Oh, that struck a nerve with me. Free Republic doesn’t just ban trolls. They ban anyone who does not share their point of view. Case in point…me. I am a true blue conservative in every way, but I posted one time disagreeing with a poster and I am banned for life. I would hate to see HA go that far.

Please ban the uncivil like Free Republic and all respectable sites do.

Even wonderful underage children can be naive, stupid, uninformed, etc. Thats why God gave them parents to help them “negotiate the minefields in the brier”(R. waters, The Final Cut, The Final Cut).

“The Final Cut is a rock album by Pink Floyd recorded at various studios in the UK from July to December 1982. It is the final Pink Floyd studio album to feature the band’s bassist and primary songwriter Roger Waters. I am venting that other candidates for VP would clearly be more ready to step in and lead should something happen to McCain.

I actually have done my share of venting here as well… I’m actually a bit embarrassed by some of the stuff I wrote early on.

Maybe McCain was afraid that if the VP was too qualified the country might figure they could do without him. Palin is life insurance…

I think McCain is in good health and by the time Palin has been VP for very long she will be up to speed. She already has more experience and definitely more common sense than Obama. After a couple of years as VP she will be twice as qualified as Obama would be if he took office in 2010.

The real problem of course is that the republicans chose McCain. I believe they will lose this election. I also believe it will be painful for the country short term but may be better, MAY BE BETTER, long term.

I think McCain is going to give us another Dole experience. We shall see.

If I vote, I will be forced to vote for McCain. But I dont have to like it and I dont have to pretend that either McCain or Palin are even close to being reasonable candidates.

And, we will lose this one anyway.

I have talked to others that your point of view. And I understand. But it is what is is.

Actually, I think Allahpundit is not unsympathtic to your point of view.

I understand the frustration of electing what could be seen as a bad example. But people do make mistakes. And even the very best of Father’s lost 1/3 of His children. And will not see all of the rest home safely.

We can’t judge a person’s parenting by the mistake of one very young girl. And in fact we shouldn’t be judging her parenting at all. That is not our job. We can judge her politics and her ability but not her parenting. One of the best champions of conservative causes was not a very good parent–Ronald Reagan.

Yesterday, I was outraged that this made Palin “more authentic” not to me. She has my sympathy but I do not consider this normal or to be expected or authentic.

But we Roger are not in a majority. And who is to say if we were we would do any better?

Politically, Palin measures up. She hits all the right bases. She is in fact more conservative than I am personally.

Againfolks, Liz Trotta is not a liberal and she has a regular segment on FOX News every Sunday morning where she regularly criticizes the MSM for its liberal bias. Just because someone disagrees with you on a single issue does not magically turn them into a liberal.

And the converse is true: just because someone agrees with you on a single issue — or even several issues — does not magically, require your agreement on every issue.

So you dont believe parents should be watching their underage chilren like hawks?? My wife and I do….which is why the self-described “bad-boy” hockey player that was just kicked out of his last high school wont get anywhere near my daughter…unlike Palin’s daughter.

And sure, sometimes my girls would rather they do as they please, but they will thank my wife and I for our strict upbringing down the road. And they will hopefully also watch their children like hawks and on and on and on…

Teenagers put a whole lot of store in “trust.” The more you “watch like hawks,” the more you signal that you — in spite of your righteous upbringing — don’t trust them.
