Northern Wisconsin would be sympathetic to her husband’s brief interest in a secessionist party, though in the case of Northern Wisconsin in the 1970s, there was talk of Northern Wisconsin and UP Michigan separating from SE Wisconsin and the vile lower peninsula of Michigan to form a separate state more attuned to their views. This idea had trouble being taken seriously after the new state was referred to as “Wishigan”.

How about John McCain brining Sarah Palin to the Senate as a “guest” while he introduces legislation to allow us to drill and harvest our own energy in a bold new step to become energy independent? Then force the Democrats to either vote for or against it in the light of day before the American people. Then use that to bash them over the head at every turn?

Beautiful. While Sarah’s there, can they help her pick out a comfortable chair? Might as well get cracking on her future job now! ;)

She gave almost the same speech at Michigan and she did it much better.

Gut reaction: 1) The video in AP’s post was the first public read-through of the speech in inclement conditions (windy), possibly with little-to-no prep time, while the one you linked was after she’d gotten a chance to internalize it, or 2) her speech writer doesn’t have her voice yet. I’m leaning to a combination of the two. The second video makes it obvious that she can internalize a speech just fine, though, so my worries are unfounded. Even a sub-par speech, which this one is. It’s pretty much a cut-n-paste of portions of his acceptance speech and hers, without much connective tissue.

I only hope she’s able to play the Jefferson to McCain’s Adams and not lose her core principles in the process of supporting her running-mate.

Which brings us back to the reason her chose her…was it for energy?…I can’t see her going for cap and trade… immigration…. For me that’s the wild card…what have you heard?

Agreed…and let her have more say in the content…
She didn’t get to be Gov. with highpowered speech writers.
If she did have one…put him on the staff.
