Hatred in Canada alive and well

Remember when Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant had to spend a lot of money answering to Canada’s absurd Human Rights Commission over charges of “hatred” for their work in pointing out the demographics of Islam in the West?  I wonder what their HRC will make of Heather Mallick.  After all, if Canada wants to stamp out “hatred”, then her column last week on Sarah Palin seems like a fine place to start:

I assume John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential partner in a fit of pique because the Republican money men refused to let him have the stuffed male shirt he really wanted. She added nothing to the ticket that the Republicans didn’t already have sewn up, the white trash vote, the demographic that sullies America’s name inside and outside its borders yet has such a curious appeal for the right.

So why do it?

It’s possible that Republican men, sexual inadequates that they are, really believe that women will vote for a woman just because she’s a woman. They’re unfamiliar with our true natures. Do they think vaginas call out to each other in the jungle night? I mean, I know men have their secret meetings at which they pledge to do manly things, like being irresponsible with their semen and postponing household repairs with glue and used matches. Guys will be guys, obviously.

Surely, this must be satire, you ask yourself about now, just as I did.  A bit of journalistic irony in eventually complimenting Republicans for reaching past stereotypes and selecting the first Republican woman for a national ticket.  Surely Mallick can’t be serious, you state.

But she is … and don’t call me Shirley.

Palin was not a sure choice, not even for the stolidly Republican ladies branch of Citizens for a Tackier America. No, she isn’t even female really. She’s a type, and she comes in male form too. …

Palin has a toned-down version of the porn actress look favoured by this decade’s woman, the overtreated hair, puffy lips and permanently alarmed expression. Bristol has what is known in Britain as the look of the teen mum, the “pramface.”

It takes Mallick several paragraphs before she can tear herself away from attacking Palin’s family, but not before she calls on them to shoot their new son-in-law-to-be for impregnating their daughter.  Now, perhaps I’m just not recalling it properly, but I don’t believe that Steyn or Levant ever even suggested violence in their reports on Islam’s growth in the West.  Nor did either write anything so deranged as Mallick did for the CBC, Canada’s major broadcaster.

Canada’s HRC and its affiliates in the provinces are offenses against free speech.  I don’t think they should exist at all, as their very existence puts a strong chill on political speech.  However, no one in Canada seemed outraged enough to stop them from shuttering Levant’s magazine and attempting to bankrupt both Levant and Steyn for some imagined hatred.  Mallick has made it explicit.  Will the Human Rights Commission now bankrupt the CBC in a similar manner, or will they expose themselves as nothing more than a partisan attack dog for the Left?  (via The Anchoress)

defending other nations all across the globe as we defended Ours. And we’ve had regular folks on foreign streets say “thank you” in dozens and dozens of other languages along the way.

Go easy guys. Dave is suffering from the same psychological problem that all hard-core Leftists suffer from: namely, that of projection.

Like any good Leftist, Dave hates George Bush first-n-foremost because he’s a Republican. If 9/11 had never happened…if the Iraq War had never happened…after 8 years, he would still hate George Bush – for one reason or another – with the exact same intensity. Period.

The problem for Dave now is that when he sees polls showing that only 30% of the public approves of George Bush’s performance, he projects his own feelings of hatred onto the 70% of Americans who disapprove of George Bush’s performance also. He convinces himself that their “disapproval” really equates to “hatred” and therein lies his error.

In the minds of the average American voter, what are the two biggest negatives for Bush? Iraq and Hurricane Katrina. With that in mind, the Left’s desperate hope that voters are going to “punish” John McCain because of George Bush are silly. Why? Because on Iraq, no matter how desperately Leftists like to ignore this fact, voters know that Democrats were right there voting “yes” and supporting the war – as long as the poll numbers justified it. They also know that, from the beginning, John McCain has been consistently and forcefully butting heads with Bush about troop levels and tactics, and that when McCain’s advice was finally heeded, the US military began turning the tide in Iraq.

