Video: Michelle and Greg Gutfeld on Palin Derangement Syndrome

posted at 11:16 am on September 17, 2008 by Allahpundit

Which one’s supposed to be the liberal in this segment? It must be Gut; he’s shown more tolerance of “alternative lifestyles” on Red Eye than the left ever has, per his comment near the end here. Lefties will quibble with MM’s assertion that Palin owes them nothing — the ‘Cuda did, after all, describe herself to Charlie Gibson last week as a product of Title IX, the principal author of which was a Democrat — but it’s certainly true that Palin doesn’t thinks she owes them everything, which is what’s really bugging them. The expected quid pro quo for benefiting from feminism is dogmatic adherence to the leftist feminist platform; to the extent Palin exercises her choice to deviate from it, she’s a dupe and an ingrate. Hence the condescension to which MM refers, leavened of course with some good ol’ class condescension towards Palin’s small-town roots. For an especially fulsome example, breathe deep the stench from Dowd’s new column, written in the same spirit of zoological wonderment as Dian Fossey might feel in describing a strange strain of gorilla behavior.

Exit question: Why did McCain go on “The View,” anyway?

The concept of drool pans is very appropriate for today’s liberal democrat. In fact, many small kitchen pans and plastic containers can be modified for this purpose and equipped with head straps so that they fit snugly under the chin.

After five years as a POW he probably thought he could take it. Little did he know that the millionaire to his right would complain about being made a slave again, as though she has more authority on the issue than he does.

From MoDo’s column, quoting the owner of a coffee shop in Wasilla: “I’ve seen her at 4 a.m. with no makeup,” said manager Karena Forster, “and she’s just as beautiful.”

Anyone who is familiar with MoDo’s biography knows that, when you peel away the layers of East Coast elitism, intellectual affectation and scrivener pretense, she is at her core a frustrated and very bitter spinster whose evenings alone are always one D-battery shy of fulfillment.

As a RINO, McCain is used to a good treatment from the deranged left.

Like Hillary, he doesn’t understand that the fact he’s running against the Chosen One is enough to make him public enemy no.1.

Aristotle on September 17, 2008 at 11:41 AM

a new tanning bed cost 35,000, she got it used (probably found it on ebay) and used her own money. Maybe she should be like the dems who use gov’t money for their vehicles and chefs and planes to carry them around on the taxpayer’s dime?
Next line of lib attack on tanning bed-Palin has cancer because of her treatments and is physically unfit to be VP.
Of course, this could go against them. If both Palin and McCain die of cancer their first term in office Pelousi would become President (assuming dems retain control of the House of Reps).

eaglewingz08 on September 17, 2008 at 11:42 AM

Hardly…. Bill “Ted Baxter” O’Reilly let him get away with “what can I say” as the final Ayers answer… that whole thing was BO on BO. BO#1 wants so badly to get Couric’s job on a “real network”, he wets himself every time he gets to interview a big Democrat. The only thing that makes him appear at all conservative is that he’s opposite KO.

I talked to a Wal-Mart mom, Betty Necas, 39, wearing sweatpants and tattoos on her wrists.

She said she’s never voted, and was a teenage mom “like Bristol.” She likes Sarah because she’s “down home” but said Obama “gives me the creeps. Nothing to do with the fact that he’s black. He just seems snotty, and he looks weaselly.”

Maureene Doud’s research is invaluable. I have been looking for a succinct description of Barack Obama for a long time.

I hate people who use the word “decimate.” It refers to the Roman practice of punishing a legion/cohort by lining them up and summarily executing every tenth soldier. Thus, applying it to one person makes no sense whatsoever. Vocabulary is just another failure of Chevy Chase.

Love Greg! He is hilarious!

Since the female vote is so big, I thought that was why he went to The RearView. But then I thought about the deranged women that actually watch that show, and I too wondered what good could come from an appearance. Then I remembered that my sister only gets basic cable, and sometimes will have the tv on and occasionally The RearView will be on. She is far from a deranged woman and is a strong Conservative. So, perhaps the McCains were thinking they could reach some out to the viewing audience that are either leaners or are really Conservatives, but do not have FOX or other less biased news sources. If McCain does win, he will be POTUS of everyone, will need everyone to help push things through Congress, and besides I thought MM’s analysis did help in exposing the derangement of The RearView hostesses. Maybe some fellow females will turn off The RearView because of the insanity that runs amuck there!

I just read the Dowd article. I’m thinking the bitterness is affecting her writing skills. Not that she was ever that readable, but this one seemed especially noncoherent.

