The latest Sarah Palin smear from the Left: teen molester

Just when you thought the Left could not possibly sink any lower in their bid to smear Sarah Palin, Nova M manages to provide what hopefully will be the nadir of their efforts. Randi Rhodes of Nova M Radio told her listeners that she knows Palin’s type — the type that can’t be trusted with teen boys in the neighborhood (via Brian Maloney):
She’s the woman who shows up at the kid’s birthday party and starts opining about everything from politics to lawn care. This is the woman that knows it all. Will shout you down, will get revenge on you. That’s who she is.
She’s friends with all the teenage boys. You have to say no when your kids say, ‘can we sleep over at the Palin’s? No! NO!’
Rhodes recently offered the novel claim that John McCain got treated like a “prince” by his captors in North Vietnam. Apparently her separation from reality has accelerated with this piece of character assassination. There’s really no other term for it; she accuses Palin of being at least a latent child molester.
Even apart from that despicable accusation, the rest of Rhodes’ argument sounds strangely like projection. What does Rhodes herself do for a living? She “opines about everything from politics to lawn care”. Rhodes also acts as though she “knows it all”, including Palin’s sexual proclivities. If Rhodes finds opinion from strong women so offensive, maybe she should find another line of work. After this bit of lunacy, perhaps her employer should expedite that change.
Update: Rhodes is exclusively on Nova M, and has been for several months. She is no longer on Air America.

Randi Rhodes is a c*nt.
There. I’ve said it. Ban me if you must, Ed and Allah, I’ll happily take the hit for the team.

You’re right, Manly Rash, but I wish Rhoades could read it.

Team Obomica is using the John Kerry playbook now. Excellent.
Rhodes is just another nail in the political coffin for Barry.
Mojave Mark on September 13, 2008 at 12:35 PM
Guys
We should be thankful for Rhoades and her ilk.
She’s not hurting us, she’s helping us.

Randi Rhodes is a preacher to the choir. Her opinions are a negative gain for the nonmoonbat class. Manly, we should welcome her histrionics because it will embolden the moonbats to slip up and go over the line again and say such things outside their echo chamber.
Err America’s parting gift may well be being remembered for its role in McCain’s win.
A fitting overture actually.

Okay, a joke to amuse everyone:
What is the difference between a pygmy political strategist and Randi Rhodes in the NY Marathon?
The former is a cunning runt…
ManlyRash on September 13, 2008 at 12:37 PM
Nicely done, CJ. Nicely done. You have class, whereas yours truly is a bloviating ass.
ManlyRash on September 13, 2008 at 12:39 PM
The beauty of people like Randi Rhodes is that they are self-censoring. With each outlandish and incredible phrase they utter, they make most of their remaining audience a little more embarrassed to listen to them until, as it the case with Ms. Rhodes, their audience boils down to a hardened core of true believers or those who monitor true believers because they can quote them and then classify them as “democrats” or “liberals”. Ms. Rhodes is not typical of democrats or liberals. She is to the left as David Duke is to the right: a wannabe Pol Pot without the army to carry out her purification agenda.
Immolate on September 13, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Just a matter of time before Rhodes gets drunk, passes out and falls on her face in the sidewalk - again.

The fact that Barry is going to the smear card does nothing but erode his credibility with “change’ moderates.
The nutroots are doing nothing but firing up a base for Mccain that was all but dead pre-Palin.

I have no use for Rhoades, but let’s tap the brakes on the personal name calling. Her own words will damn her in the marketplace of ideas.
That said, I totally understand the sentiments of ManlyRash and everyone else. She is not helping her cause, or her candidate, and I wish we could ignore her freely without consequence. But we have to be there to beat down the spread of her own ignorance.
It is going to be a wild ride between now and Election Day.

