Trippi to Democrats: Don’t laugh off Palin

Joe Trippi has had a couple of days to consider John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as running mate, and he has thought better of his initial response.  The man who created the Howard Dean on-line phenomenon warns his fellow Democrats not to underestimate Palin as some hick-town rube.  Instead, Trippi sees McCain’s real purpose:

McCain picked in Palin someone who has taken on the corruption in the GOP in Alaska, turned against her own party’s establishment, and fought for reform.

The McCain/Palin duo will challenge Barack Obama’s claim of “a new kind of politics” and chastise Obama and Democratic vice presidential Nominee, Joe Biden, for their “silence” in taking on corruption in their own party in Illinois, Delaware and Washington, DC.

The McCain campaign intends to claim that “more of the same” in Washington means Barack Obama and Joe Biden and will make the argument that if you want to “shake things up” then McCain and his reform minded running mate from Alaska will get the job done.

My initial reaction was that in picking Palin, McCain had taken away the argument that Barack Obama wasn’t ready to be president. I now think my initial assessment on that score was wrong. Over time, the McCain team will insinuate that if you think a first-term Governor isn’t ready for the number 2 slot, are your really sure that a first-term Senator is ready for the number 1 spot?

Maybe Trippi spent some time at Hot Air this weekend.  After all, I explained this on Friday morning after her selection had been confirmed.  While the Left continued to spin conspiracy theories about Palin’s children and laugh at her for winning a beauty contest as a teen, the mainstream media started to figure out McCain’s purpose the next day.  By that time, we had already shown how Obama’s attacks on Palin’s experience boomerang against his own utter lack of executive, military, and diplomatic experience.

At any rate, this shows that reality has begun to dawn for the Left.  The massive support for Palin on the campaign trail, the enormous fundraising boost, and the sinking poll numbers for Obama point to the conclusion that McCain made a wise choice.  He will attack Obama at his supposed strength and point out what a pair of empty suits the Democratic nominees are on reform and change.

Trippi says that Democrats will make a mistake in ridiculing Palin.  Unfortunately, just like his analysis, it comes at least a day late.

Thank you for the heads up. Cody1991 gets attribution. Hot Air community, treat yourself on Labor Day to a slice of Americana: a 51-slide photo album of Palin and her family.

http://www.adn.com/photos/v-gallery/story/509850.html?/1521/gallery/509852-a512081-t3.html

There are two solo shots of the older son, Track, one on the ice and one portrait. Too bad he can’t campaign because–and I say this in the stauchiest heterosexual sense possible–he’d get some attention.

Forgive me, but create an ad scrolling through some of these photos on the right side of the screen and match them up with Obama shoulder-to-shoulder with Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Pfleger, [fill in the blank] and then provide a side-by-side list of representative accomplishments and life experiences. Then ask: who has better judgment and who is better prepared?

I’m spending way too much time on the internet…

But, I see there is a pay-off.

The bulk of the “usual suspects” are full of vitriol, vituperation and vapidity, shouting to their collective choirs about how dumb Mccain was to pick Palin, and going off on tangents to somehow “expose” Palin…not pregnant, pregnant but uncaring, a rube, just a dumb broad, a Northern Exposure hick. Take a trip over to the other side, it gets nauseatingly obvious that the Left has the bejeebers scared out of them.

What I do not see anymore, since Friday, are any cogent arguments in favor of Obama or Biden. There had been a few attempts prior to Firday morning to try to get the Obamassiah’s message out…but now, it is all about Palin.

Even Rove couldn’t have scripted this better.

The Mccain/Palin yard signs are springing up like, well, Spring, around here. Just a week ago, it was Obama and a few hold-out Hillary signs in the neighborhoods. By the end of the week, perhaps the McCain signs will outnumber the Obama signs.

Its refreshing. Really is.

So, let the Left and the Kos-crew rant and scream, and keep up their attacks, however feeble or specious. Let them devote all their efforts to try to keep themselves convinced that McCain/Palin is a losing ticket.

In the meantime, one or two voters at a time, maybe a dozen in a few days, with the help of reasoned efforts on our part, will see the empty suit Obama and gas bag Biden for who they really are. No change, no hope. Just more of the same old same old Dem party-line politics as usual.

The Obama message has been effectively derailed. Let’s allow the Left to keep it that way.

In the meantime, our work is cut out for us…one family member at a time, one co-worker at a time, one neighbor at a time…help them make their votes count…for McCain/Palin. Keep the Clorox wipes at hand, and take these same folks over to the mainstream Leftie wewbistes, let them read for themselves the sort of people who support Obama/Biden…then wash your hands and take them over to this site and others, and let them see the difference in tone, message, quality and character and content.

You can tell a lot about a person[candidate] by those they keep company with, by those who support them…

Even Rove could not have scripted this any better.

Yes, some on the left are beginning to wake up. Evidently Tom Brokaw isn’t one of them given his performance yesterday. I’ve been LMAOROTF! reading the comments some of these alleged “deep thinkers” have made since the Palin announcement.

Palin has something that the democrats have no conception of

The chief requirements for success in any position of authority are: (a) a basic working knowledge of the subject matter, (b) the ability to charm people.