Anna on September 17, 2008 at 12:28 PM

I wandered through the Wal-Mart, which seemed almost as large as Wasilla, a town that is a soulless strip mall without sidewalks set beside a soulful mountain and lake…

I talked to a Wal-Mart mom, Betty Necas, 39, wearing sweatpants and tattoos on her wrists…

I covered a boisterous women against Palin rally in Anchorage, where women toted placards such as “Fess up about troopergate,” “Keep your vows off my body,” “Barbies for war!” “Sarah, please don’t put me on your enemies list,” and “McCain and Palin = McPain.”…

— Professor Ludwig von Dowd, anthropolitist

…how can you recognize Maureen Dowd wandering, doing “research”, in “red state” America? She’s the one with the rubber gloves.

It’s interesting that she seems to reveal the 39-year-old tattoo’d former teenage mom who’s on record as liking Sarah in the same light as the “boisterous” women who didn’t seem to as much…well…maybe she just doesn’t speak redneck fluently enough to understand the nuances of their self-descriptions….

I’m surprised that she went into Wal*Mart, though, plucky little Maureen. I’d bet that she didn’t buy anything.

Her article, while vile in its shallow characterizations of Sarah and the assumptions she makes of those she believes support Sarah, is instructive: this undiluted, rather snotty screed is yet another peek into the view the elite Left has of the majority. Being an elite, you have to be in the minority…so, those upon whom you urinate from the height of your own self-awarded great height are the majority.

This campaign is showing the Left — and the Democratic Party in particular — for the peevish, totalitarian, whiney, and frankly rather fragile gaggle of snobs that they are.

Leftist celebrities and their jesters routinely cast us all as hillbillies so much that it’s becoming a badge of honor. I’d be proud to wear a “Hillbillies for McCain” button, and the nearest thing qualifying for a hill around here is the next county over.

Maybe we ought to organize a bunch to appear at Obama rallies in overalls, barefooted, smoking corncob pipes (the women, anyway), wearing NASCAR hats and drinking back-wristed from ceramic mock-moonshine jugs with big Wal*Mart stickers on ’em…waving signs saying “Red Staters for Change”.

Other than seeming to be a fairly decent woman with an apparently nice family, Sarah isn’t anything special in herself…and that is the point. There are lots of Sarahs across the country, from Alabama to Alaska, and somehow one of ’em, starting in the PTA, ended up on a national ticket.

…how dare she….

…the proletariat is supposed to shut up and be led by the vanguard, n’cest pas?

“Mr. Obama! The peasants are revolting!”

“Yes, Ms. Dowd, the certainly are!”

The reason she’s energized a large portion of the electorate isn’t, I don’t believe, that they see themselves in her…maybe at first, but not now…rather, she’s rally pissing off all the right people.

* Self-important celebrities who opine like Olympian gods because they can read someone else’s words on cue (when they’re not in rehab)

* tin-eared wordsmiths who think we’re both ignorant and infested with “cooties”

* liberal academics (OK, redundant) who believe that we’re at best teachably retarded because we don’t agree with them

* right down to all those pompous “neighborhood association” mavens with their endless rules barring you from parking your pickup truck in your own driveway.

…Sarah is a thumb in the eye of often well-heeled, often self-appointed and always self-important authority.

The Left is complaining not because of what Sarah does or doesn’t bring to the mix…they’re complaining because the “prolls” are threatening to get “uppity”. We ought to stay down on the farm with the livestock, hoeing that arugala and picking the weevils out of that endive….

Historically, the Leftist elite has contempt for the people they profess to care so deeply for…they’ll “liberate” them and “raise” their consiousness, but they’re not inviting them to the Hamptons…they’ve got tattoos on their wrists…and probably by their clothes at Target….

This campaign is showing — hard as this is to admit — that John Edwards was partly right, that there are two Americas…it’s just that John and Barak, Maureen and Westchester Hillary, the folks who just got done paying $28500 for a chance to hang with The Annointed One (with the option of $2500 to hear Streisand lecture and warble) are on one side, and all us hillbillies are on the other.

…that means that there must be black hillbillies out there…and Mexican hillbillies…and Puertorican hillbillies…and hillbillies in Kansas, where there aren’t even any hills…and maybe even college-educated hillbillies…what a concept!

Hillbillies of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your assholes! (– Bubba Marx)

Me thinks this would be a splendid idea!!!!Haha.

canopfor

…no…there’s an ethic to hunting, and Sarah’s probably learned it…you clean and eat what you kill…it’s not about the pleasure of the kill itself.

