Obama ad: “No Maverick”

I guess Barack Obama doesn’t read Hot Air, nor listens to wisdom from our own Allahpundit. Team O got so flustered by today’s “Original Mavericks” ad that they rushed this new spot out today, apparently before doing some rudimentary fact-checking. Obama argues that the Bridge to Nowhere shows him to be the real Maverick:
It’s true that Palin didn’t start off opposing the bridge, but as Governor she made the decision to kill it. At least she moved in the right direction. Who voted for it in the first place? Not John McCain; he derided it on the Senate floor, despite it being a pet project from a Republican colleague. Two of the votes came from … Barack Obama and Joe Biden:
Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.
However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.
Let’s take a look at that amendment, too. Coburn, a real anti-pork reformer, tried to cancel earmarks and redirect funds to Hurricane Katrina relief. It gave the Senate a second chance to stop the Bridge to Nowhere and use the funds to help victims of the storm — which Obama likes to use as an example of his leadership. And yet, the supposed “maverick” of this ad and his running mate chose to support the ridiculous $200 million Bridge to Nowhere instead.
The most laughable hypocrisy about this and AP’s earlier post is Obama’s decision to use the Ketchikan bridge to attack Palin. He supported it; he failed to change his mind on it given a second chance; Obama owns that bridge right along with Ted Stevens. Yet he blames Palin for the earmark as if she isn’t as good as a reformer as he is, because she stopped it despite Obama’s best efforts to build the boondoggle.
You can’t make this up.
Hopefully, “Captain Earmark” ($740 million in pork and counting, and with its own shady connections) will continue doing two things all the way to Election Day: keep talking about earmarks and keep attacking Palin. The more he goes after the Republican running mate, the more he equates himself with her and makes McCain look presidential.

I have to say, that Barry O is quite generous. He just keeps giving ammo to his “enemy” with no thought of consequences to himself or his party. Quite a guy, quite a guy.

This is another failed strategy by Obama. Not only is he hypocritical on this count, more voters consider the media bias greater concern then money in politics (read lobbyists). Both sides are bad for Obama.

That sound you hear is Obama frantically grasping at straws.
Aparently, Hillary is refusing to attack Palin.
Biden is repeating the same mems. Obama is becoming more strident. Not exactly a winning proposition. Obama went from conversation to excoriation, in less than a week. Biden went into the nearest bar.

Liberals do not live in a world based on facts.
This ad is therefore not surprising.
Uh-bam-uh still thinks the country is nothing but adoring acolytes who will carry him, perched upon his couch and clothed in purple, all the way to his inevitable coronation.

What ever happened to the laws against slander… seriously.
Both sides fudge things here and there. I accept that, but I still think it’s stupid. In today’s age, we can fact check anything in seconds from 100 credible sources. All it does is open up attacks and degrade credibility. What’s the point? Especially this year. There is SOOOOO MUCH that McCain can destroy Obama on without fluffing anything.
But to bold face say that two politicians are lying about their records based on fuzzy and twisted statements… that is outright slander.
I hope the all the lazy undecideds are smart enough to see this crap for what it is.

I keep chuckling over the visual of the frenzied atmosphere in Barry’s campaign headquarters about now. Massive email messages, fax machine going wild, phones ringing nonstop, people dashing from one room to the next, everyone shouting at each other, polls tacked up on every available wall space, playing defense entirely…. trying to stop the bleed.

Someone recently said (it may have been here at HA) that Obama never really thought he had a chance of winning. He only was trying to get the name recognition for the next run. He’s found himself the actual nominee and is in way over his head. This ad just seems to validate that opinion.

Obama is now in a fixed response mode.
McCain/Palin are changing the situation more rapidly than than Obama/Biden can comprehend.
Obama must respond and keep responding, and this forces Obama off message, prevents him from gaining control of events, causes sloppiness, makes small errors deadly errors. Right now, it appears McCain/Palin are in command of both sides of the election operation.
Mccain/Palin can set the timing, to their liking, can stress or ease the tempo, to their liking, and can dictate the message as they see fit.
Obama/Biden are forced to respond, and respond, and respond. In essence they are ceding control of their campaign to the McCain campaign, and do not have the ability to figure out why this is happening.
Anything that is not under McCain/Palin control is just ground clutter and chaff. For Obama/Biden all they can do is throw up chaff and try to hide in the ground clutter.
Hence this Obama ad and a few others in the past few days. Quick shots fired in the direction of a target but not at the target, not on target. Usually seen in aerial engagement just before the wings come off the bad guy’s plane and the rest of the aircraft cork-screws into the ground.

It’s more of the same? Are they throwing Kerry under the bus? Is this just an example of BO being for someone that was for something before they were against it before he was against someone that was for something before they were against it? Did he just pull the, I was for it before I was against it card in order to slam someone that was for it before they were against it? Did I already say that? This ain’t carpet bombing.
This is decisive 3-D thinking in a moving environment against a moving target while controlling the air space, while thinking several moves out ahead of your opponent, developing solutions to varying scenarios, coming up with new solutions as the environment changes, yet never letting the target out of your HUD.
No, not carpet bombing. Art. Pure aerial ballet. Lethal man-ballet. Comes from experience. McCain has it. Barry has no concept of it.
