The best people could do to defend McCain before was pointing out how much worse Obama would be. That’s not the kind of argument that gets people out to the polls in droves.

Kilkenny’s ticked because the governor/legislature didn’t allocate more money to a custodial wages labor dispute (or crisis) that was occurring in a Wasilla school district.

The woman has issues with Gov. Palin. And probably the AK Republican Party. And they probably go way back. Just based on the implications of this little snippit, her assertions are suspect. Her motivations (she’s also a Democrat) are VERY suspect.

Like someone else said: it can get really, really vicious in small towns, especially when it comes to politics. It ain’t always white doves, butterflies, and rainbows in the hustings.

Once again, I note we saw Chelsea Clinton an awful lot — even campaigning with her mother, and speaking on her behalf! — but the media has never claimed Chelsea was fair game. And of course Obama’s daughters too. Political……

I am not surprised. The hispanics I have encountered are not as pro-Obama as you would think. The leftie college types yes. The average working class ones, not so much.

That’s been my experience too. In TX, everyone is Mexican. I was at a friend’s birthday party with a bunch of friends and family. Discussion turned briefly to politics and, me being the business guy, everyone asked my opinion.

10 minutes later, it was a group of devout Republicans.

The problem is that this group is generally written off in campaigns or not communicated with well. Latios are BIG on family values, most are pro-life and almost all are hard workers who believe in earning a better life for their families. The problem is that they have been sold a bill of good by the Democrats and think that they will get more financial benefits on that side. As soon as someone explains how that costs jobs, they flip.

Sarah is tough as nails, and appears to like loyalty in her staff. If she toes the McCain line, she’ll do great.

However, the MSM will try to show she is Nixonian, not like Reagan. They will eventually move to attacking her as being ruthless.

Now, that might fly, but personally I want some of that to take on a Dem Congress and not be afraid to veto the shit they are gonna get from Pelosi and Reid to sign.

And if ruthlessness is all they can get on her, there are mountains on Obama illustrating his lack of ANY balls to be ruthless when he has to be.

Anne Kilkenny is a Democrat and a quick Google search show’s she didn’t surface until 31 August 2008. Where was all her concern when Palin was running for Lt. Governor and Governor of the state Kilkenny lived in?

Murphy doesn’t understand the major benefit to all the down-ticket races now that the base has been securely hitched up. Those other races had to distance themselves, to varying extent, from McCain because of the animus that was still around (myself contributing), among the base. Now, all of the races can run on a few main, unifying ideas. This was evident in the lineup of speakers last night. The teamwork was quite astounding, I thought.

Murphy doesn’t understand how important it was to get the base aboard, and happy, and Governor Palin did that, and then some. I don’t think any other pick, that would have satisfied the base, would have had as much of a possibly wider appeal, nor such a stunning effect – which cannot be overlooked. McCain stunned EVERYONE!! It was masterful. He made the Dems look like total morons. They’re still reeling from it. I think some of the smarter folks on the left are scared of some other McCain move coming out of left field and destroying them.

What election has she been watching to think McCain would have no worries about high turnout from the base?

Does he really think there was someone Code Pink members in Detroit were going to embrace?

Agreed. I also read that whole attack email. The author seems to have an intense political and personal grudge and is attempting to pretend otherwise.

On that E-mail circulated by someone who supposedly lived in Wasilla, can anyone here verify her, whether she really served on the Wasilla town council, and whether her claims are true or just sour grapes?

Ok I typed that above portion before googling her and turns out I appear to be right on those assumptions.
