Good grief he is painful to listen to. Sen. McCain should make an ad comparing Sen.Obama’s speech patterns to four more years of President Bush.

Wonderful!
Pelosi and her merry band of Democrat Kool Aid drinkers are supporting Obama. Good lord, this poor country is sick, sick, sick. Maybe it’s time to redistribute the land mass and other resources and let the left go its own way. Surely there’s a fair and equitable way to do this.

Lynn Forrester handled wolfie with ease:
Wolf: Are you concerned that the Supreme court justices that he (McCain) would nominate could remove Roe v Wade?
Lynn:No. I’m a graduate of Columbia Law School. A woman’s right to choose is in the Constitution. The Democratic Party puts the choice issue around women’s neck, like a noose; we are the only ones who can protect you. It is protected. We’ve got 8 years of George Bush and choices got nowhere. Stop using that issue to scare people into voting for the Democratic Party. It’s not necessary.
She essentially called Wolfie a Dem mouthpiece and was unchallenged.

As a woman, I can assure you Obama is not “the One”. He’s not even the one you settle for when “the One” gets away, as the one a woman settles for at the very least must be able to provide stability and I see nothing stable about this particular one if his shifting positions are any indication.

Lynn Forester De Rothschild handled that interview fantastically and new just how to handle the questions. I suppose she learned that from the diplomatic circles she frequents, which is an arena much like politics is and very much like corporate boards rooms (and debate clubs) are not.
No bad vids will be made to hurt McCain from that and I hope she gets in front of the camera more and more often from now until November.

My mother-in-law, a rabid Obama fanatic, is afraid it is back firing and gets really upset when she hears it. Therefore, I say keep on keepin on Nancy and Team Obama. It’s like when you say a word over and over again and eventually it loses all meaning. That’s effectively what they have done with this line of attack. They have made it irrelevent if not just simply irritating.

I see where you are coming from. But McCAin has never seemed the type to feel he is beholden to anyone, and he has to, (I’m hoping), have enough sense to know that he will lose his base if he intends to run for a second term. But then again, he doesn’t show any signs of letting go of his Amnesty aspirations. So maybe you are right. But one thing we know for sure is if Obama gets in we are definitely going to get a liberal activist judge in the mold of Ginsberg. At least with McCain we have a shot at a conservative strict constructionist on the court.

She is simply a pizzed off lib who would be hurling invectives as well as all the cliched isms, racism, sexism at us constantly if her candidate had won the nomination. I think that you are right, Allah. PUMAs’ beef with Obama goes beyond his Y chromosome. There’s been a split long a-coming between the center left and the far left. Obama is yet another example among many of the Democrats falling in love instead of choosing a winner. Also the Democrats have been quite heavy-handed in their dealings with well-intentioned, friendly criticism from long-time loyal Democrats.
One of the biggest reasons for McCain winning the nomination in states with a lot of Democrats crossing over in the primaries? These Democrats had serious misgivings about their choices of candidate this year, and McCain is the one Republican running whom many Democrats feel they can vote for in good conscience.
