Nailed it !!!
Grand slam, outta the park !!!
Sarahcuda RAWKS DA HAY-OWZ !!!
But seriously. Fantastic delivery of an excellent speech that at times sounded…Reagan-esque !
And, our girl delivers the jabs with a stilleto blade, and a velvet glove…
No question that a star is born, not just for the conservative faithful, but for national politics in general…
MAALOX ALL AROUND FOR KEEFY, CHRIS TINGLE, AND ALL THE MSNBC/OBAMA PRO-BONO CAMPAIN OPERATIVES!!!
RocketmanBob on September 4, 2008 at 12:45 AM
If you’ve followed politics at all, you know that McCain and Bush butted heads repeatedly over the last 8 years. CFR, interrogation, the Surge, etc. In fact, I can’t remember any interparty rivalry like it in my lifetime.
But if you go over to a leftwing site, they call the man “McSame” as if the last 8 years never happened. I know its a useful talking point for them to use on people who don’t follow politics…but I swear some of them seem to believe it.

Obama should be worried about who Biden is going to vote for.

Great pick, great speech.
My vision of America hopefully will last.

quite Bush met them halfway starting in DC heading west so many times he eats dinner at SanFranNan’s….
History will mock the hell out of the modern dem talking points.
sven10077 on September 4, 2008 at 12:49 AM
If the teleprompter broke, it was entirely unnoticed by me & everyone else. Effortless, classic great speech.
jgapinoy on September 4, 2008 at 12:49 AM
Olbermann started quoting an AP story about how absurd it is of the GOP to trot out her family after saying they are offlimits to politics. The funny thing is, Obama said his family was off limits as well, and he trotted out his daughters on stage, but got no AP criticism for it.
Vincenzo on September 4, 2008 at 12:50 AM
I wonder if US Magazine now regrets the piece of crap they’re publishing this week. Their salacious garbage story is SOOOOOO August 30th. I dearly hope that magazine circles the drain and goes down it for that abomination and that they have been humiliated by this AWESOME speech.

BREAKING NEWS: PALIN MAY GET PREGNANT TONIGHT
This is fun! Let’s make up partisan myths and post them as breaking news, just like CNN!

I hope the New York Times and Washington Post has good health care coverage because their entire staffs are going to require therapy after this.

If you thought Palin’s speech was a 10, then get over to rnc.org and GIVE 10.
Ronnie on September 4, 2008 at 12:52 AM
so is media going to ignore this, and continue the all out baseless attacks and controlling of news that would help her?
jp on September 4, 2008 at 12:52 AM
WAIT A SECOND. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THE TELEPROMPTER BROKE?
Vincenzo on September 4, 2008 at 12:53 AM
You guys are gluttons for punishment. I don’t know how you can do it.
After one go-round with David Brooks playing the moderate Democrat after Mitt’s speech, laughing about how he’s now a “radical rightwingnut”, and then having Lehra send it over to hound-faced Mark Shields and his whackjob left analysis – I turned off all analysis.
Fox had nitwit Hannity on – can’t take him – so when the speech started we went back to PBS. But, no, I certainly couldn’t watch any of the hard leftists analyze this…
Jaibones on September 4, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Go back to sleep Allah.
But first, have another drink. Don’t worry; things will look bleaker in the morning…I’m sure.
FiveWays on September 4, 2008 at 12:53 AM
I had wondered this, because it seemed like it at one point in speech but all the appluase covered up the problem it caused her.

If I were her husband, I would never have been as turned on as I would be tonight.
MadisonConservative on September 4, 2008 at 12:54 AM
Sarah rocked it. That was one of the best speeches I have ever seen. Video doesn’t work for me though.

Mallard T. Drake on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Well, I’ll suck up to AP a bit on this but I appreciate his wet blanket commentary. I don’t like it but I think it’s sobering and necessary. I’m as excited as the next guy over the Palin pick but AP’s right to be cautious.

