Allahpundit, you miss the point. It’s a common slam in the DNC to call Palin a pig in lipstick. This is why Obama supporters stood up and cheered when he made the comment. They knew what it meant and if he didn’t, he needs to get in touch with his party.

It shows poor judgment if nothing else.

It isn’t the fact that Obama said it. It isn’t even a question of whether he was referring to Palin. The real story is that as soon as Obama heard that some people were offended he should have made an apology, something like…”I hope no one was offended. I was just using a phrase McCain used…etc.” Instead he takes his time and then attacks. Not smart and smacks of the arrogance we have come to expect from this campaign. He needs to get rid of Burton.
