The latest Sarah Palin smear from the Left: teen molester

Just when you thought the Left could not possibly sink any lower in their bid to smear Sarah Palin, Nova M manages to provide what hopefully will be the nadir of their efforts. Randi Rhodes of Nova M Radio told her listeners that she knows Palin’s type — the type that can’t be trusted with teen boys in the neighborhood (via Brian Maloney):
She’s the woman who shows up at the kid’s birthday party and starts opining about everything from politics to lawn care. This is the woman that knows it all. Will shout you down, will get revenge on you. That’s who she is.
She’s friends with all the teenage boys. You have to say no when your kids say, ‘can we sleep over at the Palin’s? No! NO!’
Rhodes recently offered the novel claim that John McCain got treated like a “prince” by his captors in North Vietnam. Apparently her separation from reality has accelerated with this piece of character assassination. There’s really no other term for it; she accuses Palin of being at least a latent child molester.
Even apart from that despicable accusation, the rest of Rhodes’ argument sounds strangely like projection. What does Rhodes herself do for a living? She “opines about everything from politics to lawn care”. Rhodes also acts as though she “knows it all”, including Palin’s sexual proclivities. If Rhodes finds opinion from strong women so offensive, maybe she should find another line of work. After this bit of lunacy, perhaps her employer should expedite that change.
Update: Rhodes is exclusively on Nova M, and has been for several months. She is no longer on Air America.

With the obvious support of Obama by the mainstream media and the unhinged attacks by the far left I think that we will not just see a movement to McCain in this election but also see a long-term swing towards conservatives for many years after this election is over.

I enjoyed how Obama tried to justify his attendance at that convention in his O’Reilly interview.
Back to ads, McCain or some 527 needs to run a series of side-by-side comparisons of company that Obama and McCain keep with alternating authoritative voices echoing, “You will know them by the company that they keep.”
I’d enlist Fred Thompson, Gary Sinise (I think he’s conservative; he pro-military at least), Tammy Bruce, Michael Steele, chime in with others. For Obama, line up Wright, Ayers, Ayers’s wife, Rezko, Kwame Kilpatrick (worth a separate ad in Michigan). McCain’s can include immediately identifiable giants, including fellow POWs. If time permits, include the segment from the O’Reilly interview where Obama tried to hide behind knowing “thousands of people” and O’Reilly cut him off and said, “Senator, I know thousands of people and none of them are like these people.” And Obama sheepishly replied, “What can I tell you?”
Sorry, we all play guilt-by-association in our own relationships, and we evaluate our family members, friends, acquaitances, and especially our children along those lines. This kind of analysis helps us stay away from truly bad people. Having the welcome mat out for any and all is fine in a Christian ministry context, but taking such a naive approach to evaluating governmental leaders–heck, any leaders–is laughable. Democrats who expect anyone to buy the “give him the benefit of the doubt” argument need to join an encounter group. This is the United States, not Western Europe.

petunia:
This was the one thing that really concerned me about Palin, she has enemies and the whole Trooper thing is just sort of hanging out there. But I am not sure that anyone will perjure themselves just to harm her. I also doubt that McCain would have made her the VP candidate if he thought there was anything to this.

I know that politicians have a hard time suing, but this might be an exceptional case. Using public airwaves to call the state governor a child molester is no small potatoes, and should be immediately called out. This woman is an out-and-out scumbag. I really don’t like ad-hominem attacks, but that’s what she is: scum. I’ll bet she knows absolutely nothing about the governor (like Matt Damon), and yet she takes it upon herself to pronounce her a child molester, without a shred of evidence? No, she needs to see her day in court, and apologies shouldn’t cut it. Hopefully, she could get Mark Levin as her attorney.

Yes, and I think I must revise my quantification of how many it will take to turn publicly. I think if the Republicans remain a serious minority in either house, they will fall in line with McCain. At least publicly. They will want to maintain their constituents, but will enjoy a lot of publicity by being the fiscal conservative party. And, really, they won’t risk much because they will be so small.
However, if they are a bigger minority party (say in the 45% or greater) when they can get some of their own bills passed with some Democrat compatriots, they will be all about compromise. they will be protecting their seats by greasing the ear mark wheel and they will feel that stonewalling McCain is no risk. Even a good idea if they want Palin to get labeled with the “accomplish nothing” label that might have McCain/Palin on it. Worse, if they stick this crap in a supplemental bill at the very last moment, having run the military down to the dregs of its budget, they will force McCain to sign and reneg on his own promise of vetoing ear marks, painting Palin with it, too.
War would be over and they would not have to worry about a President Palin coming back in 2012 to do it all over again.

