2nd Amendment? Gun Owners of America’s assessment.
Judges? McCain voted to confirm Breyer and Ginsburg, the former political director for the ACLU.
Illegal Immigration/Border Security? There’s a half-beaten, but not yet dead horse.
Free speech? Yeah, that McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform is really working out well…
Abortion? Supports embryonic stem cell research. This is somewhat strange for a guy who believes that life begins at conception.

I could point to many instances of conservative voting for what they thought was a reasonable justice, and the justice turns out to swing to the left.

No doubt. Reagan made many mistakes as well, but I’m sure if I were to make the case for how he messed up and should have known better would be met with derision. While, yes, I believe Reagan was the best President of the 20th century, he had his flaws. McCain, however, given what I’ve listed above, has far too many flaws for me to vote for him in good conscience. As they say, “the best indicator of future performance is past and present performance.”

The reason you can point to McCains mistakes, is that he actually made decisions and has a record.

And? He has a record that I cannot support in good conscience. A choice between a bad record (McCain) and no record (Obama) is no choice at all. I’m choosing option 3: voting my conscience, rather than ingratiating myself to the Republican party. I mean, really, what has either party done in the last 35 years in terms of energy? Welfare’s woes? Medicare/Medicaid? The national debt and the deficit? Illegal immigration/border security? Our failing public education system? I hear a great deal of talking, but the actions on both sides fail to impress.

Here is some news for you…leaders make mistakes…

“Will Fred be seated or standing when his mouth moves, tonight…?

“Did Fred find a way to quote or invoke Ronnie [during] his speech…?

“Did he do a good job of “defending” Sarah’s Alaskan political intrigues and foibles even though he had a cold and apparently wasn’t totally on top of his game…?

“She who must be obeyed” had me cleaning the living room carpet and I couldn’t see or hear the TV, darn it…!

Political ad:

Voter goes car shopping at the Democrat Dealership. The Democrat salesman tells the voter to take a hike (to work, to the store, to the bus that may or may not be there in your town) enforcing good health & green environment via deprivation and forced marches. By the way, though the voter doesn’t get the car, the voter pays for the car he doesn’t get to provide security for the Democrat Dealership.

Following WWII, folks like Ike left the Democrat Party in order to direct the flow of American business prosperity and domestic strength. Reagan would later endorse the same points for American strength, tirelessly promoting international democracy vs. communism.

The GI Bill leveled the economic playing field between the Democrat vs. Republican Parties, as neither has exclusive rights representing either rich or poor Americans. There are as many rich Democrats as Republicans, and as many economically challenged Republicans as Democrats.

Now, when voters transfer from one party to the other it is over IDEOLOGY. That a major ideological Democrat doctrine enforces amputation of wealth from the workers to drones and political swine remains the exclusive bane of the Democrats. That Republicans support education, jobs, energy and production that American businesses accomplish with successful security remains their own exclusive identity.

There is no converting a Nazi in Nazi Germany to leave his party to campaign for an opponent. No one expects to sway ubertards from their brain trench.

But there are a lot of people who don’t care one way or another about things they have no idea about–and a lot of people are uninformed.

We’re not going to take water from your side of the bucket, only the other.

I tried network television only to be stuck with McNeil’s pallbearers of doom on PBS, though I did enjoy hearing McCain’s prison inmate “Bud” give his endorsement between speakers with the PBS blond lady journalist. But the three old white men cronies in the studio were awfully disgusting.

Thank God for reliable alternative sources for news.

It was great watching online PAJAMA TV coverage of the GOP Convention! The PJ lady journalist from D.C. kept the voltage up and on target, delivering a great performance solo and ensemble. Bravo, PJTV!

And Alphie, still waiting to hear how the dems appealed to anyone outside their leftist base.

If you’ve never read it, or only read parts of it, Google it up and read the whole thing. IMHO, the thing should be required reading in highschools and college.

Alfie says that he is a Reagan conservative, but never saw a liberal idea with which Alfie did’nt agree.

Thanks to the YouTUbe link I got to see Newt hand MSNBC their collective arses. Had I been watching it live would’ve also meant I was talking to ralph and earl due to the nausea caused by the “world’s worst person”…

Looking forward to Gov. “the Thrilla from Wasilla” Palin’s speech…(borrowed the Thrilla part from another poster)

And being a longtime lurker here before recently registering, I’ve wanted to ask this question for a long time…”what’s it all about, alphie?”
