Scenes from the House floor: Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor, says Dem

It’s Steve Cohen, longtime practitionerand victim — of the sort of guileless liberal nuance conservatives have come to know and love. Anyone recognize the pedigree of this bon mot? That’s right, it comes from Kos, who fortuitously plucked it from the obscurity of a teeming inbox and devoted a whole post to it the day after Palin’s speech, with credit to an unnamed reader for the brilliance of his insight. Six days later, after a detour through the Internet (a lefty friend e-mailed yesterday to say her circle of liberal colleagues was quite taken with it), it’s being parroted by Democratic backbenchers for safekeeping in the Congressional Record. Is Cohen just another dKos fanboy like the “journalists” who harvested the Trig smear from the site, do you suppose? Or is this a case of David Axelrod doing what David Axelrod does best?

Ah well. Having Barry O’s surrogates compare red-state America’s new favorite politician to Pontius Pilate is bound to work wonders in winning over those evangelical voters the left now pretend-respects and fake-esteems. Too bad McCain blew all of his outrage money on Lipstickgate. Exit question: In fairness to Kos’s analogy, she has put Obama through a terrible ordeal over the past 10 days, hasn’t she?

I thought the libs wanted the separation of church and state. The left does everything it can to support taking in God We Trust off of legal tender, prayer out of schools, before school sporting events, the 10 commandments out of court room and offices etc.. Now they are talking about Jesus and Pilate on the house floor!! They are losing it. Loving the smell of fear!

IF Jesus was a community organizer, he failed miserably. If he came to establish his Spiritual kingdom, he succeeded beyond mankind’s wildest imaginations.
Jesus = community organizer ——>FAIL

OK, when a guy named Cohen starts working Jesus into his (pseudo-)arguments, you can bet there’s some pandering going on.

But, if Cohen wants to go down that road, here’s another one:

Jesus supported family values and believed that marriage was a sacred relationship between one man and one woman!

Pontius Pilate was the representative of a society that openly endorsed orgies, pedophilia, idolatry, slavery, and then frittered away its wealth purchasing expensive entertainment for the masses in order to buy their loyalty while compromising their security and undermining their freedom.

I admit that I have found no documentary evidence that Pilate was a registered Democrat, but, hey– do the math, guys.

Yes, and and like a certain candidate for president, he voted “present” instead of making the difficult decisions…

And another great theologian is heard from on the floor of the House.

Pilate wasn’t elected either, he was appointed by Caesar and had no where near an 80% approval rating.

So Nikki Tinker(D) didn’t teach this self-loathing suck-up that you can’t bow low enough?

Given Nikki Tinker(D)‘s anti-Semitic arguments, that “Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus” you would think he might spare us the theological lecture.

From Steve at Hog On Ice:

Hitler was a community organizer, Jesus was a Maverick!

I guess Jesus, being Savior of Mankind, The Son of God and the Lord of All, was a little like being a community organizer, except of course that Jesus has actual responsibilities.

I’m almost waiting for John McCain, as an age joke, to come out and say…

“I knew Jesus, and Obama… your no Messiah.”

Sometimes you just gotta vent, Rebecca. That’s OK. As a Catholic I may not understand Judaism like I should, but I do know that my savior was a faithful, practicing Jew until the moment of his death. What I don’t understand is how any Christian can fail to honor that, although many don’t. They are still stuck on this crap about the Jews killed Jesus – like the Romans (and their penchant for crucifixion) were just innocent bystanders. Happily, that POS meme is dying out – just not fast enough. But I digress…
So why is it that the majority of Jewish voters vote Democrat? It is clearly against the interests of the Jewish state, as you pointed out. I’ve been told, but don’t really understand, that it has to do with guilt. And while I accept that Jews can out-guilt us Catholics, I just don’t see the connection to Democrats (who should feel guilt, but are mostly shameless).
