By popular request. The questions emerging at this hour: Given that she’s appearing at a political event, isn’t it only fair to let the media tear Piper Palin to pieces? And more importantly, could Piper be the secret mother of baby Trig? Stay tuned to the Daily Dish for more on these developing issues.

And those stats were before the speech.

No kidding? Before Palin’s speech? Whoa…I would give my left arm to hear the tirade from Baracky HQ right about now.

Well, ain’t this a geographical oddity? Two weeks from everywhere!
MadisonConservative on September 4, 2008 at 11:16 AM
She was coached. They had to go over it several times until Piper had the timing down.

Two-week wait on Dapper Dan. Sorry.

Consarnit it, I got beat to it.

I thought the family came off very well. You can’t “coach” love, especially in a young kid.
VikingGoneWild on September 4, 2008 at 11:19 AM
Karl Rove must have scripted that moment!
Hot damn.

why is that girls mother not with her to give her a brush and some hair gel.

Well, it didn’t look like a two-horse town, but try finding a decent hair jelly.

That was great, bought a tear to this old mans eye, that little girl has a future. The Palin family, are my kind of people. It was good night by all. Go Piper 2040.
boom007 on September 4, 2008 at 11:21 AM
The wife and I were rolling last night when we saw Piper doing the spit do. As parents of five ourselves, it was touching.
I think Gov. Palin has gotten the wife fired up.
Marine_Bio on September 4, 2008 at 11:21 AM
Btw, was it not the cutest moment ever when Sarah giddily laughed at the women with the Hockey Mom’s signs? I LOVED that.
nickj116 on September 4, 2008 at 11:21 AM
To all of palin’s critics:
It is easier to have 5 children then it is to have one or two. The older ones take care of the younger ones, and so there is never a lack of care in the house, and the older ones become more responsible.
Palin should have two or three more kids (not that it’s any of my business…).
Johnny 100 Pesos on September 4, 2008 at 11:22 AM
See? Even at the convention Palin is ignoring her children and forcing them to look after each other.
Bishop on September 4, 2008 at 11:22 AM
My usually apolitical lady is on fire for the Palin family.
Matticus Finch on September 4, 2008 at 11:23 AM
My spousal unit said, “Awwwwwwww”…and then gave me that look which says “lets have another baby”.
Tread carefully with this clip, gentlemen, tread carefully.
Bishop on September 4, 2008 at 11:24 AM
I was watching Olby late last night, and he was ragging on Palin about the fact that she mentioned the date and location of Track’s deployment. He said that revealing that information was against some military regulation.
Some HA commenter, however, noted that the local Ft. Bragg paper announces that stuff all the time. Oops, Olby.
Then, because Palin said that Track was deploying on 9/11 when, apparently, that’s the date of the deployment ceremony (rather than the date they leave the country), that that would be a “subject of Democratic scrutiny.”
It was hilarious. The guy had excrement coming out in three places: vomiting, urinating, and crapping.
So, look for a scandal today called, say, Announcement-gate.
BuckeyeSam on September 4, 2008 at 11:25 AM
This video of Piper caring for the baby just fried the brains of the libs. “Not fair! Not fair! It looks too caring and good! These people are supposed to be white trailer trash!”
And then when the family came on stage and Governor Palin instinctively went right to the baby and held it in her arms…that went right to heart of every woman with children. Authentic. Real.
Please, Democrats, please keep underestimating Gov. Palin and McCain.
———-
And McCain, do put Hucakabee and Guiliani on the road criss-crossing America giving the humorous jabs at deflating Obama. It was great humor and just blew away the image of Obama.
There needs to be more poking fun of Biden and Obama – it works at chopping them down to size and showing what fakes they are.
(You can tell Romney to stay home – the guy gave a lousy, stereotypipical out-of-touch politician, speech.)
albill on September 4, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Too few appreciate Karl’s patience and effectiveness with children. It’s really one of his greatest strengths.

No she will be eligible to follow in her mothers footsteps at age 18. City Councilwomen in 2020.
meci on September 4, 2008 at 11:27 AM
At one point, Cindy McCain was holding the baby, and I was sure she was the secret mother of Trig Palin.
That’s how it works, right? Whomever holds the baby is the secret mother?
Mattpat11 on September 4, 2008 at 11:27 AM
What perfect timing on the part of the director and the cameraman!
Johnny 100 Pesos on September 4, 2008 at 11:28 AM
Forgot about it. I guess my mind has been distracted by the attacks on the cubscout/boyscout bus in 2008.
shick on September 4, 2008 at 11:29 AM
The vid is reason #1 as to why I will vote for McCain/Palin.
Reason #2? – Knowing that instead of hiding Bristol back in Alaska, they brought Bristol’s fiance’ to Minn and put the guy on stage as a member of the family! What liberal would do that???
If Chelsea had been pregnant in the 96 reelection, do any of us believe that Bill and Hill would have let her within 100 miles of a camera? They would have been ashamed and forced her to have an abortion. Not the Palins! They are celebrating their new arrival.

