Video: Obama spokesman won’t deny he knew McCain’s injuries limited his computer use

Via the Standard, Hemmer sinks his teeth in and won’t let go. Sounds like what happened is they did their research, stumbled across the Globe piece from 2000 claiming McCain couldn’t use a keyboard because of his wounds, then stumbled across the NYT interview from this summer where he talks about using a computer and learning to go online and assumed the problem must have been resolved through some sort of technological advance in the eight-year interim.

Clearly a risk worth taking for a line of attack this dorktastic.

Allah,

Thanks for posting a video of Bill Hemmer!

:)

terryannonline on September 15, 2008 at 1:44 PM

McCain does know how to use the computer.

Elizabetty on September 15, 2008 at 1:45 PM

Obama is a cruel and pitiless individual. He fakes empathy for the sake of gaining power.

indythinker on September 15, 2008 at 1:45 PM

Of course they knew it, this is an election year, they want the narrative to permeate the campaign. The Dems have no substance, so they rely on narratives to get their guy in. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt, there are a lot of smart people working for both campaigns. Do not assume “They didn’t know.”. You’re pulling yourself into a trap by doing so.

Weebork on September 15, 2008 at 1:45 PM

Good job Himmer.

Good job Himmer.

carbon_footprint on September 15, 2008 at 1:46 PM

So they knew all that and went ahead anyway? Stupid and reckless – two fantastic traits for the Leader of the Free World.

These people make me sick, that is all.

thank you

HoosierCon on September 15, 2008 at 1:47 PM

That was worth watching.

drjohn on September 15, 2008 at 1:48 PM

When The Obamassiah said he wanted to run a new kind of campaign I didn’t realize it meant that he intentionally wanted to make fun of a veteran’s war wounds.

rbj on September 15, 2008 at 1:48 PM

It is fun to watch these weasels try to steer a course away from the question at hand.

drjohn on September 15, 2008 at 1:49 PM

I saw this live! It was delicious! If this is Hope and Change they are in trouble not to mention the fact that the surrogate did not mind ditching the older voters out there across the fruited plains. Arrogance and Elitism should have been their mantra!

How do these people think the economy could be withstanding all these challenges if it weren’t fundamentally strong? You want to see an economy that isn’t fundamentally strong? Raise taxes on those who are wealthy enough to invest and create jobs. See what you get then.

FDR couldn’t walk.. When is Obama going to mock him?

Chakra Hammer on September 15, 2008 at 1:50 PM

Okay..so let’s follow the O’baa-aa-aama retard’s “logic”…

So, when someone is in an accident and has to “learn” how to walk again, that means that he’s out of touch with folks who can walk, right??

Seems to me they are forgetting how much McCain has run circles around them in use of the internet for campaigning. I don’t care for McCain, myself, but he is far from being out of touch with the internet age.

tickleddragon on September 15, 2008 at 1:50 PM

William Amos on September 15, 2008 at 1:50 PM

Is Daily Kos the website of white people?

Shock and horror!!!

VolMagic on September 15, 2008 at 1:51 PM

Are they so lame they broke the ad because they knew it would get their surrogates on cable news?!

PattyJ on September 15, 2008 at 1:51 PM

Wow, colossaly stupid.

It’s one thing if they didn’t know – then the ad can be chalked up to an innocent, if not careless, mistake. This makes it look like it wasn’t a mistake and they went ahead with the ad anyway.

thirteen28 on September 15, 2008 at 1:51 PM

This is the compassionate Democrats at work.

They hate men who served like John McCain.
They hate women who believe like Sarah Palin.

They are HATERS pure and simple…

originalpechanga on September 15, 2008 at 1:52 PM

That was a great show I watched it live this morning you could almost see the Obama’s camp sweating bullets.

tee866 on September 15, 2008 at 1:52 PM

Hemmer sinks his teeth in and won’t let go.

I sure hope he got shots for that.

Fact of the matter is the minute one has to defend an ad that is nothing but a personal attack, it is already a losing proposition. When it is something trivial (even if it were true) and the real story involves wounds the candidate got as a POW……… Somebody’s going go under the Obama bus over this one.

highhopes on September 15, 2008 at 1:52 PM

Hemmer and Megan Kelly are like rat terriers in the morning sometimes. I really like it!

JAM on September 15, 2008 at 1:53 PM

Is this the best they can do!

Well,ya know,i mean,um McCain can’t e-mail
and text message,I mean,um this means
that you know McCain is,like so out of touch,
that he’s still using birch-bark as paper,
and like the quill and ink bottle,i mean
think about it,he’s like using a feather
as a quill,i mean,my gawd maybe he’s using
pidgeon’s for mail delivery,like,really,do
you want a president to use pidgeons and a
quill, and, and besides isn’t that torture for
the poor pidgeon,i mean…..(Snark)haha.

Liberals,get a grip,this is beyond over the
top distraction!!!!!!!!!

Buy Danish on September 15, 2008 at 1:56 PM

Obviously the Obama campaign can’t text message either as evidenced by the middle of night “VP Announcement!”

JAM on September 15, 2008 at 1:56 PM

The Kos poll isnt an internal poll they are calling voters all over the country.

