Say, didn’t Obama’s campaign manager promise he’d repay the kindness after McCain ran that ad congratulating Obama on winning the nomination? What happened to that? Does going on O’Reilly the night of Maverick’s speech to try to steal some of his buzz now qualify as “congratulations”?

Silly conservative! Of course that qualifies! He said McCain’s surge was an astounding success!

It makes sense if you think you are talking to a different audience every day. But especially when they had so many viewers Wed. and Thurs. They need to freshen things up a bit. I haven’t noticed it so much in other campaigns. The same jokes, the same voice tones at the same places…

Looks like petunia, me and calbear are in the minority being bothered by this. I used to work in advertising, so I’m familiar with being sick to death of a pitch long before it reached the saturation level with the public that we needed. And I realize 24/7 cable news and Internet makes it difficult to stay fresh. Still, I wish she’d at least change up the inflection, or something.

That said, 0bama’s was still using the “they’re going to say I’ve got a funny name” speech as recently as yesterday, so our side’s not the only side doing it.

It was even better when she delivered it in her speech at the RNC.

Yeah: If it helps Allah with his pessimism, it’s not a good sign when someone reuses so many lines in so little time. Hopefully, this will be corrected, but many people might start to think there’s no there there — that she can only parrot a few scripted lines — is she keeps reusing the exact same phrases day after day. When I first heard the “lipstick” line, I smiled. When I heard her recycle it, I cringed. I realize that politics involves reusing lines, ideas, and phrases, but you don’t want to wind up like John Edwards and say, “This is the first time I’ve told anyone” something he’s said before. Tread carefully, Governor Palin!

Know what’s awesome? Seeing 20 Pics of Sara’Cuda instead of BO up and down both sides of HA. Makes me so happy.

Sorry, petunia, but you’re not going to get hired as a campaign consultant. Repeating the same message with the same lines is intentional, not to mention unavoidable. Very few people, relative to the size of the electorate follow the campaigns closely. What you’re asking would be like asking the actors at a Broadway show to come up with new lines every night, or a band to re-arrange its songs and re-write the lyrics for every performance. Obviously, freshening things up when possible is all to the good, but the general objective is to penetrate as many minds as possible with some memorable messages, just a handful, along with an overall impression.

I hope someone with pull is noticing and fixing the problem. They can say basically the same thing but have different words or something.

Can I have an opinion here? :) I think Cap and Trade is the biggest scam the world has known and to hear McCain put forward that it’s something he’s in favor of just irks me to no end.