Since Trig wasn’t your typical fussy crying baby either in the audience or on-stage, he was drugged.
LOL! Read it in their comment section under this exact YouTube. Arianna Huffington must be out of her mind to put cute Republican kids on her site.
Marcus on September 4, 2008 at 11:31 AM
While Cindy McCain was holding Trig, I saw her lean down and kiss him. Being a mom, myself, I loved that spontaneous gesture. I’ve done it a million times when my kids were babies.
With Cindy bringing home Bridget from Mother Teresa’s ministry and the Palin family, we’ve two families that love kids.
Somewhere Mark Steyn must be happy today.
INC on September 4, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Likely made by someone without kids. Any good parent know that when a kid is exhausted they can sleep through anything.

shick on September 4, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Why are both of you on here blogging instead of looking after your children?
If you don’t have children, maybe you should before making a mother the object of your biased scrutiny.
If you do have children, and they’re in school, maybe you should busy yourself with understanding what your children are being taught so they don’t grow up to form another society of liberal freakshows.
Perhaps that child didn’t have hair gel and brush because simple items have been prohibited at the RNC due to all of the whackjob communists that are destroying the city of St. Paul in protest of the RNC’s right to peacably assemble. The party of tolerance strikes again……

Oh, great! The reason I couldn’t view the video was because someone hacked into my youtube account and posted porn videos. Youtube stinks! I’m the victim and they treat me as the criminal.
Blake on September 4, 2008 at 11:37 AM
“Since Trig wasn’t your typical fussy crying baby either in the audience or on-stage, he was drugged.”
Babies who are well-cared for are rarely fussy, for very long anyway.
And when they get fussy it’s three things – hungry, sleepy or poopy.
Tend to those needs in a timely manner and the baby is not fussy, it’s happy – like Trig.
But what am I thinking, it’s a lib making that comment. What do libs know about babies? Besides what they see on TV?
NoDonkey on September 4, 2008 at 11:38 AM
My favorite part was when Piper was waving at the end. I could just picture her practicing all week. She looked like a little Queen Elizabeth. Too bad she wasn’t wearing the crown she had on last Friday.
bopbottle on September 4, 2008 at 11:41 AM
Four years ago at the DNC, I distinctly remember the youngest girl being held and falling asleep through all the noise. Guess she was drugged up, too.

I saw a clip of this on Commie News Net this morning and almost punched the set. After they showed this darling girl and her baby brother, they cut to a clip from “Farenheit 911″ (I think?) showing Wolfowitz licking his comb, and running it through is hair, grinning like one of the extras in “Freaks.”

McCain pointed out “what a beautiful family” the Palin family are when he was on stage.
If that makes them all fair game, I don’t think it matters to them. They will stick together no matter what happens.
Everything is tougher in Alaska.

Expect DNC to release counter-clip of Michell Obama spit-slicking Joe Biden’s hair plugs.
FiveWays on September 4, 2008 at 12:06 PM
Yeah, and if you watch in slow motion you can see her try to give a Nazi salute but she is just so drugged that she can’t. All she can do is the grooming motion she was trained to do. There are also allegations from extended family members in Alaska that she has a secret criminal past where she has stolen candy from, damaged property of, and assaulted multiple sisters to the point where they said “ouch.”
Kos and HuffPo are investigating now and if you people think Bristol had it bad, just wait. They will not let this Piper chick ruin The One.

Surly most Americans will see that.

She’s got experience licked. ;)

I fell in love with the baby in Sarah’s arms on stage. What a precious bundle of wonder and joy.
Trig Palin is the poster child of what Barack Obama insists can be left in the dirty laundry to die.
Night and day between these two families.
I hope and pray that America is able to see that love is beautiful and that every baby is worth loving.

When I saw little Piper and Trig during the speech I thought it was simply awesome.
It was so authentic, so real, and you could see the deep love Piper has for her little brother.
Even that little expression on her face at the end, as if she tasted something strange from Trig’s hair…
And the way his father kept glancing over and checking on him from time to time also was authentic – you can’t fake that.

Blake on September 4, 2008 at 12:53 PM
I’ve lived in DC…worked inside the Beltway, came to know a lot of typical Washington liberals along the way…and ya know what?
Most of their kids were basket cases. Had Nanny’s. Had scheduled “play groups.” Could not be taken out in public lest they a) catch something b) get their clothes dirty, c) scrape a knee, if they played sports they had to belong to the right team, not some sort of pleb sand-lot league, and spent hours with professional therapists so they could “handle” problems…all of that and more.
Those kids from normal homes…the homes without a nanny, who took their kids to church on Sunday, let their kids go out back and get dirty because it was, well, fun, didn’t mind if a passle of neighbor kids used the driveway as a basketball court, or used a vacant lot for a pick-up game of ball…those kids behaved quite well in public, called their elders sir or ma’am, acted like…like Palin’s kids.
(Another reason why I got out of DC and headed to the Midwest with my kids.)
This Rockwell moment was as authentic as it gets, folks.
Kids who know they are loved, pass that love along to their siblings. Kids who are treated like ornamentation, a box to check off on the scorecard of life, well, they tend to act like self-serving brats…after all, that is what they see their parents doing.
Guess all the libs saying all this trash about last night’s Piper/Trig moment really need to re-assess what sort of parents they have been over the years.

I suspect it also makes them uncomfortable, knowing how they would handled a similar pregnancy. The symbolism of love for a child which would never have survived in their world has to make them squirm. I daresay more than a few of them may not have slept well last night because of past actions placed in the context of Piper and Trig.

We saw this last night on Cspan and laughed out loud. It wasn’t the only moment that showed what a loving family the Palins are. You can see it in all the faces of the children when Sarah walks out on stage for the first time. Their faces light up with love. Before she enters you can see slight nervousness on the faces of Bristol and Levi.

In the grand vision of Democrats, child care will be provided by unionized government employees, make no mistake.
And they won’t be undocumented illegals, they’ll be former undocumented illegals who will instantly become lifelong Democrats/union members.
