Quote of the day

“Recent accounts of murderous violence in the capital cities of two of our allies, India and Afghanistan, make it appear overwhelmingly probable that the bombs were not the work of local or homegrown ‘insurgents’ but were orchestrated by agents of the Pakistani ISI. This is a fantastically unacceptable state of affairs, which needs to be given its right name of state-sponsored terrorism. Meanwhile, and on Pakistani soil and under the very noses of its army and the ISI, the city of Quetta and the so-called Federally Administered Tribal Areas are becoming the incubating ground of a reorganized and protected al-Qaida. Sen. Barack Obama has, if anything, been the more militant of the two presidential candidates in stressing the danger here and the need to act without too much sentiment about our so-called Islamabad ally. He began using this rhetoric when it was much simpler to counterpose the ‘good’ war in Afghanistan with the ‘bad’ one in Iraq. Never mind that now; he is committed in advance to a serious projection of American power into the heartland of our deadliest enemy. And that, I think, is another reason why so many people are reluctant to employ truthful descriptions for the emerging Afghan-Pakistan confrontation: American liberals can’t quite face the fact that if their man does win in November, and if he has meant a single serious word he’s ever said, it means more war, and more bitter and protracted war at that—not less.”

Ot….Not where’s Waldo, where’s DEAN? Conspicuously absent/quite/missing,protective custody, restraining order or just an embarrasment?

We will win but it will not be a joyous victory.

Yeah….still would be nice to pick off the survivors, eh Bishop? Especially as most of them are quite happy being slaves? f*uck Islam and all who sail in her.

BHO’s claims to invade Pakistan are some of his only correct ideas about fighting this war. Unfortunately, BHO is just lying and would never do what he is threatening. The fact is that BHO knows of no real use for our military, which he explains over and over in his speeches and his concentration on the idiotic “civilian national security force”, whatever the hell that is (other than some newfangled KGB).

BHO cannot be trusted with anything. Period.

absurd

Don’t mean to change the subject, but it’s outright weird that this site has been completely silent on the financial news of the past few days. I don’t get it. It’s all anyone’s been talking about and here, it’s as if it didn’t happen.

Sure, it may hurt Republicans, but if you’ve been listening to talk radio all day, you know how angry conservatives are at the Dems for all this.

So … why no posts about this current situation?

YYZ on September 16, 2008 at 12:35 AM

Who was he talking to when he got all warmongery that day? Obama doesn’t scare anyone…he’s about as terrifying as Jimmy Carter.

Asher on September 15, 2008 at 10:18 PM

That is plenty scary for anyone who endured the Carter administration.

I heard about it all yesterday and I still have no idea what it means… I don’t have any money with Lehman or Merrill… None of the other failures have really turned out to mean much… waiting to see what happens.

The only real end of this thing is a turn around in the housing market and I have no idea how or when that will be… My family took the hit on the bank failures last year… among the first. We were part owners in a start up bank… sigh… bad timing.

and if he has meant a single serious word he’s ever said

Surely you jest… Obama hasn’t meant a serious word he’s said, or written. He’d have to check with a Gallup poll, and then his wife, to find out if he’s allowed to stand up to pee.

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on September 16, 2008 at 12:51 AM

American liberals can’t quite face the fact that if their man does win in November, and if he has meant a single serious word he’s ever said, it means more war, and more bitter and protracted war at that—not less.

I think that statement might be truer than anyone thinks. Obama would rely on a Wesley Clark approach to the war. A failed approach rather than a surge direction like the Petraeus success has proven.

Liberals see Obama as ending the war, but making us vulnerable to attack. The Pakistani – Afghanistan problem is nothing more than posturing by Obama meant to win an election. Nothing more. Lefties know that and are assured about that.

Obama would rely on the same generals that Bush had to rid of, in order to find the right general to get the job done.

Sad story of the day;

I discovered this evening that one of my co-workers has a son in the same outfit at my son, 3rd Armored Cav. Enlisted the same month as my son and both on their third tour in Iraq. I asked John where he was from originaly, as his accent gave him away as an immigrant. “Kenya”, he said, “right where Obama was born”. I didn’t respond to that. He asked if I heard him. I said I had. I then asked him what troop in 3rd ACR his boy was in. John said he had no idea what troop, nor cared, then proceeded to talk about where Obama was born. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Still don’t know how to take John’s responses.

