Elect solid conservatives (or at least people who care what their constituents think) to the Senate and the House, and this will be a non-issue.

Besides it would let illegal immigrants who committed misdemeanors (including those who with multiple misdemeanors)
be eligible for citizenship. Can you find any other country on earth that let people come into its country without permission, commit crimes on the citizens of that country AND then gave citizenship to those individuals????

Any immigrant who has been convicted of any criminal offense (Felony or misdemeanor) should be deported.

First he praises Obama’s “service” and now this crap. I think I speak for all conservatives when I say I will be voting for Palin and will take what comes with it.

The cut-off point is Legal immigrant.

Ignoring the fact that your idea is insane…why is a felony the cutoff point? Why not a misdemeanor? You do know that a lot of criminals (both citizens and illegal immigrants) get charged with felonies, but take plea deals to reduce them to misdemeanors?

2. Face it. While campaigning, McCain is not budging on amnesty. Fighting him right now just brings down the base entusiasm (read: shrinks voting). Fight and complaign once he’s elected.

3. Don’t be a Single-Issue Eagle.

Illegal immigration is not a single issue. It over burdens our schools, hospitals, social services, and effects the economy. We can’t really understand where we are on many issues until illegal aliens are removed from the picture. When California isn’t spending millions giving multiple liver transplants to an illegal alien, then medical costs might drop for the rest of us.

Let’s hope enough people see your point, which was well made. McCain never was Reagan and never will be, but the difference between him and B. Hussein Obama is gigantic on some issues and considerabe on most.

Now as far as illegals go; they should be shipped out whenever they’re found.

The only “immigration reform” I really wanna consider now is:
1) Seal the Borders
2) Establish strict new, LOW levels for a few years ’til the population level stablilizes-and no exceptions for relatives, no exceptions…perios!
3) Overhaul the guest worker program, at both the high and low end, to make sure that no Americans are unemployed while were importing folks from India or Asia to do high-tech jobs…
4) Did I mention seal the borders?

Mav better be careful, no ‘Cuda good will can get him past this issue…

Well, if bureaucrats were shopping, the price would be astronomical. But aluminum containers go for about $1,000 wholesale, and I could furnish one nicely with RV-style digs for another thou.

So that’s $2,000 per family of four, or a one-time cost of 6 billion dollars to house 12 million illegal invaders. According to the Heritage Foundation, the invaders cost us $2.2 trillion in taxes.

Even with labor, it seems far cheaper to me.

What do you want? A lot of conservatives don’t like McCain. Do you want us to fake enthusiasm, and just go along to get along? I agree that voting against Obama is a powerful argument, and many conservatives are swayed by it, but I personally would like to see the day come when I could vote for a conservative, instead of against a socialist.

Why doesn’t anyone like math anymore? Stupid public schools…

Secure the border and enforce immigration law, then and only then should other immigration reforms be considered. Otherwise we’ll be having this same debate in another 20 years in Spanish.