FiveWays on September 13, 2008 at 12:45 PM
Well, she couched that in terms of her being “friends with all the teenage boys”. That’s not a complaint about a lack of supervision; it’s just the opposite.
Also, we should cool it with the name-calling. It doesn’t help to point out the misogyny of the Left by using crude references to female genitalia.
Ed Morrissey on September 13, 2008 at 12:45 PM
Her timing is perfect. She spouts this garbage right after Barry talks about getting tough. I wonder if he’ll feel the need to disavow this as being part of his attack. :)

I mean this sincerely, honestly……I simply can not wrap my head around the kind of things this woman says. I know no one like this! Is she actually expressing her true honest to goodness thoughts or is it more of her ’schtick’….angy white female liberal….and it is where she has found her ‘audience’ (the half dozen or so there are) and so she is on a mission to outrageous even herself? Each time I read of yet another astonishing quote from her I just shake my head. How could anyone be this angry, this mean, and still find any worth in their lives? It’s just got to be an act.

I just finished contacting ABC and now this. I’m not sure I can take much more. Mocking Obama based on perception is one thing but this. This is beyond anything I have ever seen. It’s no wonder Liberal radio is an epic fail. Obviously, this person is a ratings whore playing to the lowest of the low.
The good news is I have a vote and a circle of influence for getting out the vote. I suggest we all try to focus on that.

Frankly, my nephews would be hanging out at the house all the time. Simply put, “wow! she shoots moose, fishes and drives snow mobiles”. That’s before you get to the cute daughters, the cool son or the dad that runs the big snow mobile race.
Seriously, they are the epitome of the family that all the teenagers swear “wow. your parents are the coolest!”
Obviously because they don’t live with them, but isn’t that always the case?
Anyhow, Randi Rhodes is really just a shock jock. She pretty much has nothing else she can say on Palin. I just keep thinking about Margaret Thatcher. If they can only attack you personally, they can’t lay a glove on your policies.
Kat_Mo on September 13, 2008 at 12:54 PM
This is so typical. We might well get used to it and/or ignoring the craziness. A McCain/Palin win will be more years of BDS only perhaps worse.
Another blog posted a link to HuffPo with an article by some guy wanting to sleep with Palin on his Obama sheets with his wife watching. I’m not posting a link.
It’s terribly sick. Unfortunately, we can’t deport these folks although we can always hope they will self-deport as promised… probably won’t happen. Their one, true joy in life is their misery.
Cody1991 on September 13, 2008 at 12:55 PM
My inner Brit Hume has now emerged.
Ed’s analysis is spot on, of course. The severity and intensity of this personal attack will ultimately boomerang to the detriment of the Obama campaign in light of its recent announcement that “the gloves are off.”
What Ms. Rhodes has tragically failed to consider is that her remarks will travel far beyond the listeners of her radio show and it is in those areas that her words will cause the most damage, as they will offend the sensibilities of average Americans.
Needless to say, members of the alternate media - including websites such as HotAir - will amplify Ms. Rhodes remarks throughout the United States in the weeks to come. I suspect the Obama campaign will be forced to go into defensive mode once again, thereby depriving them of a valuable opportunity to attack.
ManlyRash on September 13, 2008 at 12:55 PM
Keep it up lefties….
Without a doubt, you are helping us win this election.
Please, keep it up….
Kini on September 13, 2008 at 12:55 PM
Politically, this benefits the GOP as every other smear not only maintains and strengthens party unity (especially among conservatives), but pulls in independents and moderates.
The only benefit I see to even bringing Air America up at all is because of demonstrating how wide spread the implosion is in the Democrat Party. Rhodes obviously not only felt that way about Palin (no doubt she has far worse comments), but her purpose is to get ratings, and so in her bringing this all up at all demonstrates the audience wants to hear it.
Since the audience wants to hear that sort of stuff, (this isn’t the first instance of foot-in-mouth by Rhodes, nor Air America), I submit that as a major evidence in the Left’s continuing meltdown and implosion.
Keep it up, Dems! It’s been 4th of July ever since the day after your convention.

I’m realize I’m echoing a comment up thread a bit; but it seems that she is threatened by Sarah Palin’s intelligence and youthful good looks and that’s why is making fun of those things in such a vile way.
Those are also things she will never understand: having diverse knowledge and not looking like a hag well before her time.
She is behaving like one of those Mean Girls from high school.

It appears to me that Randi Rhodes has a screw loose. She’s appears to be an angry dissatisfied women who never has a good thing to say about those with different views or her country. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has yet to find one thing that finally makes her proud of her country. Birds of a feather.