And regarding Katrina, voters who are so inclined will hold that against Bush personally. They’re hardly going to blame John McCain for it.

So, let’s leave Leftists like Dave to continue fighting George Bush windmills and stewing in their hatred. It makes them feel important and superior. And good for them.

Meanwhile, we can continue to consistently and accurately point out the fact that the Democrat candidate’s biggest accomplishments consist of writing two books about how great he is – with one written before he ever held public office; and that he has no executive experience…no military experience…and no foreign policy experience. None.

Oh, regarding Ms. Mallick: I say that people like her are McCain-Palin’s biggest strength. I hope to hear alot more from her and other Leftists, and I can only hope that millions and millions of Americans hear alot more of it as well.

I’ll defend it. NO major attacks on the U.S. since 9/11/01, and many plans and groups thwarted in the meantime who were in the process of carrying out such plans That’s staying on offense.

The domestic issues are different, another topic entirely, and there are many of those issues I disagree with him on (Immigration, for one), but he’s done a fine job staying on offense in protecting out nation.

Several branches of my family tree are Canadian. A cousin who is a member of a union up there, wrote to report that union officials were urging members to do whatever they can to influence the American elections, even going so far as to come across the border into key states and work on behalf of Obama.

That’s partially true; but there were many like that ahead of time. Trudeau (curse his very name and peace be on the innocent victims of his regime) encouraged such people. Of course, it was all a lie so long as Canada was tied to the US. They wanted it both ways. Mercifully, the US let them play their little games.

Americans don’t see the connection that you do because the fact that McCain voted with Bush 90% is irrelevant to them, especially since Obama and Bide voted with Harry Reid, Democrat majority leader of the worst congress in U.S. history, 97% of the time.

She did a lot for the Rep. ticket. I am so happy that I bailed from the Democratic Party five months ago. I voted for Bush. I quit voting Democrat when Billy Bob first ran. But, I stayed registered as a Dem. None of my friends believed I was a Dem. I am very conservative minded. A lot of my Dem. friends are going to vote for Palin. Figures that some Canadians want Obama to win. That is their low set minds. Citizens who were born in Canada, my friends. Would give anything to live in our Country. They care as if they are Americans – and who can blame them? Who wouldn’t want to be American? Canadian Human Rights folks will do nothing, because in order to complain, you have to be “injured”, and Canadian.

As this hit pieces is against Palin, an American, and Republicans, also American, there is no Canadian who will be injured, thus, not valid complaint.

Steyn was brought before the HRC by a Canadian Moslem, who felt injured even by things which were published OUTSIDE of Canada…

Apparently it can’t be HATE Speech, if its pointed at Foreigners.

American politics isn’t short of smart women. Susan Eisenhower, Ike’s granddaughter, who just endorsed Obama, made an extraordinary speech at the Democratic convention (and a terrific casual appearance on The Colbert Report as Palin was speaking).

The Cobert Report cinched it for me. The Eisenhower bio must have dazzled Mallick. Chairman Emeritus of the Eisenhower Insitute, President of the Eisenhower Group consulting company. First a writer, then student overseas, then stringer for Saturday Evening Post. Speaker before diverse groups, member of numerous boards and commissions, and talking head on television etc.

When Canada was not mentioned, you should have seen the Canadian media’s reaction. It would have been understandable if Chretien was sitting there and had been ignored. Instead, it showed how self-righteous and pathetic Canadians are. In fact, Chretien lied about not being able to visit NYC in late Sept 2001 – front page news on the Toronto Sun. Canada’s response to 9/11 was truly pathetic, but the bravery of its troops in Afghanistan – especially their snipers – saved them.

I read her whole piece. Rather cowardly, I thought. If she had any guts she would have explicitly advocated what was really on her mind: Republicans in general and Sarah Palin in particular should be killed. She obviously feels they filthy up the gene pool, being vile white trash and all. Her obvious ideological soulmates, Che and Fidel certainly wouldn’t have shied away from the obvious.