They suspended Rhodes after she called Hillary a “f-n’whore” at a radio station event in SF a few months ago, then she quit. Who listens to this garbage other than rabid America and conservative haters? In the NY Times Magazine article on Rush Limbaugh, Ira Glass of “This American Life” said he enjoys listening to Rush even though he disagrees with most everything he says, because Rush is entertaining. This woman couldn’t win amateur night at any comedy club, let alone host a national radio show.

They have no morals, ethics, code of conduct. No class, no meaning, can’t hold up to any smell test. Any scrutiny at all exposes them as frauds.
The allure of the left is based solely on feelings…and most of those feelings are of hatred. Hard to win the presidency based on that.
But if you actually looked beneath the surface, the truth of the Dem party is socialism.
stonemeister on September 13, 2008 at 2:54 PM
Actually, I’ll do you one better. All of the judges in every court proceeding involving the custody of children warn both sets of parents to keep their children out of the middle of their adult arguments. ALL.
Even two Obama supporters getting divorced arguing over their children’s custody would get the same lecture. That is without their being any real rancor or such interesting idiocy as tasering a 10 year old.
In other words, standard language across the board, but particularly when the custody battle is heated.
shall I get a judge on here to tell you that?
Frankly, and finally, you have no idea that the judge was aiming at Sarah Palin when he said that, mr. cut and paste. he could have been referring to Mr. Wooten’s family for that matter. I understand there is no love lost.

alphie, so the judge (quoted below), should have told the authorities that child abuse was occurring and that the perpetrators be apprehended. He did not do so, and therefore, he was either a) in the tank for the ex husband; or b) blowing smoke out of his black-robed ass.
If it’s child abuse, then action should have been taken, not this foolish whining BS.
A judge may have said it, but is sounds like he was simply BS-ing.

Sorry dear, but when one of the members of those who are sworn to protect and serve goes bad, those of us who are committed to the truth want them punished. To not do so would tarnish the reputation of all uniformed personnel and make all of our motives suspect.
But you know that, of course; deep down. However, like the rest of your political kindred, you choose to dispense with the truth if it suits your political ends. The problem with habitual ignoring and/or denying the truth, however, it that it compromises one’s sanity.

Palin was not disparaging the child. She was disparaging the father, if anything. If that is what the Judge was alluding to.
Usually, what they are really talking about is that parents have a bad tendency to talk very badly about the other parent when in the middle of a hot divorce. Sometimes, they don’t even realize that the littlest comments about how the dad is never around or the mom worked too much, etc to a child can be detrimental to their esteem and mental health. Kids sometimes take that on themselves and it is already a hard time when parents are getting divorced. never mind if it is a really hard fought battle over custody and child support.
that is why, yes, that is common language of a judge to admonish the parents in the middle of a divorce or custody battle not to “disparage” one another in front of the children.
Kat_Mo on September 13, 2008 at 3:08 PM

She seems to be a woman (actually, she seems to be a weasel who’s been strategically shaved), which qualifies her per “View” standards to opine like a guru on all and sundry. She can take Whoopi’s job…or maybe even Behar’s job, once they’ve deloused her seat. Whoopi’s bright at least…Behar’d be useless cut up for bait!
Maybe she could get a job on PBS or bridge over to NPR, if she can modify her voice and assume one of those dripping, holier-than-thou public broadcasting whispers.
If McCain’s people could do an ad intro’d with “Here are what Obama supporters think of Gov. Palin”, and then string together a host of sound bites of Rhodes, Damon, Pam Anderson, etc. ad nauseum over pics of Sarah and the kids, Sarah on the fishing boat, Sarah in the governor’s office, etc…taking care to insert a many of them as they can find using the word “afraid” in them (Damon, etc.)…ending with “What are they afraid of?” Then, flash up “Palin degragement syndrome: the irrational fear of someone genuine.”
…it’d beat that one they did with the “pig in lipstick” (which had Katie Couric in it, ironically enough)….

I’m under 45 years old, I love the outdoors, I hunt, I am a Republican reformer, I have taken on the Republican Party establishment, I have many children, I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor’s office. Who am I?”

No Offense Ed, but is it really wise to bring attention to the ranting of one clearly insane woman with a total national listenership smaller than the population of Wasilla?
Rhodes is nothing more than an angry attention whore. She says outrageous things because that is how she sustains her living. Better to ignore her, and maybe she’ll seek psychiatric help.

Is it just me or when she’s wearing glasses does Raunchy Rhodes look like Al Franken?
