O.k.... this has to be said:

(My apologies to Palin and most of the Hot Air readership.)

*When I was a young man I used to like girls
I'd tickle their bodies and play with their curls
Till my girlfriend ran off with a salesman named Bruce
Now you'd never be treated that way by a Moose

/ G D G - / G Em D - / Em Bm Am D / G - D G /

{Refrain}
For it's moose! moose! I want a moose!
I have never had anything quite like a moose
Tho' I've had many women, my life has been loose
I have never had anything quite like a moose

When I'm in the mood for a very good lay
I go to the closet and get me some hay
And I go to the window and spread it around
For the mooses will come when there's hay on the ground

{Refrain}

Oh I've done it with all sorts of beasties with hair
And I'd do it with snakes, if their fangs weren't there
Oh I've done it with llamas and sheepdogs and goose
I have never had anything quite like a moose

{Refrain}

Well, gorillas are fun on a Saturday night
And lions and tigers can put up a fight
But it's just not the same when I ram their caboose
As the feeling I get when I jump on a moose

{Refrain}

So now I am old and advanced in my years
When I look on my life I will shed me no tears
As I sit in my chair with a glass of Mateaus
Playing hide the salami with Marvin the Moose

{Refrain}

At this point in time the media would have to show me video of her standing over a dead body with blood on her hands, a rifle in her grip and a leering smile on her face to get me to switch my vote.

And that is the difference between us and them. CNN could televise, live, Barack Obama eating a baby, and the libs would still vote for him come November.

I find this fortnight of reaction utterly fascinating. When challenged by a strong, self-made woman, what has the mainstream media done? They have painted her as:
A hick
A slut
A bubble-headed beauty queen
A bad mother

A lot of Palin comments from the left remind me of "The Grinch That Stole Christmas," when after taking all the trappings of Christmas back up to Mt Crumpet and listening for the Whos of Whoville to cry, instead of crying he heard singing.

Likewise, the left can't understand why we don't reject a woman, an independent and strong woman, who doesn't stay home with the kids and who's daughter has an out-of-wedlock pregnancy. It sticks in their craw. It's not so much that they don't like who she is as it is our having not predictably rejected her for being so that drives them batty. After all, they have an unshakeable belief in folks on the right as Neanderthals or submissive women of same.

The fear of us running things is what keeps the neighborhood activists active and the democrats in office. Government for them is first and foremost a wall between them and what they perceive the right's agendas to be. We are the enemy to them, not the folks actually shooting in their direction, and they will tolerate dysfunctional government with overreaching powers so long as we are kept at bay.

There is genuine puzzlement on the left, and I think a new fear is bubbling to the surface; the fear that our overwhelming (and un-orchistrated) acceptance of Sarah Palin undoes the decades of their lecturing voters that we are bigoted and intolerant, that we may not be so different from themselves that voters will vote their guys in for fear of "right wingers."

What’s your point, Bush had no serious experience unless you count his short term as governor of Texas. I don’t understand how Palin is any different except that she didn’t have a drinking problem for most of her adult life, which is clearly a plus. People say that intelligence isn’t relevant either, but look at the men printed on US currency.

bayam on September 9, 2008 at 9:33 PM

Bush was part of his father's admin. He was a member and insider in washibngton before he even ran for gov. He was on his second term as gov when elected President. Bush's mother was a great grandaught of a former President. the Bush family has been in political circles for generations. Same with the Gore's same with the Kennedy's etc. then you look at Presidents with little experience like Ike, Truman, Lincoln, Teddy Rossevelt, wilson (only had 2 years as gov of New Jersey before election), Reagan, etc if you do a study of Americian presidents experience is very overrated. It is character that matters more and sadly with Obama he has neither character nor experience.

What’s your point, Bush had no serious experience unless you count his short term as governor of Texas. I don’t understand how Palin is any different except that she didn’t have a drinking problem for most of her adult life, which is clearly a plus.
Bush was part of his father’s admin. He was a member and insider in washibngton before he even ran for gov. He was on his second term as gov when elected President. Bush’s mother was a great grandaught of a former President. the Bush family has been in political circles for generations. Same with the Gore’s same with the Kennedy’s etc. then you look at Presidents with little experience like Ike, Truman, Lincoln, Teddy Rossevelt, wilson (only had 2 years as gov of New Jersey before election), Reagan, etc if you do a study of Americian presidents experience is very overrated. It is character that matters more and sadly with Obama he has neither character nor experience.

Actually this is not all that surprising. Lefties these days are feminists, and modern feminism at its core is misogynist...i.e. it holds that femininity is nothing special, women are just men with alternate plumbing. Therefore women whom they dislike can be attacked in sexual terms and this does not bother them (as long as it works) since, after all, they don't see femininity as something to be respected per se.

Us diehard conservatives on the other hand, view femininity as something sacred. You defend it, you don't mock it, and you don't demean it. Which is also why we (and the feminists from 60 years ago) think porn is wrong.

I guess this leaves me thinking neither Morissey nor AP are actually diehard conservatives.

The extreme left blogs are in bad taste of course. BO has to balance his party's platform to be inclusive of all these types of extreme opinions. They think they are helping when they are really sinking his ship. On top of that, the BO and JB gaffe's don't help at all.

The implosion is fun to watch.

The libs sure can get nasty against Black conservatives and female conservatives. It also shows what huge hypocrites they are. Most of what libs accuse conservatives of is all in their own hearts.

Okay, Ed, here's the deal. Since there was no evidence of Palin speaking in tongues (Glossolalia), Salon decided to photoshop her speaking in thongs -- figuring we rubes wouldn't know the difference. Next, they'll accuse her of matriculating in college and thespian proclivities.

Meanwhile, reporters cover-up and ignore the dreaded Biden disease (Gassolalia).

As I keep saying... I hope the media keeps it up all the way through November. They'll eventually piss off enough women who will vote for McCain/Palin just because they're pissed at the treatment women in politics have been getting.