A big part of B is personal attractiveness; good looking people naturally disarm others. If they come across as sincere (as opposed to aloof) & desirous of achieving joint success (ie helping YOU look good), then the battle is basically over.

JFK & RR are classic cases in point. If Palin is reflected on TV as competent, sincere & well spoken (sans teleprompter), BHO will lose his current mantle as the charming golden boy.

Hey sven, how is the weather down there now? Hopefully you’re not bailing out the house right now.

Bishop on September 1, 2008 at 11:45 AM

Storm is just now arriving and all is well. Nichols hardware a local joint has made the promise they will remain open until the lights go out. I have faith in the Louisiana community to dope with this storm and know Texas will be as always on the ball. Cap’n Cajun and friends will do their part to bust this “poor suckers meme”….keep your powder dry and the fire in your bellies on Palin stoked…we are advancing into the teeth of a confused enemy.

Thank all for their well wishing and keep the faith.

Trippi to Democrats: Don’t laugh off Palin

Mojave Mark to the Dhimmicrats: Please DO laugh off Palin. 16 more years in the White House sounds good to me.

I noted how Palin has been consistently called a “small town mayor” and not the most popular governor in America in the MSM. Nobody on the right calls Obama a state senator from Illinois. I love it when they talk about her inexperience. Keep it up.

I think McCain has cut the political Gordian Knot with Palin. For the two sides to be even in the polls BEFORE the Republican convention is a death knell for Obama and O’biden.

Mojave Mark on September 1, 2008 at 12:02 PM

Hey RBMN,

I bet if one used an A-4 to hunt moose, field dressing wouldn’t be much of a problem.

Sam,

When I look at these photos I juxtapose these images of a wholesome, all American kid with mental imagesof a confused young man hanging out with an avowed communist like Frank Davis followed later by Rezko, Wright and various other, unsavory types – and writing about it!

The decision for me is easy. And I kinda like fighter pilots, too. ;)

J_Gocht on September 1, 2008 at 11:59 AM

Valerie was the archetype of the intelligence dilettante. Not a lot of her collegues came to her defense. The press loved her, so did the left. She just wasn’t that good. [But I covered all of this over at CQ back when she and her husband were frothing about how their lives were ruined by Rove.] Her federal appeal on the dismissal of her suit was tossed out. Old history. But, at least she is not playing “spy” anymore and risking real lives.

But, we are getting off message….

Back to how the left is peeing all over themselves that Obama is no longer Page One material.

Nah….It would be Christian hypocrisy if they threw the kid to the wolves….or sent her to an abortion clinic (same thing, I guess).

However, it appears they are loving and supporting their daughter, while trying to live the doctrine of forgiveness. I know I can’t throw any stones.

The longer Palin keeps her head above water and appears to have a grasp of the issues, the more the left will come around to Trippi’s way of thinking. What we see going on now is just the left doing their best to tar her as a lightweight with hopes that she will eventually prove them correct. It’s a low risk-high reward strategy that I really can’t blame them for using. Well, the irresponsible mother crap notwithstanding, anyway.

Christine on September 1, 2008 at 2:17 PM

“Trippi says that Democrats will make a mistake in ridiculing Palin. Unfortunately, just like his analysis, it comes at least a day late.” Even if Joe came up with this immediately, the lefties still would have thrown their hissy fits. They just can’t help it. They have that ‘uncontrollable urge’ to defile anyone or anything that has integrity. In Palin’s case it’s intergritty!

Christine on September 1, 2008 at 2:21 PM

The dems don’t get it. They never will. Repubs like action dems like to appearances. BHO is a poser Biden in the next chenny and credit card companies are the next hailburton. It’s time for a Teddy roosvelt in the White house. McCain/Palin2008

unseen on September 1, 2008 at 3:33 PM

I knew it all the time.

The left is scared. Hence, the countless barrage of attacks on the Dynamic Duo since the announcement.

One has to wonder how many different ways the left will attack Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin in the time left before the election. I’m certain the hate machines are up 24/7 thinking of new attacks.

madmonkphotog on September 1, 2008 at 3:46 PM

I disagree with some of you who think that the lefts cry of “unqualified to be VP” will stop once the public sees more of Sarah.

You all are grounded in REALITY. The libs are not. Remember when the surge was clearly working and for almost a year they denied it. Dont expect it to let up.

Sarah must be humiliated and made to pay for not having an abortion herself nor her kid.

For that in their stupid little eugenics/abortion world where they come from SHE MUST PAY.

She cannot be seen as a regular woman who fishes, hunts, be a hockey mom who follows her kids, likes to eat moose, and be a lifetime NRA member, or more disgustingly be a PTA mom. Feminists dont do that.

But lastly “true feminist” aborts their kids.

IF Palin survives this (and I pray that she will) she will be a shinning example of a new kind of feminism – one the left CANNOT have out there.

Trippi to Democrats: Don’t laugh off Palin

Mojave Mark to the Dhimmicrats: Please DO laugh off Palin

And, after scanning the comments at Trippi’s site; it looks like Mojave Mark gets his wish.

None of them that I read took Trippi seriously. Good news for the Republicans, as he’s dead right in his analysis of how this will play out.

Another Republican “misunderestimated” by the Left.
