I believe this was precisely the intent of nominating Palin: McCain's camp knew that Democrats would overshoot in their attacks, and wind up revealing themselves as the elitists they are.

Remember: America more closely resembles the Jerry Springer show than it does open mic night at the local poetry cafe.

Sarah will eviscerate Biden in the VP debate.

He parrots sound bites that have been carefully scripted by political consultants, and she speaks from her heart.

It is so absolutely refreshing to see a candidate who is not part of the ruling elite.

She is a blessing.

Holy moly, DinobotPrime is a 15 year old loon?

1. She ran a city and a state. There's a big difference between being a professional voter (see Congress) and an executive. She has more experience running a government than either Biden or Obama. On the other hand, John McCain was a leader of men during war (well, Viet Nam). McCain freezes the Dem ticket on inexperience, not the other way around, just goes to show you're a lefty playing a righty...people don't usually pitch as well opposite handed. McCain also freezes Obama out on the Washington "insider" crap Obama sold his faithful prior to picking Biden, one of the ultimate insiders.

2. McCain having Palin, who's sex is only a concern to the closet bigots (that's you Democrats/Libs) is because of her values, reformer tilt (she walks the walk) and a strong person. She was on the short list among Conservatives for a few months now and was mentioned several times here in fact. Being a female is just be a bonus and a very savvy move because it also freezes the racism card with the sexism card.

3. More of your closet-bigotry showing through...Todd is going to be Mr. Mom, but beside that, you don't even comprehend your bigotry because you know nobody asks Obama about his kids, or McCain about his adopted kid, or asked John Kennedy about his young kids. Not to mention, none of the liberal media would ask a female Democrat this line of questioning.

4. Already disproved tripe. I think the majority of conservatives are more concerned that Democrats are, or becoming, out and out Socialists. We're worried that someone that has associations with Ayers and who's spiritual leader and pastor for 20 years is an anti-American racist is so wildly popular with voters and might become the PotUS, wouldn't we be similarly worried if someone like David Duke were in line to be PotUS?

5. The Bridge to Nowhere decision. Minor pork barrel issue. We can easily match this with stories on the other side of the aisle. Also, we can counter this with Palin's *actions* in cutting excess in her government, cutting taxes and putting conservative economic principles to work in AK.

No one on the right is suggesting McCain drop Palin, the reaction by the right has been extremely strong and supportive, especially through all of the stupid smear campaign crap that the left has thrown at her.

1 ) Mitt Romney : ...The cons , he’s rich , he’s successful and he is a practicing Mormon .

Wow, bigoted much? BTW, *no one* on the right sees being rich as a "con", we like success. More of the lefty shining through Dumbo.

2) Eric Cantor ... He is a practicing Jew

Your racism is down right creepy. Can you speak in public like this, or do you regularly get beaten? I'm betting that you are (a) unemployed and (b) younger than 25.

3) Fred Thompson : Good VP Pick if he is 20 years younger.

Moron, Thompson is 66 (August 1942). Twenty years younger and he's 46 which is 2 years younger than Obama and only 2 years older than Palin. If such youth and inexperience is a problem for you, then being 46 and a VP choice is going to cut it for you. Do just a moment's worth of research would you dumb-ass? Again, you're obviously a lefty troll cruising a right-oriented blog. A real right winger would have known a bit about teh Fred!

4) Mike Huckabee 2 words, Christian Minister .

Could you be any more inane? No one on the left cares if Jesse Jackson is a Christian reverend/minister/pastor, nor Al Sharpton. Do you think the right actually thinks its a con to have a devout Christian as a Presidential nominee...I'm beginning to wonder if you've ever even spoken to a conservative.

5) Bobby Jindal : ...The cons , well , does the term inexperience and race traitor come to mind ?
Yes, whenever I think how the liberal trolls will play this. You see, this is the Nth reason why we know you're not a conservative/righty, we don't care what color someone is, and the only ones that call other "race traitors" and "Uncle Tom" are the liberals (see the treatment of Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Condi Rice, etc.). As long as they are on the left, they are "historical", but if they are conservatives, they are "race traitors". Newsflash Dumbo, Martin Luther King was a Republican. Now, while you pick your jaw off the floor, I *double dog dare you* to call MLK a race traitor. C'mon, you can do it...

Bigots are typically ignored, and for good reason.

I'm calling you out as a troll and a bigot.

5) Tim Pawlenty : ... he is a practicing Christian .

Not a "con" except to possibly atheists (sorry, AP) and bigots.

6) Joe Lieberman - A party traitor and a Jew to boot

Yeah, racist bigot is all up in here. The con on Lieberman is that he is a liberal, his policies and positions, with the exception of Iraq, would not work on the conservative ticket. McCain is already a RINO in the eyes of most here, Lieberman would seal McCain's loss as a center-left candidate to the far left Obama/Biden ticket.

I blame this on your parents, they shouldn't let you use the internet unsupervised. Get some help young man/woman.

