By popular request. The questions emerging at this hour: Given that she’s appearing at a political event, isn’t it only fair to let the media tear Piper Palin to pieces? And more importantly, could Piper be the secret mother of baby Trig? Stay tuned to the Daily Dish for more on these developing issues.

Adorable. Family values at work.

Best personal moment of either convention. Number two is Sen. Obama’s daughter reminding him what city he was in.

BadgerHawk on September 4, 2008 at 10:43 AM

Maybe Todd isn’t really the First Dude. He could be the First Shemale.

Maybe Todd is a hermaphrodite? He could be Trig’s Mom and Dad?

Jeebus, what’s next?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on September 4, 2008 at 10:43 AM

Title it Family Values.

meci on September 4, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Of course the lefties wil spin this that Palin has abandoned her baby to be taken care of by her daughter.

William Amos on September 4, 2008 at 10:44 AM

I look forward to seeing her hrow up, and I know her mom will ground her in better values than Junior Gore got at the Naval Observatory.

sven10077 on September 4, 2008 at 10:44 AM

The sad thing is that’s a funny line… but how many would be sickened to see the pundits go after that scene? Oh wait… Andrew Sullivan already has.

How great is that! A simple caring act that transcends banality. The msm will claim it was scripted.

indythinker on September 4, 2008 at 10:45 AM

And more importantly, could Piper be the secret mother of baby Trig?

Ok, just spit my coffee all over the screen!

Mrs. Magoo and I talked about this on the way to work today. She said I will never forget Piper doing that. And the best part was Todd gave Trig over to Piper. No hesitation about Piper holding the baby or anything. Just a great family all chipping in with Trig. I have the feeling Trig will be just fine while mom’s at work.

Precious.

Is Trig even human? Might he not be part space alien or Bat Boy?

I’m just waiting for the MSM idio-pundit to decry Gov. Palin for being an unfit mother for having her kids stay up so late (past 11 pm! on a school night!) without realizing that Alaskans are on Alaskan time, and 4 hours behind East Coast time. I bet there’s going to be someone falling for that bait.

A great example of how Sarah Palin is a bad mother. Having a 6 year old babysit her baby.

What’s that? Family taking responsibility for their own members, loving one another?? Oh, never mind.

originalpechanga on September 4, 2008 at 10:47 AM

Is there a chance that kid isn’t the cutest 7 year old in North America?

maladapted on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

Saw this moment on CNN’s feed. Absolutely perfect, completely unscripted. Wonder if Milky Glutes (Ace’s term for Sullivan) will find some cynical Trutherism in this moment.

I’m not accusing the McCain campaign of anything here, but isn’t it strange that Piper would be doing such an adorable thing at just the right moment to get caught on tape? Dare I say, this looks maternal even? Again, not making accusations, I’m just raising Very Important Issues here. Also, I’ve never felt the love of a good woman, or would even recognize familial happiness.

/Sullivan off

They could run Trig against Obama and as far as experience is concerned, they’d be about even.

‘cept that Trig has not written two books about himself, that is.

Tony737 on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

There is another moment that is both grounding and phenomenal. When the family came out, they were all waving, and Sarah went and carried her new child around, showing she’s still a mother and she’s ready to lead.

It’s was subliminal, but a very powerful image.

Vincenzo on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

That Trig is such a “burden”…

Mr_Magoo on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

Will he grow up to be Batman?

Bigfoot on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

The normally sorta-sane ‘Talk Left’ has decided to pull the gloves off and hammer Bristol, all because she had the audacity to appear on stage with Levi.

Face it, the howling leftist baboons see no difference between a conservative candidate and their family, everyone is fair game in their fevered minds.

Bishop on September 4, 2008 at 10:48 AM

Such a beautiful and loving family. Just so good to see. I don’t know how that people that are trying to smear them can sleep at night.

If they make an issue out of piper, I’m going to start a campaign to drown those SOBs in angry letters. There are some lines you do NOT cross.

