Well, as far as McCain being a class act, one anecdote related by a colleague who was in attendance at an event honoring John McCain at which a number of McCain’s fellow senators and VIP’s were in attendance:
Following the event, as everyone headed to their cars, the fellow-senators and VIP’s pushed their way to the head of the line in front of the “common folk” to get their cars from the valets. McCain was standing in line with the regular people, some of the other people in line urged him to go ahead, after all, he was the guest of honor. His answer? “Nope, I’ll wait my turn”.
When I heard that story, my opinion of him (not very high at the time because of the amnesty bill) was raised quite a bit.

Like a lot of folks here I haven’t been a McCain fan in the past…far from it but this video, especially his meeting with Bristol and her fiance’ strikes as being so genuine, warm and kind. I really found it moving and it showed a side of McCain that I didn’t know about. I don’t think many people do and that’s a shame.

Believe it or not you can see and almost hear what he’s saying to those kids. His sincerity actually shows in his actions. He feels for those kids and what they’ve had to hear and deal with over the past few days.

I was resigned to hold my nose and vote for John McCain with little to no enthusiasm. George W. Bush was too moderate for me and McCain makes him look conservative. But I am elated with Sarah Palin and I am starting to get excited about Mr. McCain in spite of myself. At Saddleback, when he admitted his biggest regret was the failure of his first marriage and then he took responsibility for it’s failure he gained a little more of my respect. I know it was a political move, but he could have still advoided mentioniing it and went for some legislative failure. I liked that. I like the classy way he is handling this situation with Bristol Palin. I am also more and more impressed with Cindy McCain. I was touched last night when the other little girl from Bangladesh came out with her adoptive father (sorry I don’t remember their names). Cindy McCain, by all accounts, has been the real deal when it comes to working with impoverished children. Just imagine the accolades if Michelle Obama had ever even so much as stepped foot in Bangladesh.

You know so many of us owe John McCain a huge apology starting with me.

During the GOP primaries I couldn’t stand him. I was a solid Rudy and then Mitt guy. I cursed the name John McCain.

Now, after his pick of Sarah, and seeing this video, I luv this guy! Capital ‘C’ for classy.

Anyone who thinks the American military has killed more than a million Iraqis does not need to be talking about someone else’s lack of knowledge or experience or anything else. Obama has made some completely outrageous mistakes that would bury any normal person..but because he has other uninformed people such as your self and a drooling compliant press he can get away with much.

But if he wins, his friends in the press can only hide so much, lie so much and evade so much. Sooner or later, he will have to do the job or fall flat on his face.

It was all McCain had when he stayed at the Hanoi Hilton. It was all Roger Staubach had when he threw the winning touchdown pass and uttered a Hail Mary.

As I recall, the pass was completed and the Cowboys won.

McCain’s campaign was a long shot for a long time. Dead in the water at one point. I have Palinmania. I guess this is what it feels like to be in the tank.

This absolutely the best stance. The more exposure Sarah, Bristol and her Husband to be gets the less impact all the negative hype will have. Just stay in their face cause you know the left can only spew their sewage under cover of dark. They throw huge amounts against the wall and just wait to see what sticks thats all.