Okay, they want to play that game.
Biden's son, Hunter, the lobbyist needs to keep the money flowing in because he is a drug addict.
That's right, sources say he couldn't have gone into the military because he would not have been able to pass the drug test.
His dad knew he needed money and a job, but no company would hire him so he became a lobbyist to support his habit.
He has obtained over 2 million dollars from his dad's votes and friends, all the while keeping his drug habit alive.
Now prove that he is not...
*
See how that goes?
How about this?
*
Michelle Obama has been meeting secretly with Bernadine Dorn to set up a counter government inner city program to teach Marxism and revolution to the inner city school children.
They have met several times and have laid the ground work for the after school inner city program. Laced with quotes from Karl Marx, it will be billed under the guise as a
"after school integrity program" ASIP in Chicago will be the first of the Marxist style schools dedicated to the overthrow of the tradional school system.
Now prove she has never met with Dorn...

Conservatives must face the possibility that the influence of biased news coverage, liberal indoctrination in most American universities and public schools and the impact television/entertainment over the past decades has the potential to change our value system and, thus, change voting patterns. After all, when an Al Gore and/or a John Kerry can come within a gnat's hair of leading the nation, red flags should go up.

There will always be unsavory characters trying to get elected to the highest office in the land. It will be the PEOPLE who are finally convinced by propaganda to place their vote for such characters. The U.S. is now exposed to the same type of organized propaganda on the left as the Nazis employed in the 1930's......except it is not government imposed; it is all done voluntary by those members of "The Church of the Left" whom have succeeded in gaining influence and power in the areas necessary to mold public opinion.

Hitler wanted "change". While Obama is not a Hitler (yet??) we must remember that Hitler was initially placed in power democratically. And the Obama supporters who blindly give him their support remind us of the "useful idiots" of 1939 raising their right arms shouting "Sieg Heil!". Yup, change we can believe in!

To think conservative thought can survive in the sea of liberal propoganda is being a little too naive. We are a nation bent upon suicide. And Obama in power may very well be the tipping point necessary to get us beyond the point of no return. Tyranny, like barbarism, can reappear at any time. And it seems man is bent upon allowing it to do so. We have met the enemy......and it is US!

“She doesn’t make exception for rape and incest, only for health of the mother,” he said

That was from her campaign manager. That position is pretty extreme in my opinion - and I think it’s going to come back and bite her with many of the swing-voters. I’m sure we’ll be seeing the media hammering her on that quote (and of course not to challenge BHO’s infanticide support).

gash on September 2, 2008 at 12:18 PM

As someone who is pro-abortion, meaning it's a privacy issue that is nobody else's business, and as a person who hates kids and will never understand how anyone has more than one on purpose, and would REQUIRE all pregnant women to prove they can afford to raise said kid without any government assistance, and be forced to name the father of said kid so he can raise it if he so chooses, or give the kid up for adoption, and if all that fails I would require them to have an abortion and get sterilized so they can't can't pregnant again....

....the only type of pro-life advocates I have any respect for at all are those, like Reagan and Palin, who do not make any exception for rape or incest.

Life is life. A baby that is conceived through rape or incest is just as innocent as any other baby. The fact that a baby may have been conceived through rape or incest is not the baby's fault. It's still a life.

Pro-lifers like Palin do not make exceptions for the "health" of the mother, either. They only make exceptions for the life of the mother. "Health" is too broad a term and can mean anything from a life threatening condition to too much stress.

Don't forget, also, that the woman who was Roe in Roe v. Wade lied about being raped.

Being pro-life means just that. There is no choice involved. If you allow the "choice" part to play any roll in abortion, such as with rape, then you have to allow it in all cases.

Anyone who claims to be pro-life and makes allowances for rape or incest is a hypocrite.

Where have all the articles and reports about that other guy running? The Black candidate. What was his name ... O... Oba ... Obama. That's it. It seems the ENTIRE focus on all the MSM has been SARAH PALIN, McCain and SARAH PALIN, pregnancy and SARAH PALIN. Mmmm.

Is Obama still running? I haven't seen much in the headlines about him. Seems he got blown over by Gustav AND SARAH Barracuda.

Nice. She's powerful. She's a woman. Conservative. Nice.

A lot of people on the conservative / libertarian as well as the LEFT side don't like Sarah Palin for a variety of reasons
1)She is a political neophyte and McCain cannot used Obama's inexperience against him because McCain himself chose a VP candidate that have the same inexperience as Obama
2) McCain in having Palin as his VP nominee and is heavily betting that he can have a massive defection of Hillary supporters on his side
3) Palin just had a baby who have Down's syndrome coupled with a daughter who is pregnant and it is selfish of her running for the position of VP when she could just say no and have her take care of her daughters in Alaska
4) She was a member of AIP
5) The Bridge to Nowhere decision .