But have to admit their methodology is wack

William Amos on September 15, 2008 at 1:57 PM

What a toolbag. They are continuing to lie about McCain’s words too. Notice that McCain hasn’t paid for any TV ads whining about that either.

rockmom on September 15, 2008 at 1:57 PM

I see what Democrats are saying when they say the Obama campaign is arrogant and doesn’t return their calls.

If this arrogant twit is a template for the rest of his inner-circle, Obama and his bunch of clowns will run the country into the ground, if elected.

Actually, I’m willing to believe that these guys actually DIDN’T know about how his war injuries might affect computer usage until now.

Also, I like how the Obama flack HAS to get to his prepared zinger off at all costs at the beginning of the interview! Just talk off the cuff dude…..you’re no Palin.

They should have let his co-host, Megyn Kelly sink her teeth into him. Remember how she eviscerated Bradley Jacobs, Sr Editor of US Weekly regarding their cover story on Gov. Sarah Palin (”Babies, Lies & Scandals”)? Megyn could have gotten him to beg for mercy. I hope McCain/Palin make Megyn Kelly their PRESS SECRETARY. After Tony Snow (R.I.P.) That would have a certain symmetry to it. Helen Thomas would be vaporized on Day 1.

That was Obama’s spokesperson? What the…

He was a rambling talking points memo. He had no substance, he refused to answer a direct question, his mouth was moving but nothing sensible came out, he clipped quotes out of context, and he showed the arrogance that always goes along with stupidity.

So actually, ya, he makes sense as Obama’s spokesperson.

Really folks, Logic 101 should be required at the High School level, not as an optional class in University.

Montana on September 15, 2008 at 2:04 PM

It’s just like the “innocent” lipstick on a pig comment. He knew damned well what he was saying. They knew damned well what they were saying in the email ad also. Obama is a type. A type women in particular recognize easier than men. Men think it’s just brash and being tough. Women recognize he’s just a jerk.
What he is is a jerk. This is precisely why he’s losing the women’s vote so quickly. They’ve realized he’s a jerk.

marklmail on September 15, 2008 at 2:13 PM

I saw McCain’s comments today. He said the “fundamentals” of our economy are the “American worker” and “entrepreneurship” – which he said are strong.

He said “greed” and “recklessness” in the markets were the culprits for the current “economic crisis”.

This guy is trying to make it sound like McCain said everything is just fine, which he clearly didn’t. I guess he’s hoping nobody will actually check what McCain said.

So good job, Obama stooge, you just insulted the American workers and entrepreneurs – and a war vet who had his arms and hands smashed by communists.

Let me understand this – Does the Obama campaign think that the President of the United States sends hackable emails of any importance to his people in government? That’s what he has others do for him, communicate without him having to type his own memos, instructions, questions himself.

Even if McCain were physically able, and mentally willing, and computer “literate” and still choosing not to email, The democrats’ whole argument is irrelevant.

Sloan Morganstern on September 15, 2008 at 2:16 PM

jewells45 on September 15, 2008 at 2:17 PM

Obama camp…not being able to send an email equals McCain doesn’t know how to use a computer.

Right out of the mouths of lawyers. This is one point where the left loses touch with mainstream America, since most hate lawyers or the thought of having to rely on one.

If BO wins, sentence parsing ala the Clinton years will be back in vogue.

It just has me scratching my head that he has people like this stumbling and bumbling around his campaign offices and isn’t considering even the remotest of vague possibilities that they are doing him more harm than good.

Allah hit the nail on the head. They knew and they made an assumption, which turned out to be wrong leaving their chestnuts in a vise that we a squeezing like it’s going out of style. Smart move here would be for the Messiah to make a statement apologizing to McCain, publicly fire a few folks and that would be the end of it and show that he is in charge of his own camp. But then again, there is no arguing with Stupid. JFK, after the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba went pear shaped, had the guts to stand in front of the American people and take full responsibility for it. I believe President Carter did the same after the failed rescue mission in Iran in 1979. The fact that he won’t over this relatively small situation, relative to invasions and hostage rescue etc., speaks volumes about his character. Reason #7894 to stay away from this false messiah.

I believe a Forbes article called McCain the most technosavy senator on the Senate’s Technology Committee or something like that several years back. Several links have been made to this article on some of the threads on Hot Air for those interested in reading it.

Squeeze that vise until your knuckles are as white as the wind driven snow!!!

Meanwhile from those whacky Kos Kids:

I remember a time when the nation was at peace, its economy driven by technical innovation and stable markets allowing the accumulation of investment capital. Interest rates and unemployment were near historical lows, wages and productivity rose almost as steeply the stock market. Talk of investment banks going broke or market meltdowns was rare to non existent. And no one had to write columns begging people not to compare the economy to the Great Depression. It sounds like a conservative wet dream, but it was actually called the Clinton Years.

Intereset rates and unemployment rates near historical lows? Maybe in the Bizarro World. Of course it’s not true but the uninformed will eat it up.

Ok, so the nation was at peace (AQ was attacking while Bubba was chasing women around his desk). I suppose you could call that peace piece.

I was gonna post a response over there, but bleh…
