On my vacation last weekend, democrat people in Ohio and Mass and CA said they were voting for her and McCain, because she has "spunk" and is a true reformer!

Give me a break with this stuff about her sinking McCain.

No Democrat was going to enjoy her but wait until the non-partisans see the GOP EXCITED about her and get to meet her and know her. The Democrats will have underestimated her. Never in my life have I seen so much importance placed on a VP pick.

October surprise!?! Huh? Don't you think the rest of the country that's not paying attention like the political fanatics will get tired of this stuff? They're not waiting until October to drag her through the mud and some Alaskan Democrat politician predicting that the information to be released will be bad for her? That stinks to high heaven and I hope that someone starts investigating his sorry a$$.

Like I tell all my real world contacts.....NEVER believe the MSM... They have been slanting the truth since the invention of the newspaper. The problem is that most conservatives are decent people that when somebody says something bad won't shout them down or contradict them. You start talking to the average American one on one and quiet....guess what, Bush is popular, we have won the war in Iraq, God is acceptable in conversation and in schools, and abortion should be stopped.
So when a poll says that Obama and whatziz are at 50%....yeah right, maybe on the top floor of the NY Tass...but not in real America.
Besides I have never believed in poll results....they ask in a way that will get them the answer they want.....nature of the beast.

I stand by my opinion of the pick. I think it is a mistake and will hurt the Republican chances in November, even though it will generate a lot of yapping in the short term.

The bottom line is that she would be a heartbeat away from being the POTUS, and she is surely not the most qualified Republican person in the country to be president.

I like her, but not for this spot.

saiga on September 2, 2008 at 4:13 PM

You're probably right about her qualifications not being the best for being President in case something terrible happened to the real President.... she's just the 2nd best choice of the four people now available to vote for.

Why are we talking about a VP candidate? Why is the Drudge headline BO comparing himself to a VP candidate?????

cab8505 on September 2, 2008 at 2:49 PM

Excellent point. It's a lose/ lose for him... if anyone would actually report it as such. The American Idol/ Jerry Springer crowd are not known for their ability to think for themselves.

- If he wins the argument, he has successfully proven that he is more qualified than a person that his party has relegated a "hockey mom" to be VP.., to say nothing about President.

vs.

- If he loses the argument, he proves that he is not even qualified to be VP... much less President

Rove, you glorious bastard...

When she spoke Friday she said, "Americans come join our cause" and "We are asking for your vote on Nov 4"

I told my husband she was the first of those now on the tickets to do that this season.

She is going to end up more popular than Obama, Biden and McCain in no time.

My collie says:

Following the Sagan tit-for-tat hypothesis, what do you suggest that we offer up as an "equitable" exchange (in the way of retaliation) for that photo?

Ideas anyone?

I've been making that prediction to my friends and family (even my pro-Obama sister-in-law) all weekend.

The people putting any faith in the polls are going to be sorely disappointed. "The Bradley Effect" applies fully to these polls. Polls aren't secret ballots, they are an open expression of what you intend to do. There is absolutely no way to get anything approaching an accurate poll of this election until November on election day. Senator Obama will be the first liberal to lose 50 of 50.

You mean, sad like this ?

My collie says:

Have you forgotten that your dead secular hero Carl Sagan published articles that "scientifically prove" that the best strategy for "getting what one wants" is a tit-for-tat/eye-for-an-eye strategy? So why do you object when we are simply playing by the rules that you and your people keep telling us that we are "supposed to play by"?
