The Intrade prediction market has opened trading on whether “Sarah Palin [is] to be withdrawn as Republican VP nominee before 2008 presidential election.” At 8:55 am, Tuesday morning, the market is selling the prediction at 18 a share and rising. That means 18 percent of traders think Palin will be removed.

Intrade predicted Joe Biden would be Barack Obama’s running mate in August and its traders was also correct about every Senate race in 2006. It fell flat in predicting a Democratic majority.

Isn’t it so classy to see anti-Christian attitudes erupt like it has. So now it’s intellectual NYC media machine attempting to paint the picture this decent woman and her decent family as something trashy. Who or what is the NYC media machine and why does it hate/fear Christian strength? I think we all know.

This election is shaping up to be the final scene from the film Reservoir Dogs. Jews have a gun on Christians have a gun on Muslims have a gun on Jews. America’s lying on the ground, slowly bleeding to death.

Plus, Allah Pundit doesn’t like the choice. SO IT HAS TO BE GOOD! If the world’s most cynical atheist liked it, I would be worried. Maybe Christopher Hitchens would have done it for him.

don’t know how Palin is going to play with the vast middle of voters — the folks that actually decide elections.

I think this is a lot to do about nothing. If anything a unwed pregnant daughter is going to help them. How many of you don’t have family or a friend who got pregnant before they were married. Not one, I bet. This makes the McCain/Palin ticket seem more like real people with the same problems many of us have had to face.

That crap about seven houses wasn’t so good for McCain….this isn’t hurting him a bit. She’s a beautiful smart woman who understands America (maybe better than he does). We’re lucky to have her and I know she’s helping me get back on board.

I think she can get by without you just fine.

Nobody who has “lived” a life, made decisions, ran for public office, been in the public for years, could ever be squeaky clean.
No matter how much “vetting”, each and everyone of the potential candidates have something in their background that is not right. The only way you make a mistake is by making decisions and the only way of not making a mistake is by doing nothing.

I completely agree with you there. You would have to agree that some mistakes provide more impact on a candidate than another, right? Let’s say John Edwards had made it onto Obama’s ticket…would you not agree that could have imperiled his campaign? I still think that intense media vetting, especially by liberal media, is the best way to qualify our conservative candidates.

I’ve said this from day one when Palin was announced and got a lot of pushback for it. I was excited he had actually named a conservative, but was very concerned about the vetting of Sarah. Yes…I knew she had been “vetted” by McCain’s people, but when you have a pack of ravenous liberal media wolves, every aspect of said candidates personal and political life will be left open to interpretation to the MSM. The Boston Globe sent private investigators to Guatemala to interview one of the illegals who worked on Romney’s lawn, for hell’s sakes. That’s why I’ve always said a candidate who has been exposed to the disinfecting sunshine of the MSM is a better pick than some unknown that is vetted by John’s team. I hope there are no big skeletons that come tumbling out of her closet.

As you can see Michelle Malkin does not subscribe to the usual nastiness, regardless from where it comes. If a blogger on The Right did it she would be on them as well.

One more thing that surprised me. Installing Palin has made Hillary the underdog with some women. I should have seen it coming, but I was surprised at the response.

Hillary got snubbed by the DEMs. The Palin gets pulled out of a box and praised to the heavens for accomplishments that do not appear to exceed Hillary’s.

It does not matter they are in two different parties. This is primal human emotion. Palin has been dubbed a Chosen one, just like Obama. This is a hurdle to cross

In Michigan, in the most union part of the most blue collar part. This is not a typical state, and votes can swing wildly. There is the Southeast urban area, and the other bloc north, either of which can swing the state so we have had conservative GOP governors, and ultra liberal DEM governors. The only religion that plays badly is islam with non blacks. Although the state has a strong pro-life sentiment, it follows the leadership on handling the issue. It is not the South.

Romney’s father was a popular Governor and his reputation has grown, not diminished with time. Romney Sr. has become legend, a synonym for the good times. He would have been the choice if they needed Michigan.

Macomb county is famous as the county that swung for Reagan. The Detroit black vote is locked so solid for Obama it has to exceed the national black Obama vote.

Obama was an upsetting choice to about half of the typical non black DEM voters I interact with. The other half soldily buy the ‘Change’ message.

Obama pushed a big block over to McCain, and Palin is moving a part of that block away. They do not want to vote Obama but are unhappy with Palin. I have heard several now say they will not vote. That could help McCain except the black vote is unmovable.

Labeling people nutroots for taking apart the Palin decision on a conservative web site is a big mistake. It is better to work the negatives now, or the enemy will take her apart their way.

McCain by springing the dark horse now has allowed the MSM to begin the vetting. Obama news and gaffes have been shoved aside and the general press stream will be negative Palin for a long time. If Palin was bullet proof this is a plus. If Palin is shaky, McCain takes a hit.

She can become an underdog if the press plays it wrong. That is where McCain took a gamble. He has to hope they play it wrong. in other words, the game is in their hands now. McCain gave up a well scrubbed candidate who could pull one of the three midwest states Obama must have to win.

What a mess comes from playing a game to nominate a candidate who never had the conservative plurality (I mean McCain, not Palin)