Okay , since I had listed some of the most popular objections against Palin , I will list why who ever McCain will get as VP will not be good enough as well.
1 ) Mitt Romney : In a normal and level headed election , Romney would be the logical and excellent pick as Vice President . He got executive experience as CEO of a successful private company for several years and later become Governor of Massachusetts . The cons , he's rich , he's successful and he is a practicing Mormon . The other thing that made a lot of conservatives not happy with him was the increase state taxes in Massachusetts .
2) Eric Cantor . This Congressman would make a fine vice president candidate . Only one big problem . Are you guys ready for it . He is a practicing Jew .
3) Fred Thompson : Good VP Pick if he is 20 years younger .
4) Mike Huckabee 2 words, Christian Minister .
5) Bobby Jindal : Like Sarah Palin , very successful self made man and is a relative Washington outsider . The cons , well , does the term inexperience and race traitor come to mind ?
5) Tim Pawlenty : An excellent choice for VP as well with almost the same success like Mitt Romney . The cons , the stadium funding issue and he is a practicing Christian .
6) Joe Lieberman - A party traitor and a Jew to boot

You see , ladies and gentlemen , it does not matter who McCain would pick , the MSM , the Kos Kidzs will discredit the nominee and what's worse , the conservatives will do the same thing because the VP selected is not good enough for them . Governor Pawlenty , Congressman Cantor , Joe Lieberman and Mike Huckabee as well as Mitt Romney would be attacked because of their deep devotion to their faith . Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty would also be criticized because they are rich and out of touch with the masses . Bobby Jindal would be criticized by race mongers for converting to Roman Catholicism in order to further his ambition as well as betraying his race by being a Catholic instead of being a Hindu . Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman will be criticized for being in the Metamucil crowd . Oh yeah , there is a special place in Hell for Joe Lieberman if the Democratic party have anything to say about it . And I haven't talk about the abortion issue , the border and immigration issue , the taxes issue and a lot of other things that people would hang this guys for being not qualified .

The media and leftists will use anything against these other candidates , their wealth , their faith , their families , all for the sake of getting Obama in office . In fact , if truth be told , it would have been much better if McCain just concede the election already and have Obama and Biden respectively become President and Vice President tomorrow without the benefit of a single vote because in the eyes of the media , the Left and the Democratic Party . Obama is the One , our Saviour and our Deliverer and no puny Election should block His way to Glory . The Republican scums should be better off hiding in their holes and hope that the Uber Messiah would be merciful to them .

She will not be helped and if the Malkin Army doesn't treat this assault like the immigration reform battle, the election is lost. You better start ringing some phones of the hooks of people like that Jay Weener character who runs Us Magazine.

You better go hand to hand fast. Defense Is Not The Best Offence McCain! Malkin you better treat this like Immigration or you are going to be swept over by this scurrilous media/moonbat alliance.

That’s why all this enthusiasm for her frightens me. We’re betting so much that we’re going to get her policies and beliefs, instead of McCain’s. I think that’s a mistake and all this enthusiasm could turn to anger when we start seeing McCain’s signature moves (ie, screwing the GOP and its platform.) I know nobody wants to hear this. I am no DU plant; simply a conservative that has grown a healthy dislike for John McCain over the last 8 years. Only time will tell, and I hope I’m wrong. I like Palin.

--------

On one paw, I agree with you - we are electing McCain to POTUS, not Palin.

On the *other* paw, I don't see another path to POTUS for a sane, rational person like Palin. Gifted politician or not, it's a very unlikely route from Alaska to DC. Suspect her longer-term plan called for a stop-over in the Senate, but then Huck wouldn't leave Mitt alone....

On the *other* paw (it's good to be a cat!) If McCain/Palin flame out and crash, so what? Mitt is (relatively) clean and can run against Obama in 2012. Mitt/Fred! vs. Obama/Biden?

On the *final* paw, if McCain dies or otherwise cannot serve, I think she'll do fine in the "caretaker" role for as long as it takes. Less experience than Romney or (shudder) Huck, but more than Obama, and she'll have McCains' team advising her.

Don't think *just* tactical, think strategic. Change the game.

Obama says that he wants change. Hmmmm....

The sort of change wafted about in just about every presidential campaign (if you're not the incumbent) is go after the other guy as an "insider"....

Hmmmm, once again....

Sooo...these folks now seem to all be kvetching on cue that Gov. Palin hasn't got any experience...but they don't want "insiders"....

...and you get experience by being "inside"....

...and Mr. O picked a running mate who himself became an "insider" when Mr. O was a callow 11-year-old....

I'm soooooo confused...I've all but got this whole "dialectic" thing figured out, and then they through me this curveball.

Is George Orwell on Obama's payroll?

Its obvious Biden and Obama aren’t going to touch the pregnant daughter story with a 10 foot pole. They will just let the Kos Kidz make fun of her and how weird the Palins are.

I think the damage is done. The Obama campaign and its press surrogates have muddied the water and completely embarrassed themselves over Palin's selection. Throw in the left-wing Kos kooks and you have a very sympathetic candidate.

So far, she has been low key on the campaign trail, but watch out, she'll be the attack dog soon enough, going after Obama. O's campaign hasn't a clue what hit them.