Gonna find out what troop that his son is in and send over a note of thanks and say his dad is well. Sorry to go so OT but had to sound it out. :(

Question for the next debate……………..

“As Commander in Cheif of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, your decision or indecision will most likely cause the lives of American Soldiers who are alive today. We have the capability of our Super Power status to minimize those deaths, and wreak havoc on the regrouping Al qaeda forces, or we send in strike team after strike team, never to win, but to keep the status quo with American losses as part of the political game……….

Sen. McCain, Mr. Obama………….. what will you do to win?”

These sheep may be beyond help.

Talking to an Obama cultist is like watching the Manson
girls walking wild eyed and singing down the hallway to a courtroom waiting for judgment day.

They have no idea how their savior is going to create all these jobs and fix the economy he is always talking about.

They really think that their health care will be free.

They really think that raising the he!! out of taxes and pushing over a trillion dollars in spending is going to make
us financially stronger.

They really think that Obama can talk our enemies out of wanting to wipe us off the map.

If you ask them how he is going to do all of this, they don’t have a dam# clue,it is all about “hope” and “change”.

I had an Obama supporter tell me the other day that “he didn’t give a dam# about what is going on in Iraq/Afghanistan,as long as that check is in the mail he
promised me”.

I grew up studying American and world history, math, science, and social issues.

Talking to the average Obama supporter,I get the impression
they grew up watching Bill Maher and sitting in front of a play station 24/7.

You are seeing what has been, and continues to be, what the liberal leftest dogma is all about. Families, like children, are throw away people. To them, there is no greater concern than ones self being. All other concerns are secondary to the liberal mind and thinking. The here and now is their life stimulus.

Some may call that selfish.

No greater legacy than to procreate ones self, use once, then flush.

Kini on September 16, 2008 at 3:04 AM

It is kind of odd.

Sure, it may hurt Republicans, but if you’ve been listening to talk radio all day, you know how angry conservatives are at the Dems for all this.

Republicans don’t bear any unusual responisbility for this. It was the dems who first FORCED lenders to start issuing sub-prime loans by declaring red-lining to be illegal and generally harassing lenders about the racial makeup of their lending practices. This obvious interference in the markets had to be funded, and thus we have government guarantees of bad credit … And off we go!

So … why no posts about this current situation?

So Hitch has found a reason to support Obama. I somehow thought he would.

And he believes the man he labeled a “megalomaniac” a few months back is sincere.

I think Hitch would be wise to follow the money, and exactly whose interest Barack is promoting with his hawkish position.

If I recall correctly, Obama wanted to invade Pakistan to get bin Laden only, not because they’re a state sponsor of terror, not because they’re exporting terror to India, not because they have the training camps that terrorists all over the world attend. No, he is pursuing the same old leftist line: Capturing or killing bin Laden will bring an end to terrorism in the world and all will be sunshine and flowers once he is behind bars.

Kafir on September 16, 2008 at 6:59 AM

The military solution for Dems includes “draft”. The party that derides service to country as a soldier, and raises their own not to serve their country has no problem drafting other young men to fight, rather than working towards the voluntary military we have now.

Hening on September 16, 2008 at 7:57 AM

Obama did say during a Dem debate that he would move troops to Pakistan, even without the consent of the Musharraf government, to get Bin Laden.

Of course, the Obidiot never bothered to look at a map, to realize that all supplies to our troops in Afghanistan pass through or over Pakistan (to avoid hostile Iran and Russia), and that if we invaded Pakistan, they would attack all our supply convoys, and our troops in Afghanistan would be sitting ducks out of ammo and supplies.

Meanwhile, the Bush Administration has probably been quietly negotiating with the Pakistani government to give the US intelligence on terrorist whereabouts so they can be struck with unmanned drones, without US troop incursions, and the Pakistanis agree to feign ignorance and look the other way. It’s not a perfect system, but terrorists keep on dying under Hellfire. Or we could let Mr. Judgment to Lead get on his soapbox, piss off a nuclear-armed country and isolate our troops in Afghanistan. You decide.