…it’d take forever to clean that festering meat puppet…and who’d want to eat him?

…don’t kill him…take away his prepared questions…make him grope….

Red Eye is hands down the best freaking thing on TV these days. Never lacking laughs it helps calm me down at the end of the day even though they speak on the same topics that made my blood rise earlier in the day.

Good Morning AP.
Um, Palin owns a $350,000.00 tanning bed.
I’m voting Barack Alinsky.

carbon_footprint on September 17, 2008 at 11:19 AM

Um, ask how Obama got such a good deal on his house (for less than Palin’s tanning bed).

I read the MoDo column. That woman is so city-liberal she literally doesn’t even see it. I like how she makes fun of the Wal-Mart and its patrons, as if these people somehow are oddities of her true liberal nature. It’s no wonder small town people detest city folk. Every Wal-Mart I’ve ever been to has a hunting department so, what’s your point Maureen? I also realize that being in more than three Wal-Marts in my lifetime qualifies me as a toothless hick without enough brain cells to store the alphabet. She sees code in everything apparently as she couldn’t leave out the “torture tested” outdoor gear. {her quoted emphasis, not mine}

Small towners just want to live their “simple lives” and be left alone. The leftist journalists and the MSM are bringing their “Big City Liberal Circus” to small towns all over America. They’re so ignorant in their execution as the values they are attacking non-stop are held closely to many of the voters Barack Obama will need to sway his way in November to win.

Classic liberlism, can’t control their emotions long enough to keep their eye on the target or understand logic. I almost feel sorry for them being so self-destructive. Almost.

I always have to watch Michelle’s clips twice because her beauty is always too distracting to hear what she is saying the first time and I know her observations are too brilliant too miss.

peacenprosperity on September 17, 2008 at 12:55 PM

For an especially fulsome example, breathe deep the stench from Dowd’s new column,

The best line I ever heard about ol’ maureen was when Rush said she was married to a bottle of Jack Daniels.

peacenprosperity on September 17, 2008 at 12:56 PM

labcoat and stethoscope?

um … yes please. ;)

About that (*&^%) tanning bed

If you’ve ever been in the far north you know about the emotional and biochemical effects of 24 x 7 darkness for seven months of the year. Tanning beds are as close to a good answer as anyone has come – and if they were cheaper a lot more Alaskans (and northern Canadians) would have them.

In California these things are health hazards and ostentatious personal displays; in Alaska they’re the opposite: health aids and shared freely among friends.

Even Newsweek liked Palin in 2007.

IMHO, the Rezko thing is the Story that has NOT been covered in this campaign.. it’s 10,000lb S*** bomb waiting to explode and nobody will touch it..

Why not? It’s in the Chicago papers.. Rezko has been Prosecuted.. Where are the stories? Where are the follow up investigations? Where are the question to Obama, over his early year with Rezko? Sheesh…

Isn’t the ratio of male to female in Alaska like 7 to 1 or something??

Do you suppose Dowd might get lucky? Do a 180 on her snide, condescending opinion of all things outside her little universe?

I mean, if you can’t get laid with those kinds of odds…Yer Doin’ it Wrong!! Or you’re a nasty, dried-up, bitter old harpy.

BigWyo on September 17, 2008 at 1:42 PM

If the McCain campaign did an ad that had just one word with Obama’s picture, and that word was “Rezko,” followed by a link to his website to find out more, and if he did this in the last week before the election, I’m thinking it could do The One some serious damage.

Hell, just being a part of the Chicago political machine already disqualifies him in my book. Or is that just me?

manwithblackhat on September 17, 2008 at 1:45 PM

Gutfeld isn’t liberal at all fyi.

He is hilarious though.

manwithblackhat on September 17, 2008 at 1:45 PM

I don’t know why the 90% voting block that he has are supporting him… do they knwo about the Rezko thing?

Do they know that he sold out the poor people to a slumlord named Tony Rezko for Campaign Cash, that happens to have been born in Syria?

Odd, the lack of coverage of this whole scandal.

written in the same spirit of zoological wonderment

Great one, words master, more pennies in your retirement fund…

Michelle and Greg, simpatico, together.

Dowd will be even more bitter, after Nov. 04. But, she’ll have plenty to write about.

Should Sarah ask Couric, WHY ISN’T a MAN interviewing me? Shouldn’t YOU be at home with your girls?