Morissey is incorrect to state that no one up here was outraged enough to stop the HRC; the truth is that those of us who are outraged are not currently able to stop the HRC. That will change, and then they will be stopped. By the same token, is no one in the US outraged enough to stop one million abortions a year? Use a little more precision in your writing Morissey, and don’t tar my entire nation with your particular brand of nationalism.

As for the CBC, the leftist bias many of us perceive is becoming increasingly obvious. I do not believe they will survive as a network once public funding is withdrawn, and I expect that to happen once the aforementioned outraged amongst us gain the political clout to make it happen.

It’s the same political war between left and right going on in your country. We are currently advancing. I hope your front is also moving forward although I have my doubts.

Obama voted even more with the Democratic leadership, reports I’ve seen have it at 97% – the same Democratic do-nothing leadership that has amassed a record low approval rating with the American people….

I don’t know that this is a “Canadian thing” so much…tune into Olberman, Matthews, et. al., and you’ll see that Ms. Whassername is just a northern-latitudes version of a critter we have all over our own airwaves and in editorial rooms coast to coast.

You don’t think that there’re a huge number of folks in San Francisco (to name on egregious example) who would love to set up a speech-muffling HRC clone? You don’t think that the words “white trash vote” don’t dribble from both sides of the mouths of folks in the editorial offices and faculty lounges of papers, newsrooms and colleges right down the street from you? The “exposes” about Ms. Palin all come from the heart of “class warfare” central.

They don’t really hate Mr. Bush (and by extension the lovely Governor) at all…they hate US, who elect them.

Anyway…I’m ready to forgive any nation which could give us “Red Green” and “Corner Gas”…en masse, anyway…individually, I’m less inclined to forgive the morons among them….

Dave Rywall, Mr. Bush was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks, but he is responsible for assuring that no more have happened. He’s tried to bottle up the terrorists no matter where they live, and he’s done a great job of taking the fight to them. They are fighting us not here in the USA but elsewhere in the world, and they are fighting our soldiers, not our civilians. Since our soldiers are more capable of defending themselves against such attacks than our civilians, the lives of those civilians are less apt to end abruptly.

Bush is not running for President, nor for Vice President. We have Obama and Biden on the one side, and McCain and Palin on the other, and nary a Bush in sight. If you want to talk about Bush, go over to either the DNC site or the BarackObama site and do so. I’m sure they’d welcome your refreshing viewpoint from the Great White North. In fact, why don’t you contribute to the Democrats (who mostly echo your feelings) if you feel so inclined — I’m sure they’d welcome your money! If they don’t, just tell them you are from Canada and have some spare untraceable Adscam cash handy, and I’m sure they’ll reverse course quickly.

As a former liberal, (I voted for my first Republican in 2004!! and now have the zeal of the converted,) I can honestly say that she could only think that because no Republican guy could get aroused by her. I know this is TMI, but I have had both types, and Conservative men have it hands down in that department. When I was a crazy liberal girl – a wild child – I was always attracted to conservative men. They played sports, they were beautiful, they were brains, they were cool, calm, collected, never lost their heads. They played baseball and hockey. And I clearly recall the many times that I was uncomfortable with a liberal guy; overly emotional – clingy – I hate to stereotype, but that was my experience. I remember seeing the movie “Welcome to the Dollhouse” on a first date with a liberal guy who had long hair, (I HATE long hair on a guy) and he clung to my arm and cringed whenever the girl in the movie was unmercifully teased. It was a comedy, and this guy, while a very nice person, and considered good looking by most, was totally wimpy and turning me off. Needless to say there was no second date. My husband has been a lifelong Republican, and he is the best man I have ever known in all ways possible. So don’t take some dysfunctional nasty-looking, ill-tempered harpie seriously when she disparrages conservative men: she’s full of crap.

Thanks for posting that video. There is no longer any logical reason for the continued existence of the CBC. Key point: on Sept 19, 2001, they held a ‘townhall’ meeting to discuss 9/11. Almost everyone who attended supported the attacks. End the CBC now. Its journalists now only serve themselves.