TheUnrepentantGeek on September 4, 2008 at 10:49 AM

One of the many joys I have, being a grandmother of five, is watching the affection displayed by the older children to new babies and siblings. My daughter and son-in-law provide a warm, loving example and the kids follow along. I think the Palin couple may be better parents than they are given credit for. What a lovely picture. What a dear big sister!

marybel on September 4, 2008 at 10:50 AM

Why does the media ignore that Obama brought his wife and children onto stage after his speech? Yet he wants the kids left alone, too….

Vincenzo on September 4, 2008 at 10:50 AM

I joked to my husband that Governor Palin should have stopped her speech and yelled “Piper, stop putting spit on your little brother’s hair!”

Jeebus, what’s next?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on September 4, 2008 at 10:43 AM

Well, I put my tin foil hat on after hearing about the Enquirer affair rumor, and I think they will say that Todd is not Trig’s father. That leaves Excruciating Andy continuing to demand medical records and DNA tests.

Sorry to put that idea out there, but I think it’s highly likely.

Brat on September 4, 2008 at 10:50 AM

the sad part is that one side of our great American Family is repulsed or feels threatened at the sight of a normal family doing normal things and why the other half celebrates and embraces a simple act of kindness

EricPWJohnson on September 4, 2008 at 10:51 AM

All American kids–the Left hates them.

A lot of networks caught that shot.

When Palin introduced her husband and said, “And he’s still my guy,” the network I was watching went from Todd to two older women and they were EATING this up.

The Palin Family is absolute poison for Obama and the left.

BuckeyeSam on September 4, 2008 at 10:51 AM

Actually it was Piper who told her father to give her Trig so he could stand up after being introduced.

Flash forward 20 years and imagine Sarah’s political instincts in someone who’s spent her life studying high-level politics from the inside.

Piper Palin’s going to crush her opponents.

KCSteve on September 4, 2008 at 10:51 AM

I bet many on the left do not even know there are families in this country so full of love that they fight over who gets to love on the baby next.

nickj116 on September 4, 2008 at 10:51 AM

what will the reaction be if people start going off on Obama’s kids who showed up also?

ridiculous.

YellowDawg on September 4, 2008 at 10:52 AM

Huh? The Republican message about the Palin offspring comes across as contradictory: Hey, media, leave those kids alone _ so we can use them as we see fit.

You can tell that the Palins emphasize family at home when you see Piper helping take care of her little brother.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on September 4, 2008 at 10:52 AM

Clearly a shamelessly scripted effort by the Gov to reach out to the 6mos-4 year old constituency and distract voters from the real issues in this election.

Kids flown in from central casting…

right2bright on September 4, 2008 at 11:07 AM

“It takes a village” or better, it takes a family and friends to raise a child.

Hillary advisers agree that the media is sexist against Palin.

What we’re dealing with now, there’s nothing subtle about it,” said Deborah Tannen. “We’re dealing with the assumption that child-rearing is the job of women and not men. Is it sexist? Yes.”

“There’s no way those questions would be asked of a male candidate,” said Howard Wolfson a former top strategist for Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Women voters agree that it takes misogyny to go so far as the media went.

Discerning voters see that sexism composed by Senator Nada Obama. He conducts his serial cacophony chorus of transvestite harpies, his liberated baby killer enforcers, and chauvinist cohorts.

Misnomer is too politically correct, because there is nothing subtle about Obama’s nuance as socialist Newspeak. White women need not apply.

Meanwhile, innocence of love prevails as families and friends protect babies and children together with Sarah Palin! I rejoice for the Palin family love, and send them my support.

That the CHOICE was theirs to make is another reason to support that family’s decision.

That Palin has no problem with women practicing birth control prevention remains a subdued point on her record.

At least half of the people who believe in abortion rights would agree that even if a female chooses abortion, there is no justification for the government to provide that service, and no justification for taxpayers to provide that service PARTICULARLY when taxpayers denounce the termination of babies’ lives while in gestation or upon birth.
