Indeed, he (Obama) has voted 97% of the time in support of Reid.

When will McCain put that stat in an ad?

What goes through the mind of someone who writes a check for a party or candidate and then regrets it? Does that person become more determined and write a larger check next time, or go independent or even switch parties to make up for the error?

I disagree on "she doesn't deal with russia"....

Part of the reason there is a secessionist movement up north at all is the citizens feel they were denied the choices previous states had been offered. They were denied those choices because of Alaska's vital strategic location.

John McCain and Sarah palin did not make that decision.....

Ike and JFK did.

In the debates, when the subject of Pork comes up. McCain and Palin both need to point out that Obama got Biden’s son a $1 Million dollar Earmark and note McCain takes no pork, etc.
i.e. Real Reform, that Obama/Biden are frauds. how can they respond?
jp on September 8, 2008 at 11:11 AM

Amen. and there are plenty of other examples of self-dealing including Biden's son who lobbies Biden's Senate committee

Talk about low-hanging fruit--compare and contrast with McCain and Palin.

Hypothesis, the potential McCain victory was made possible by George W. Bush and thus Karl Rove.

Palin would never have been picked prior to O'bama choosing because someone would have blanched over risk. Palin was attractive on 3 levels.

1) unified the base

2) accentuated change by showing contratemp to "McSame" by way of highlighting her majesty not being chosen

3) energy policy street cred

Had McCain had to choose versus a President Kerry or Gore earning Barry a second choice John would have had to gamble on #2 applying. The operational manuever's chances of being attempted and success were based on the incumbency,

In this election at any rate the incumbent advantage was tactical placement of conventions as much as "Air Force One" in other years.

Obama Fail.

You heard it here first, folks.

If Obama manages to blow this election with the president's numbers where they are, a deflated & disgruntled Republican party and all the help he's getting from the press and his handlers; a new phrase is going to need to be added to the Internet lexicon, because Epic Fail just won't cut it. I suggest "Obama Fail." I'd suggest "Baracking up," but it's too hard to spell.

The 2000 National Convention of the U.S. Democratic Party nominated Vice President Al Gore for President and Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman as his Vice President. The convention was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California from August 14 to August 17, 2000.

The 1980 National Convention of the U.S. Democratic Party nominated President Jimmy Carter for President and Vice President Walter Mondale for Vice President. The convention was held in Madison Square Garden in New York City from August 11 to August 14, 1980.

The 1980 convention was notable, as it was the last time in the 20th century, for either major party, that a candidate tried to get delegates released from their voting commitments. This was done by Massachusetts Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Carter's chief rival for the nomination in the Democratic primaries, who sought the votes of delegates held by Carter.

The 2000 National Convention of the Republican Party of the United States convened at the Wachovia Center (then the First Union Center) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from July 31 to August 3, 2000. The 2066 delegates assembled at the convention nominated Texas Governor George W. Bush as the Republican candidate for U.S. President and former U.S. Secretary of Defense Richard B. "Dick" Cheney for Vice President.

The 1980 National Convention of the Republican Party of the United States convened at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, from July 14 to July 17, 1980. The 32nd Republican National Convention nominated former Governor Ronald W. Reagan of California for President of the United States and former congressman George H. W. Bush of Texas for Vice President. Reagan, running on the theme "Make America Great Again," stayed in Detroit Renaissance Center, at the time the world's tallest hotel, and delivered his acceptance speech at Joe Louis Arena.

alternating with the incumbency it is....we've just won often enough it seems like they ceded it.

because they asked once and the GOP agreed….

like I said one side plays checkers, the other chess…

Donks could figure out new ways to lose at tic-tac-toe.

Or

IIRC, the incumbant presidential party goes second.

BTW: Has anyone seen a trace of Michelle Obama recently? Will she be the case solved in the opening episode of Without a Trace this fall?

BuckeyeSam on September 8, 2008 at 12:09 PM

Ed had a PUMA on his show Saturaday (The Patriot) who said that behind the scenes Michelle O. rolled her eyes when Hillary was mentioned. INOW, she showed her contempt.

Hey, maybe MO is at home taking care of her kids where she 'sposed to be according to all the "pundits".

Actually, David Axelrod and the team have probably told her to butt out and shut up until late Nov.

How are the dates for both the RNC and DNC decided? Do they alternate who goes first each year?

IIRC, the incumbant presidential party goes second.

Other than her vapid speech at the DNCC, have we seen a trace of Michelle since she made that ridiculous “proud of America” gaffe? The Obama camp took a lesson from the Teresa Kerry debacle and put Michelle under lockdown until the election is over.

BTW: Has anyone seen a trace of Michelle Obama recently? Will she be the case solved in the opening episode of Without a Trace this fall?

They can’t “telephone poll” the kids who will vote for Obama. They have cell phones.

So do my retired parents. The lefties always claim that the polls are biased because of cell phones, but to date no one has been able to demonstrate that to have an impact on results.

You've got to hand it to whoever advised Senator McCain to pick Governor Palin. Pure political genius.

Their strategy has been to tie McCain to George Bush and leverage the latter’s 30% popularity to erode confidence in McCain. Clearly, they haven’t succeeded.

Personally, I always thought that with McCain as the nominee this argument was a nonstarter. With Palin and since the RNCC, everytime Democrats repeat the line "the same failed policies of the Bush Adminstration," Democrats sound increasingly desperate. Only about 35% of the voters are buying and drinking that Kool-Aid anymore.

Team McCain has decided to take a page from the Obama playbook and begin tying Obama to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid — and that may be more effective.

This is smart. Indeed, throughout the weekend in SW Ohio McCain ran an ad tying Pelosi and Reid to Obama in a very unflattering and effective way. Meanwhile, Obama has been running a very hokey ad to the tune of "Don't know much about biology." I think it's childish. I'm almost embarrassed for him.

Right now, I see Obama and McCain in a long-distance swimming race in which Obama, after being way ahead, now has Biden tied to his feet and Reid and Pelosi tied to his hips--and his wife, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, and too many other problems standing by the side of the pool ready to jump in and weigh him down even more.

In contrast, McCain is hitting his stride and, indeed, has even climbed aboard a jet ski christened Sarah'Cuda and is buzzing past Obama.

BTW: Has anyone seen a trace of Michelle Obama recently? Will she be the case solved in the opening episode of Without a Trace this fall?
