The latest Sarah Palin smear from the Left: teen molester
posted at 12:30 pm on September 13, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

Just when you thought the Left could not possibly sink any lower in their bid to smear Sarah Palin, Nova M manages to provide what hopefully will be the nadir of their efforts. Randi Rhodes of Nova M Radio told her listeners that she knows Palin’s type — the type that can’t be trusted with teen boys in the neighborhood (via Brian Maloney):
She’s the woman who shows up at the kid’s birthday party and starts opining about everything from politics to lawn care. This is the woman that knows it all. Will shout you down, will get revenge on you. That’s who she is.
She’s friends with all the teenage boys. You have to say no when your kids say, ‘can we sleep over at the Palin’s? No! NO!’
Rhodes recently offered the novel claim that John McCain got treated like a “prince” by his captors in North Vietnam. Apparently her separation from reality has accelerated with this piece of character assassination. There’s really no other term for it; she accuses Palin of being at least a latent child molester.
Even apart from that despicable accusation, the rest of Rhodes’ argument sounds strangely like projection. What does Rhodes herself do for a living? She “opines about everything from politics to lawn care”. Rhodes also acts as though she “knows it all”, including Palin’s sexual proclivities. If Rhodes finds opinion from strong women so offensive, maybe she should find another line of work. After this bit of lunacy, perhaps her employer should expedite that change.
Update: Rhodes is exclusively on Nova M, and has been for several months. She is no longer on Air America.

Darn it ! A day late – Charlie could have told Sarah all about it and told her to respond – yes or no.

Maybe this is what the obama campaign meant when they said they were going to get personal.

There simply has to be a way to hold people accountable for blatant lies. No way is this what the Founding Fathers intended with Freedom of Speech. There should be no protection for slander and liable; I don’t care how famous a person is.
pannw on September 13, 2008 at 3:52 PM
Let’s not discourage this type of thing. Every time one of these unhinged loons says something like this, the McCain/Palin ticket gains 1 to 2 pts in the polls.
Keep it up!! Keep it up!!

You gotta remember that they’ve had eight years of “Bushitler”. That’s eight years of pent up rage. So, yes they will go lower. This is “their time”. They actually think that it’s rightfully their turn. Damn the election, if they don’t win there will be riots in the streets.

If he has not become an exemplary trooper since these things happened then as a governor I would be worried about the liabilities of him being an employee of the state.

She’s already dragging the ticket down…as expected.
alphie on September 13, 2008 at 5:02 PM
When Rhodes speaks this way, she is only describing herself. It’s the most obvious ubertard flaw. Their mouths run on and on and on about themselves at all times. So, even when they say another’s name, the words meant to tear down a good opponent reveal the speaker’s own heart and mind.
For Rhodes to be willing to defile a person she does not know with false accusations proves Rhodes’ own corrupt intent and the ways and means that Rhodes operates.
Jesus warned about words corrupting us (rather than food that passes through the system, words remain in the mind and heart), to beware.

Your fellow travelers do not share your confidence.
Disturb the Universe on September 13, 2008 at 5:14 PM
First off, dispense with the epithets, and name calling.
Initially, she provokes this outrage, but that is her mission. She wants to be a shock jock for the left because the left thinks that Rush Limbaugh is such and they want to emulate his technique for success.
Remember, liberals *cannot* think like conservatives (on the other hand, we can think like them) and thus cannot think logically or reasonably. All they hear is slander and attacks (which I guess is true since they are illogical and unreasonable hypocrites) from the right, especially in talk radio. Their only technique and modus operandi is emotional outrage. So, Randi Rhodes is just spouting crap to raise the dander of the right and incite the left.
Pay no attention and just continue to see this as what it is, more ballast for a sinking ship. Most Americans will see this as elitist and the nonsense that it is, so have faith in your fellow Americans…just another brick in the wall.
I love it! I don’t want to get over confident here, and I hope Mrs. Palin doesn’t feel hurt by this trash, but I can’t help but envision a land-slide in November for McCain/Palin. If McCain would just get on the right side of the Illegal Immigration issue, he would gain at least 5 pts!

It’s kind of odd that the tasering (sic?) of the child is just noted as “verified”. I think I can speak for most of the ladies that that issue is the elephant in the room. I have yet to see it fully explained but saw it noted in one blog that the child asked it to be done. But even if that were the case how does an adult let alone a State Trooper go along with such a request? I don’t want to be irrational but that’s a deal breaker for me.

(a) Does Randi Rhodes have kids?
– If (a) is true, does she prevent them from visiting those that have “alternative lifestyles”? I would think she would praise that, after all, her kids should be well enough educated (by their school/parent(s)) to understand such things and fend for themselves, no?
– If (a) is false, how would she no anything about this? Would anyone in the *world* take advice about their kids from someone who has none?
(b) Randi Rhodes is relevant….why? Do we suddenly give weight to the inane ramblings of the homeless guy down on the street corner?
Anyone who wasn’t already a right-hating liberal would have seen right through Rhodes’ commentary as ridiculous conjecture. Not that anyone is listening to her anyway…

Funny, I always thought of Randi as the type of, white trash, trailer park divorcee you read about in the papers, generally in the police blotter after she got busted for multiple counts of serving alcohol to a minor, possesion, and statutory rape.
Randi just radiates that sort of “Liqour ‘em up, give ‘em a little weed, then make room for Mama!” kind of sleaze.

Mother I’d Like to …
VP I’d Like to …

Originally, I believe it was a term used to describe attractive mature women, in contrast to a society where youth trumps all.
So, taken literally, it is a crude comment and name. However, I don’t think it is really any worse than a guy whistling at a girl or calling someone “hot”. Really, does any adult female in US *not* understand that guys would like to have them as a sexual partner when they compliment them?
And Dave, I missed the video of crowds chanting, could you help me out? I’m really having a problem understanding how being sexually attractive is a problem. John Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Sarah Palin…you’re not being sexist are you? Or, did you think that was all that we liked about Sarah Palin?
