<blockquote>Can someone point me to the speech or official statement from Bush that Saddam had a hand in 9/11 ?
This canard is touted so often but I have yet to see this ‘lie’ in an official statement.

My comment at WaPo:

<blockquote>
Nice job in using the ignorance of your own “constituency” (Democrats), Ms. Kornblut. As an earlier commenter pointed out, our troops aren’t fighting the Iraqi Army; but fighting al Qaeda–the same al Qaeda whose members carried out the attacks on 9/11. Governor Palin knows that, as do most persons who care about the victory of our military. Why didn’t you know about this? You’re supposed to be one of “our betters,” no?

I was moved by Sarahs speech

I loved how she called our soldiers " Warriors " which Im sure they did too.

There was no ambiguity in her account of their mission, who they are going to fight, who they are going to help and most of all the unconditional support she will bestow.

She spoke of " Victory " and of accomplishing great benevolent acts.

How could you not love her.

When you put the tag line <em>"Cluelessness, or worse"</em> under the picture of our beloved Sarah, we all know you are talking about the Washington Post being Clueless.

But you know if someone highly infected with Palinmania was to see that and take it the wrong way, you might get attacked with a flamethrower. Just sayin...

Unless every one of us starts to accept that our enemy is every single radical Muslim who believes that America has some crusade against Muslims everywhere, and who accepts radical Islamist dogma as the truth in this world (that Israel directs everything to keep Muslims down, and America is the Great Satan who does Israel's Zionist bidding to kill Muslims anywhere and everywhere), and non Muslims are disposable infidels who may be killed without guilt when it is convenient to do so, and supposedly in Islam's interests, then no one will ever understand how a link exists between 9-11 and Saddam. Everyone involved with the 9-11 plot believed America was evil and needed to be fought under the least civilized rules in the world today. Saddam cheered that attack, and had supported, with training and money, ANY movement which felt as al Qaida did. He was working on WMD and would give that WMD to terrorists to use as they wished.

Anyone associated with these radical Islamist thoughts needs to be opposed, chased to the ends of the Earth until they change their minds, or be killed. Attacking innocent Women and Children and Elderly people because they got in the way of attacking Americans, or weren't "Islamic" enough to satisfy some terrorist thug, is an ideology practiced only by the most Evil people in this world. They need to be opposed, fought, and killed if THEY don't submit to civilized conduct.

All this BS about claiming al Qaida and Saddam's Iraq, or the Islamic State of Iraq (al Qaida's shadow government there) had no links is pure BS. They were all Muslims who hated America and decided that mass catastrophic killings of innocent Americans was justified by some theological doctrine, however ill supported the majority of the Muslim faith believes that. Their bad apples either get corrected by Muslims themselves, or we'll do it for them. Since they didn't do it themselves, (because a small majority believes al Qaida is correct, and the rest of the Muslims in the world are too intimidated and indoctrinated by their faith to oppose a Muslim in favor of non Muslims), we have had to do so instead.

Like I said elsewhere. Leadership isn't about going where everyone wants to go. It is about going where you have to go, even though you hate it, and doing what needs to be done to change this hatred of America and Jews by 1.4 billion Muslims in the world today.

If you folks can't agree that is an enemy worth opposing, then define them yourselves and lets get on with fixing them.

Bill Kristol thinks the remarks are stupid or malicious. How about both?

The obvious message is that these young service people are going to fight AlQaida in Iraq.

I think the most obvious error the Democrats make is to constantly assume that everyone else is stupid.

I can remember Bill Richardson and Bill Clinton and Al Gore blowing off about how dangerous Saddam was and how he had to be stopped blah blah blah, years before Bush ever came to office. Now with the help of their partisan fan club they are busy revising history and making the entire Iraq war something Bush did all by himself.

No, it was not. The intel passed to him by the Clinton people and the votes of Democrats have a lot to do with this war. Not to mention the fact that if we had just turned Saddam loose he would have gone right back to doing what he does best. Killing people and starting wars and causing trouble and breaking ceasing fires.

No, instead they create their own little narrative along with their willing accomplices in the media and just lie. They plain, flat out. <strong>LIE.</strong>

It is amazing to me that people respond to trolls who try to take over the thread with controversial statements.
These are obviously people in need of attention.
Nobody really believes some of the stuff they post, they do it just to get attention.
Just ignore them, they will post weird things, strange conclusions, just to get a response. Don't respond, let them post and don't respond, eventually they ignore you and go away.
Like the child who kicks his feet against the wall, just give them a time out and they settle down.

She is NOT talking about Saddam, but why does the Liberal Media Always want to defend Saddam?

It was the Policy of the Unite States for Regime Change in Iraq.

The "Iraq Liberation Act" was the policy of the United States, that was signed by Bill Clinton, and was approved by unanimous consent in the Senate(Where was Joe Biden?) Saddam Hussein was paying the families of suicide bombers that kill people inside of Israel, and also funding other terrorist groups, Iran is a State Sponsor Of Terrorism, Saddam Hussein used WMD's on his own people, we could not risk the chance of WMD's in the hands of terrorists.

Why do these Liberals Still not get?

<blockquote>We [Bush and Cheney]choose Iraq where we’re in a quagmire and they aren’t.

They choose long ago, Afghanistan and the tribal regions of eastern Pakistan, where their political influence is spreading and their military operations are expanding on a daily basis.

</blockquote>

again is it ignorance, or just lies?

<blockquote>Consider what bin Laden said about the importance of the war in Iraq in December 2004:

I now address my speech to the whole of the Islamic nation: Listen and understand. The issue is big and the misfortune is momentous. The most important and serious issue today for the whole world is this Third World War, which the Crusader-Zionist coalition began against the Islamic nation. It is raging in the land of the two rivers. The world's millstone and pillar is in Baghdad, the capital of the caliphate.

The whole world is watching this war and the two adversaries; the Islamic nation, on the one hand, and the United States and its allies on the other. It is either victory and glory or misery and humiliation. The nation today has a very rare opportunity to come out of the subservience and enslavement to the West and to smash the chains with which the Crusaders have fettered it.
Likewise, here is how Ayman al Zawahiri described the war in Iraq in a letter to Abu Musab al Zarqawi, then al Qaeda's chief terrorist in Iraq, in 2005:

I want to be the first to congratulate you for what God has blessed you with in terms of fighting battle in the heart of the Islamic world, which was formerly the field for major battles in Islam's history, and what is now the place for the greatest battle of Islam in this era.
