Oh that was really cleaver. Do you start all your conversations with that brilliant ice-breaker? It does not take a military genius to comprehend the obvious.

What unit did you serve with?

A unit under XXIV Corps, RVN. How about you? What does that have to do with it anyway?

The surge worked and we won the war.

Never minding that no one has ever adequately explained exactly what it is that we are suppose to have "won" (and please don't go on about a freedom loving, rule-of-law democracy that will be "an ally in the war on terror" as now Shiite controlled Iraq is far more a natural ally of fellow Shiite Iran than of infidel America), if the war has now been "won" in Iraq we would not have MORE troops there than we did before the "Surge" started with no plans to bring more than a smattering home during the next several months. Soon after VE and VJ days the big majority of U.S. troops came home. By your bass-ackwards "logic" if most of the troops were on their way home from Iraq now or getting ready to come home that would mean that "The Surge" failed and we have lost the war.

We still have troops in Japan and Germany 60 years after WWII. There were still American GI's being killed by the Nazis 5 & 6 years after that "surge" worked.

Trying to equate Iraq with Germany and Japan is absurd on it's face. Our Generals kiss Korans there and tip-toe around filthy Islam. In Germany did they kiss Mein Kampf and tip-toe around Nazism? Within a couple of years after Hitler's fall more American troops were marrying Germans than were being killed by them. BTW, Malik does not want us there any ridiculous 60 years. All indications are that he wants us out almost as soon as Obama does.

If you think you have you had better get your ears checked because he has said no such thing. Maybe you could send him a letter telling him sarcastically "You’re a regular military genius"
