Obama and his Rezko ties

For more than five weeks during the brutal winter of 1997, tenants shivered without heat in a government-subsidized apartment building on Chicago’s South Side.

It was just four years after the landlords — Antoin “Tony” Rezko and his partner Daniel Mahru — had rehabbed the 31-unit building in Englewood with a loan from Chicago taxpayers.

Obama has been friends with Rezko for 17 years. Rezko has been a political patron to Obama and many others, helping to raise millions of dollars for them through his own contributions and by hosting fund-raisers in his home.

Today, Senator Obama said: “Senator McCain offered up the oldest Washington stunt in the book: you pass the buck to a commission to study the problem. But here’s the thing: this isn’t 9-11. We know how we got into this mess. What we need now is leadership that gets us out.”
Apparently, then, we can dismiss Senator Obama’s call for commissions on Social Security (11/2007), torture (9/2007), war crimes (8/2008), and financial oversight for Wall Street (4/2008) as four separate instances of the senator pulling “the oldest Washington stunt in the book.” Perhaps the person who ghost writes his teleprompter can first do a Google search on the senator’s behalf to see whether he had opined on prior occasions on the matter of commissions. It took me about 40 minutes to track all these down.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that McCain litters his speaches with hard hitting statements, then smiles abruptly with a pause, then goes back to reading his speach. The smile seems at odds with the content. By all means, smile after saying you’ll fight for the working people, but after calling Obama out, it would seem a stern look would be more appropriate. Note, this does not matter to me, but I’d like to see him have better stage presence, for the win.

Me thinks Oblammo depends upon the media to clean up his $%^&ups. If it were a conservative who said this, mainstream media’d be ALL over it.
Thank God we have more media outlets than 20 years ago.
People with brains know what Obama is about. McCain may stick in my craw at times, but at least he’s more or less honest about what he believes. You pretty much know where he stands.
Those who were taken in by Bill Clinton are now taken in by Obama. The same sheeple with lots of time & no jobs (evidently) on their hands bcs they always seem to have time to go protest somewhere. I’ve never had time to go protest about anything bcs I’m busy WORKING & making $$ to pay my bills.

He didn’t even show up to vote for it. Not the first time he’s exaggerated his responsibilities in Congress either, as Ace reminds us, and of course he’s not a stickler about carrying out the responsibilities he actually does have.

Who the heck is this guy? Does anyone really know other than his cronies in Chicago? It's freaking me out that so many people can be supporting this corrupt, empty suit.