BREAING! Gov. Palin didn’t write her speech!
/sarcasm
I love how all the liberal pundits keep bringing that up. No mention that Biden didn’t write his, or Obama didn’t write his, or anyone really.
Enoxo on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
She took her family up there and shoved her love for them right smack in the liberals fat faces.
To the guy who said on a different thread that he hoped Palin would gut a caribou on stage, buddy my man, she did and the caribou’s name was DFL Obama.
Biden better get his contract in writing RIGHT NOW (ht: Rudy) because those clickety heels you hear have “HC” written on them.
Bishop on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Audio is here though.
Dawnsblood on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
What I saw was not sarcasm–more of that from Rudy, really, but vindictiveness. Kind of like “How do you like them apples, biotch!” For those of us who are aware of the back story, it’s appropriate, there’s a context for that attitude. They’ve been making her eat crap for the last few days, and she is waaaay past tired of it. For anyone who hasn’t been paying attention, they may wonder why she has a chip on her shoulder. That’s ok, though, because it looks like the attacks will continue, if the Inquirer story is any indication, and people will see other sides of her as well. She’s got it. We are talking serious political talent. I wish I could have seen the funereal atmosphere at MSNBC. A shot of schadenfreude would have gone really well as a night-cap.
smellthecoffee on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Flipped to MSNBC for a second and they were reporting it broke. UberAhole congratulated her on “that aspect at least.”
TheBigOldDog on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
I’ve got $50 says Sarah killed, cleaned, and dressed that red meat 10 minutes before appearing on stage.
Mallard T. Drake on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM
If its true the teleprompter broke (I noticed her flipping through the pages on the podium, but didn’t think that the prompter broke), this woman may just be the next coming of Reagan.
You cannot, i repeat, cannot give that speech without a telepromter. Not a first time in a big hall. Not when getting the speech the day before.
If she did this, she is a f’ing genius.
Vincenzo on September 4, 2008 at 12:56 AM

Intereting that Mort Kondracke and Nina Easton (the ones I saw say this) were saying the Obama talking points BEFORE they came out…that the speech was written for her. Not surprising, really…just laughable they’d reduce themselves to THAT.
SouthernGent on September 4, 2008 at 12:57 AM

This speech was epic by itself, but if the teleprompter really broke (I’m doubtful) that will be legend.

So the Dems launched Obama’s candidacy based on that speech he gave at the convention in 2004.
I guess Palin is more qualified to be president now then he is by *any* measure.
18-1 on September 4, 2008 at 1:00 AM
It’s their only only talking point, since the internet services went down with the teleprompter and they can’t access Daily Kos.
Damiano on September 4, 2008 at 1:00 AM
Well – we could just treat it as fact because it suits our purposes. Kind of like the other side.
Nyah. Speech was good enough as it was. Besides, Clinton (Bill) already had a “teleprompter broke but went on brilliantly” big speech. Wasn’t it his big Health Care speech in ‘93?
CK MacLeod on September 4, 2008 at 1:00 AM
Yeah, I’m calling shens on that too. Even if it’s true, do you think any major media outlets will admit it?
If it’s true, I’m taking up religion. I think Allah should, too.
MadisonConservative on September 4, 2008 at 1:00 AM
It looked like the teleprompter broke because you could see her looking at the notes on the podium. At thr time I thought she was working from notes and never thought of the teleprompter breaking.

jp on September 4, 2008 at 1:02 AM
I think the general public, and certainly anyone watching a political convention, is aware of the smear job the MSM is running on Palin right now. They might not know the details…but I think they’ve gotten the jist.
18-1 on September 4, 2008 at 1:03 AM

You know, I think this is just more anti-teleprompter stuff. Between the teleprompter companies and Community Organizers, we might have two constituencies lost to the GOP for a generation.
CK MacLeod on September 4, 2008 at 1:03 AM
At one point in the speech, I saw her flipping through the pages and could see nothing on the teleprompter, but . . .
Loxodonta on September 4, 2008 at 1:04 AM

I thought Huck was good tonight and he got in a few zingers that had me laughing. I don’t like the guy politically but he gave a solid speech.
Bishop on September 4, 2008 at 1:10 AM
MSNBC is re-playing Rudy. He’s at the part where everyone was laughing about the “community organizer” job.
I’ll bet that had to hurt. Oh well, blacks weren’t going to vote for McCain anyway. Undecideds are asking, “WTF is a community organizer? You mean he just went around complaining to banks that they should loan money to people who wouldn’t repay their loans? Didn’t Walter Williams crucify that kind of rabble-rousing in a recent article?”
